So, this is a poem I wrote long ago. It isn't really a poem poem, because it doesn't rhyme, but it's more of a comparison poem... Thing. ^^ Here it is.

If God is a lion, then Satan is a tiger.
One has black stripes of lies zig-zagging across his pelt,
While the other has a golden coat, as clean and pure as truth.

One hunts through shadows, cold and dark,
While the other hunts in the sun of warmth and color.
The tiger has no one, but himself.

So I had an idea for a story. It's where there's a big computer that records the births of every person. If you're not in the computer, you can't do anyting. It's like an ID or license or credit card. So, it's sort of a distopia. One person was born in the desert and isn't in the computer. She's an orphan and has lived in this desert by meeting a gang of rebels who are also orphans and want to ruin this system because it isn't fair. She joins the group and becomes sort of like a beta in the group.

I wrote this free verse poem today and was wondering if it was any good because I never really wrote one before.

Storm

Thud, thud, thud, 

Squeak, squeak, squeak

The winshield wipers go.

The rain gets hard.

The thunder, loud.

The lightning, bright.

The air, cold,

The car, slow.

We wait.

Wait to arrive.

Wait to get home, 

To be warm, 

To be cozy, 

And to feel safe.
