Admins Question Thread
Admins Question Thread
Pretty self-explanatory, for when you have a question for the Admins.
I was looking through the Ultimate Guide to the CB, and it says people ask the admins questions "frequently related to blue moon ice cream."
What does that mean?
One of the older admins told a story about Blue Moon ice cream a while back and it became something of a meme: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/downtoearth/node/441247. --admin

@Admin, I've been wondering this for a while: when you review comments, in what order do you review them? Do you go by length, CBer, thread posted, or something else? I'm just curious :)
We usually just go in chronological order, so the oldest post gets reviewed first. Longer posts might be reviewed after shorter ones, if we want to be sure to have the time to read it all. - Admin

@admin - how did you end up working for cricket mag?
I applied to the job posting online after graduating college! I stumbled upon it somewhat randomly, but I recognized Cricket from my childhood. I knew I wanted to work in the writing/publishing field, and working at Cricket turned out to be a perfect fit! - Admin

Oh wow, @admin, that's amazing :) I'm glad you got the job of your dreams!

@admin, what's your favourite part of working for cricket?
Reading all the comments that come in to Chatterbox!

@Admin, hello and thanks for everything you do! I don't ask questions here too often, but I was wondering if there's any way for me to find out if I've been published in the Letterbox before? I don't get Cricket anymore so I don't know. I don't know if it's something you'd know about; sorry to bug you!
You're in Letterbox or Chirps in September, October, and November/December 2022, and January and April 2023. And Chirps from you are coming up in January and February 2023. Maybe you should renew your subscription!

@admins, did you get cricket mag when you were younger? If so, what did you like about it?
The stories!

@admins happy new year! Favorite part of 2023?
That's a tough question! I guess I'll say a week in August at a lakeside cottage with family and playing in the orchestra for our local production of The Nutcracker ballet.

I posted a thread that started as @Wildwolf... other comments that I've posted recently have showed up but not this like 2/3 hours ago? Where'd it go, or am I just being to impatient?
I don't know. I've just come on. If you can't find it, feel free to resubmit.

@Admin, if I were to subscribe to Cricket again at the end of this month, would I still get the January/February 2024 issue, or would it be too late and I'd have to wait for the next one?
It usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to start a subscription, so it would probably be the March issue or maybe February. But call 1 800 821 0115 and ask or send a query via shop.cricketmedia.com. You can request the January issue, because individual issues are for sale, too.

Do you guys randomly pick posts from here to put in the mag, or is it just stuff you like...?
Both . . . plus comments that pertain to the time or year or themes in the magazine for which the comments are chosen.

If you'd like I'd be happy to post whenever you get published (if you just want to know if you have been and what got published and stuff. I think I'd be able to send a picture too if you want.. the thing is I doubt I have the ones from 2022)!
(January 7, 2024 - 5:08 am)
That'd be cool! I think I will be able to subscribe and get the January issue by following the Admins' instructions, but if I don't get the January issue or if you have any mags where I've been published and you want to show me, you can. I don't want to waste your time though if you're too busy because it's my own fault that I never renewed my subscription. I kept forgetting to ask my mom if we could renew it but I asked her if we could start subscribing again and I think it will work out! I have missed reading all the stories.

Ok, got it! Let me know if you ever need it then! :) And yeah I also just renewed my subscription recently, the stories and bugs in the margin and everything's always fun

@Admin, do you ever browse around the CB just for fun?
Not just for fun, although it is fun reviewing comments when they are submitted. And I do browse to find book reviews, favorite first sentences, or comments for Letterbox to print in the magazine. And that is fun, too!

Where can I post first sentences for the cricket mag?
To submit sentences to be published in Cricket magazine, you may email them to: cricket@cricketmedia.com.
Or US mail to: Favorite First Sentences, PO Box 300, Peru, IL 61354
You can also post sentences on Chatterbox here: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/blababoutbooks/node/534658
Your sentence might have less of a chance of being picked for the magazine if you post it there, because threads travel around so much and may not always be easy to find.
