Admins Question Thread
Pretty self-explanatory, for when you have a question for the Admins.
I was looking through the Ultimate Guide to the CB, and it says people ask the admins questions "frequently related to blue moon ice cream."
What does that mean?
One of the older admins told a story about Blue Moon ice cream a while back and it became something of a meme: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/downtoearth/node/441247. --admin

Admins, is there any websites you DO support...?
Not that I can think of off-hand. The reason is that we can't control the content of other sites and they may lead to content beyond the guidelines of Chatterbox.

@admins, Is it weird that I haven't gotten my November Issue yet? Why is it late?
Issues have been mailing a bit later than usual this fall. Then we can't control the speed of the US mail system. Your issue should arrive any day now. If it doesn't arrive by next Wednesday and you know that your subscription has not expired, please call 1 800 821 0115 or contact customer service at shop.cricketmedia.com. We hope to return to the earlier mailing schedule for the January 2024 issue.

@admins,
for some reason I can't see my post from earlier asking about the november issue of cricket?
I just replied and posted it, so I hope you can see it now. Sometimes it takes a while for us to answer.

@admins for writing contests are there any basic requirements in order to get first place?
Cricket League story and poetry contest entries are judged by the overall quality of the work, creativity/originality, and how well the entry develops the theme of the contest. First place is awarded to those that fit these criteria the best and that follow the rules of the contest. That usually means sticking to the limit of 350 words per story (every word counts except the title; hyphenated words count as one word) and 24 lines for poetry. Eligible entries should also be received by the contest deadline (rule 6.) Recently some issues have mailed late; however, the current contest theme and rules is posted at cricketmagkids.com/contests by the first of each contest month, so you can get started even if your issue arrives late. When judging, we do also consider the age of the writer.

@admins, I was wondering what you all wanted to be when you grew up/some of your dreams/interests? This may or may not be kinda important if you want??
I remember when I was maybe 4 or 5 I got a red fire truck that I could sit in and move by pedaling and I had a slicker raincoat and wanted to be a firefighter. But that didn't last very long. I come from a whole family of librarians, and my mother always read to my siblings and me before bed. As I went through school I was always interested in literature, science (biology, chemistry, geography, geology, nature), and music.

@admins have you ever thought of making an AE?
No. I leave that to all of you!

@admins,
Is it possible to win a contest when you're older than 13? I've never seen any winners 14, 15, 16, etc., or is that just because they don't submit as much?
There is no age limit for Cricket League. We have had winners as old as 16 or 17. You're right that we don't get as many entries from older teens. It's also true that sometimes work from 11- or 12-year-olds is just as good as or better than what we get from older readers. I know there are very good writers on Chatterbox. Some of their poems are outstanding. But I don't know if they enter Cricket League. You can look at past winners' work at cricketmagkids.com/contests. You should be able to find some work from older readers.

@Admins: Uhm, I have sent a comment to the Make A Friend here on This Month a few days ago, but I don't see it. Why? Also, I had put a website address in a post on my picture thread on Puddings Place, but i don't see it. Why did you take it out?
I don't know about your missing comment. I don't find it in the unposted queue. We don't publish names or addresses of other websites because we can't control their content.

Oh, ok. Sorry. Thank you for your help. :)

Hi @admins!... Weird question, I wrote a story that is all my own work where my main character meets characters from other books such as Percy Jackson, so it is kinda sorta copyrighted... would I still be allowed to post it?
Thanks,
BookGirl
I think that would be all right, as long as your main character is your own original creation. Thank you for asking.
