One: Do you like Guardians of The Galaxy? If so, who's your fave character?

Two: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

I have seen the Guardians of the Galaxy. Groot is the cutest, but I think Nebula's arc is most interesting. My favorite flavor of ice cream is probably cookies and cream. - Admin

@admins would you receive a contest entry that's one day late? also how did you come up with the name chatterbox?

We know that the September Crickets mailed late, so the September Cricket League contest deadline has been extended until October 6. But we want everyone to know that the current contest theme and rules are posted at cricketmagkids.com/contests by the first of each contest month. So even if your issue arrives late, you can get a start on a contest entry. We do accept some entries that arrive after the deadline IF the postmark indicates that the entries were mailed in plenty of time but delayed in the mail delievery system. But if you mail on the deadline, we likely won't consider your entry.

I don't know who exactly came up with the name Chatterbox. I think the editors likely brainstormed a list of possible names and Chatterbox was the one that was picked. People "chatter" with each other on the site.

@Admins, on the inside of each Cricket magazine, the members of the Advisory Board are listed, and one of the members is apparently Marianne Carus... but I believe she passed away, so why is she still on the list of Advisory Board members? Did the editors forget to take her name off?

No, we didn't forget. Marianne was the founder of Cricket and set the direction of the magazine that endures to this day. You can read a little more about her in the September Old Cricket Says. Her creativity and ideas still inspire every Cricket issue.

I know there have been ideas in the past to make threads about gender/sexuality that you've said no to on the principle that this is a site that tries to be age-appropriate to everyone and it would be too hard to moniter. And I get that in relation to stuff like sexuality, because it deals with topics that might not be super appropriate to younger kids. But would, for example, a thread about gender be okay, as gender/pronouns should be something kids of all ages have exposure to?

totally okay if the answer is no, I'm just curious where you draw the line—or if you do it case by case, which also makes sense.

There already is a pronouns thread. I'll confer with the other editors/admins about the rest of your request.

How long does it take for a new thread to be posted?

@admins has there ever been an attempt to fix the backpage glitch where when you send the first comment it sends it to the back?

Our webmaster has said there's no easy way to fix it, and we don't have staff time to devote to a more substantial revision. So we've just learned to live with it.
