1. Okay.
2. If we knew it was a death trap, we could also be influencing the murderer somehow, which might actually make sense given that CBers and AEs don't normally try to kill each other. Being upset could help the plot, passivity would distance us from the guests, and quiet glee would mean we could do pretty much whatever we want.
3. That's nice, but I don't think so. I'm not fond of the way Biora is pronounced, the way it looks, or the obvious and easily unearthed meaning. But we can be Summer and Scarlet (or Kaji and Sukāretto) if you want, and The Proprietors when posting for both of us. Or Summer and Sukāretto? You're obviously more into the Japanese theme than I am, so our names could reflect that.
(April 4, 2018 - 8:11 pm)
The Proprietors when posting for both of us would be good, and I'd like my alias to be either Kaji or Sukāretto, but I'm not sure what you'd like.
Also, what's your opinion on our opinion about the murders?
(April 7, 2018 - 2:47 pm)
Kaji means Summer, so we could be Kaji and Summer. :3 But yeah, no, I think Summer and Sukāretto works.
My opinion on our opinion about the murders? That's an interesting phrase. Anyway, I like being creepy, so delighted is good, and while upset works too, I prefer distanced. All have their perks for plot convenience. Or maybe we could have different opinions? You could be upset while I'm distanced, or you distant and me darkly delighted.
(April 7, 2018 - 4:14 pm)
Alright, Summer and Sukāretto it is.
How about you distanced and I delighted? That would probably work. Also, if I'm delighted, how would that affect the plot? Like, if we know it's a death trap, then what would I do to make sure somebody kills everyone?
(April 10, 2018 - 6:40 am)
You would probably organize convenient events, put in rules to subtly assist the murderer, create a perfect enviroment and supply tools, escape routes, and alibis. But don't make it too easy, and this mostly applies if we're influencing them. You could also influence them to make them take advantage of the things you do.
(April 12, 2018 - 6:45 am)
Alright! I don't think we have much more to talk about until July...
Oh, I'll be at camp from August 12th to August 18th, so we won't be able to do it then. Do you have anything going on?
(April 15, 2018 - 10:49 am)
I'm going to Scotland in either June or July, but it should be fine.
(April 16, 2018 - 9:06 am)
Oh yes, password: Blossom.
(April 2, 2018 - 10:18 pm)
We need to set a start date. I was thinking we post the thread on the 15th of May or June and start on the first of June or July, but do you want to go with May/June or June/July? And who's going to post the thread? Any ideas for what it should say, the title, the charrie sheet format? I think we should specify that there are 31 or 32 spots open (depending how many days there are in the month we do it; one for each victim/day and one more for the murderer), including Captchas and AEs. We should also make them pay for the popcorn.
(April 24, 2018 - 3:28 pm)
June/July would be good, and 31-32 openings would be best. It seemed like a lot, but everyone brings 1-2 captchas/AEs, so it'll work out.
Not sure on the title, but for the ryokan itself, how about "The lilly of the valley"? (Or Ryokan Suzuran, if you want it to have a more traditional name). The ryokan'll be in a valley, and it'll look nice, (hence lily of the valley) but ALSO lilies of the valley (the flower) are highly poisonous. Symbolisim!
As for the welcome post, could you write a rough draft? Then I could make a revised edition; and we'll go back and forth until we have it set.
(April 25, 2018 - 7:05 am)
Perfect!
Okay, edit this however you want:
Ryokan Suzuran
The CBer sat in the shade outside their house, staring up at the single cloud in the sky. It was nearly July, and already sweltering hot. They wondered idly if it would rain tomorrow.
A bird glided over from somewhere behind them. Oddly, it landed right at their knee, seemingly unafraid. As the CBer watched, it set down a scroll. The bird stared at the CBer for a second before flapping away. The CBer watched it go before opening the missive.

This is really good! I'd like to rewrite just the letter section:
You are invited to a free* 31-day vacation** at the Ryokan Suzuran! Located in a scenic valley, we offer hiking trails, hot springs, and traditional Japanese rooms and services; all for no cost!* To accept, simply bury this message in damp soil. Guests and luggage are to be transported by dragon.***
* Popcorn not included.
** Length of vacation may vary.
*** You will not be allowed to keep the dragon upon arrival.
The Ryokan Suzuran is not to be held responsible for any loss of property, loss of sanity, or loss of life. Weapons and popcorn making supplies will be confiscated upon arrival.
A few questions- should we cut the guests down to thirty? That would be one per day if we're doing it in July, with one extra for the starting/arrival day.
Is the title just going to be 'Ryokan Suzuran', or something like 'Endless summer'?
And, could we have the participants write journal entries? Are we doing picture clues?
(April 26, 2018 - 6:23 am)
July has 31 days, so 32 makes one murder a day for the whole month including arrival, plus the murderer. Do you want to not have a murder on the arrival day?
I thought just "Ryokan Suzuran". "Endless summer" is nice, but it implies that we're the Spring Queen, which we are not. We can have something else if you want, though.
Journal entries--like the CBers and AEs themselves write the entries, or we do? And what are picture clues?
(April 26, 2018 - 3:15 pm)
All right, I'm back to business.
1: A murder on arrival day would be fine, but I'm puzzled on why there's 32 guests and only 31 days in July. Are we starting on the last day of June?
2: Good point. Ryokan Suzuran... How about we title it "The Lily of the Valley"?
3: Like the CBers and AEs write them. Picture clues refered to photos of scraps of paper foundat the scene of the crime or something. I got the idea from another ski lodge, but I can't seem to find it now... This might be a bit hard to organize though.
And, I'll post the welcome post on... June 15th? Will that work?
I will be gone/ really busy on the 13-21, but I'll be able to write my days ahead of time and post them here. Can you post them under my pseudonym?
One last thing: I just realized that July has a Friday the 13th. That'll be fun to write for...
Next post is what the welcome post will look like:
(May 25, 2018 - 6:44 am)
1. Nope, we're starting on the first day of July. There are 31 days in July, so with a murder every day, there will be 31 deaths. The murderer will not die, probably. 31 people slated to die and 1 slated to live makes 32 guests in total. Got it?
2. I think I'd prefer Ryokan Suzuran, but we can if you want.
3. Yeah. The Treehouse Maut just employed that, so I think I understand. However, the art/photography of picture clues might give our identities away. They might guess us first, though, and I don't suppose it's the most important thing. Oh, and I do plan on joining it myself. It's normal for me to immediately go after every ski lodge I see in the hopes it goes well. So.
4. June 15th is fine.
5. Yeah, I'll copy and paste.
6. Ooh! Is that your day or mine?
