The deadline for drawings is Thanksgiving (Nov. 24). If you or your partner cannot participate for some reason, Clouded Leopard and The Artist can take the place of a missing artist and Autumn Leaves or Applejaguar can take the place of a missing writer. I would draw for the people without artists, but I'm already in a partnership. Sorry, guys! Maybe I can get my sister to do it or something.

Phew! Here's the picture, sorry it's cutting it close. The only thing I want to say is that one of the spirits is named Grief and one is called Anger. It's up to you which is which, and what happens to the girl.

Okay, here it is!  Sorry it's so late.  I'm afraid it's not my best work, (we've had company and I've been sick this week) but I hope you like it!

ASIA'S STORY

I have fallen from the sky. When I fell, my coating splintered into a thousand pieces.

Just like my heart.

I am a fallen star. There are normally only five or six of us every year. But lately, there's been loads more.

Why? Because of Queen Luna and King. Yes, just King.

I remember it like it was yesterday. King, ruling that I couldn't go to Earth to grant dreams. Queen Luna, pleading my case. King, finally accepting, worry in his eyes. Queen Luna, relieved, telling me about the falling star issue.

I never expected I would become one of them.

I had to get back up to Universe. I had to. I had promised Queen Luna. I had promised. And I always keep my promises.

I walked through the open plains, looking for a village. Finally, after miles of walking, I found one.

A young girl stood outside the wrought-iron gates, which were closed, of course. She seemed to be talking to the guard, who was shaking his head. The girl began to cry.

I walked over. “Excuse me, what is going on here?”

The guard looked at me, startled. “Where did you come from?”

I must admit, with my pale blue hair and silver eyes, I probably looked pretty odd. “None of your business. Now, what's going on?”

The girl spoke up. “He won't let me back inside!” She cried.

I bent down. “Why were you outside? What happened?” I asked softly.

The girl twisted her hands over her pale green, dirty dress. “I was picking flowers for my mommy. I didn't notice the time, and ran to the gates, but they had already closed. And now I'm not allowed back inside!” She started to cry again.

I stood up and looked at the guard, square in the eye. “Let. Us. In.” He nodded, frightened, and swung open the gate. The girl ran inside quickly, her eyes darting left and right, and I walked through calmly. The guard clanged the gates shut behind us. The girl sighed deeply.

“What's your name?” I asked kindly.

“Dietra,” She replied. What a pretty name! “And yours?”

“Me?” I said, shocked. She nodded, and I hesitated.

“My name is Asia,” I said quietly. Dietra sucked in a breath.

“Pretty.” I smiled. And then I hesistated. She looked like she was only about six. Would she have a deepest wish yet? I decided to go for it.

“Dietra?” The girl looked up at me. “Do you have a deepest desire, something you want with all your heart?”

Dietra looked at me strangely for a moment before turning thoughtful. “Well, I do have one.” Her little features rearranged themselves into a very serious face.

“I want to bring my mommy and poppy away. Away from this cruel village, where we're cooped up like chickens.” She said calmly. I nodded slowly.

It was silent inside the village gates for a moment. Dietra and I stood, taking in the silence and dark before the young girl spoke. “Asia?”

I replied. “Yes?”

“Do you have a deepest wish?” I nearly toppled over-you could've pushed me with a feather. But then, I thought. At the moment? Yeah, I did. More than anything, I wanted to get back to Universe. I smiled and looked up at the sky, Dietra copying me.

“Yes. Yes I do.” We stood in silence for another moment before Dietra sighed, leveling her gaze with the houses.

“I must go home. Would you come with me? Mommy would let you stay for the night, I know it!” She looked so hopeful, I couldn't refuse. I walked with her to her house. Dietra went to knock on the door, but the wood moved inwards before she could and she would've fallen flat on her face had I not caught her. A young woman with curly brown hair poked her head out and grabbed Dietra by the arm, pulling her inside. She moved to slam the door on my face, but I held up my hand, blocking it. I extended my hand for her to shake.

“Asia. I found Dietra outside the gates.” The woman's eyes widened, and she clutched the young girl further into her deep green dress.

“Jennifer,” She said quietly.

I nodded politely. Dietra began to ask, “Mommy, can she stay for the night, pleas-”

“No.” Jennifer said, and went to shut the door on me again, but I put my hand back against it, pushing it back. Jennifer let go of the door, surprised at my strength.

“Fine. Come in,” She huffed. I walked inside the hut, removing my tan sandals outside. Dietra took a single blanket and laid it on the floor. She watched as I sat down on it, and Jennifer laid on the pullout couch. Dietra laid down a green tarp on the ground next to me.

“Don't you want to go to your room, to sleep in your own bed?” I asked awkwardly keeping my voice hushed.

“This is my bed,” Dietra replied, confused. “And no, I want to sleep by you!”

She laid on the tarp, her back to me, sighing in comfort. I shrugged and put my cold back against her warm one, laying on top of the blanket.

I didn't sleep though. Oh no, a star could never truly sleep at night. We had many other, more important things to do. We might nap. But never longer than three hours. Finally, I couldn't stand it any longer and stood up, laying a hand on Dietra’s shoulder.

“Grant this child’s deepest desire,” I whispered. The people, tarp, couch, and other items flickered in and out before vanishing. I stepped outside. Jennifer and Dietra were now safe.

The moonlight beamed down, beginning to envelope me. I closed my eyes, feeling my transformation back into a star.

When I opened my eyes, black density and white specks swirled around me, and I saw the faces of King and Queen Luna, smiling.

I was home.
