Normality (though not really)
Ah yes, I believe that it’s time we take a new approach to this whole war. Why don’t we each make one character that is not a Resistance soldier or a soldier of Catastrophe or a part of the Kyngdom Council or even a part of the ongoing war? Maybe we can write through the POV of a character watching all of this unfold and how the war is affecting their lives. So maybe you’ll create a peasant, or a student, or a duchess. Maybe you’ll create a normal Homo Avian, Dolor Felis, or Anthro. Whatever it may be, let your creativity soar in the POV of someone different. I urge you to take part in this new project. We will write character sheets and RP here.

Bomani ~
We had just made it to the next roof when suddenly, there is a gunshot.It startled me, and I searched wildly for who was shot. And then I spot Ath's arm. She stares at it, as silver blood trickles down her arm and pools on the roof. She stumbles backwards.
"Sit down!" I type frantically . She does, and then I rush over. I search through her pack and find some sort of cloth or bandages and wrap it around her arms. The result isn't pretty, but it'll do. The soldiers haven't shot at us again, so I assume it was fired accidentally or something.
"We need to get you to a doctor or something," the cypher says for me. She blinks, and then nods, coming out of her trance. The injury is one her upper arm, and when she tries to stand, she winces in pain. Her arm hangs uselessy at her side.
~~~
Even Coco agrees! He says dhkr, which I think might mean doctor.
Ath~
"We have to get you to a doctor or something!" Bomani's machine says. I groan, and I can move my arm very well, but my mind stays clear despite the fire racing all through my torso and arm.
"No! I'll be fine! We have to keep going!" Bomani glares at me, but I ignore him. I slowly stand up and look down at the jump between houses. I suddenly don't that I can make the jump with a limp arm. Bomani's gaze softens.
"Follow me!" He commands and runs to the side of the roof, the side closed to an alley. He dives off the edge, only to reappear moments later. I peer over the edge. He had landed on a fire escape balcony. From the balcony there were stairs which ended in an alley devoid of human activity. I make my way off of the roof as are fully as possible. The bandage Bomani put around my arm snags, and I have to clench my jaw tightly to prevent me from shouting in my pain. Clutching my bad arm, I follow Bomani down the stairs. We make it as quickly as possible to the main street, where we had seen the boy and the girl. Since the girl was still struggling against the boy, they had made slow progress and we caught up to them easily.
"Here, let me help!" I said to the boy, the girl wriggling tiredly in his bear hug. His eyes ask me how I am going to do that with one of my arms in the state that it is, but he nods. I cover her eyes with my one functioning hand. She stops wriggling and immediately both of her hands reach towards mine. Without a second thought the boy scoops her up and begins running in the direction they were (slowly) traveling. Bomani takes off after him, and I groan before following suit. Every step I take jolts my arm into agony. By the time we stop, I am almost ready to faint. I have an extremely high pain tolerance, but the pain experienced by someone who was just shot in the arm and had to run a distance with a quickly-done cloth cast would've taken hard nerves from anyone. We had stopped in front of a clothing shop.
Ath still needs someone to be shipped with!
(July 29, 2018 - 2:38 am)
I finally have a charcter to be shipped with Ath! I promised you this a loooong time ago, and I guess I just never got around to it. Here he is, though--
Name- Jamundi Mikilatou
Age- 16, maybe 15
Gender-Male
Species - At one point, he was a rubyhanded Gemstone Warrior. Now, he's a werewolf Gemstone thing.
Appearance - His skin is amber-toned, and his hair is black, and slightly spiked. His eyes are wolf-like and yellow, which is weird. His nails are oddly sharp, as are his teeth. His ears are slightly pointed, and he's on the tall side. He wears metal gauntlets that hide the rubies on his palms. He normally wears traveling clothes in shades of grey and black. He has a wolf form that he can turn into at will. It is a slightly oversized black wolf, with humanlike hands.
On full moons, he can turn into a werewolf, a humanoid wolf creature. His fur is black in this form.
Personality - Charismatic, an excellent liar. He is extremely intelligent, and although he's charismatic and stuff, he's rather reserved and quiet.
Place in Kyngdom of birth/Origin - Where ever the rest of the Gemstone Warriors come from.
Occupation- None, really. He travels from place to place, selling whatever he collects, doing odd jobs, all sodts of things.
Backstory - He was born as a Gemstone Warrior, but when he was young, he decided to go exploring. This turned out to be a terrible decision, as it resulted in him being kidnapped and turned into a werewolf thing.
YUS THANK YOU SYBILL!! Ooooh, I have an idea! What if he despises being a werewolf and wants to find an antidote that turns him back into a normal rubyhand Jeutvar! PLOT TWIST AHERNK!! Wow. That was weird. But it could work... *GASP* WHAT IF ATH DOESN'T REALLY THINK HE IS ATTRACTIVE UNTIL HE IS HEALED AND HIS WEREWOLFY FEATURES DISSAPEAR OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT I DON'T KNOW IT'S YOUR CALL SYBILL!! After all, Jumandi's your charrie. :) I think his wolf'like features should disappear with some just toned down (i.e. his "claws" and his pointed ears and teeth disappear but his eyes remain yellow) IDK it's your charrie but I think Ath realizing that he is attractive without some of the wolf features wouod be good for the plot, if you follow me. :)
(August 1, 2018 - 1:54 pm)
I was thinking something in the same zone. Like, at first, Ath is terrified of him and dislikes him, but as they get to know each other, she grows on him. And yeah, I was planning on him hating his werewolf -ness. But, allow me to introduce him to the plot --
Jamundi ~
There was still a great pandemonium happening at the town square. It had been a Full Moon Festival. And then, things went awry.
I'd been at the festival. But then, those kids pulled the prank. Or, at least, the kid. But then, the stress of the whole situation started to get to me. Fur had started growing, and my "claws" were getting larger. So I hid here, on a side street next to a closed clothing shop.
On full moons, I can turn into a werewolf, and I am stronger. But when I turn into it, I go feral, and wreak everything in my path. It's extremely painful and exhausting not to turn into a werewolf, too, and my head was swimming, and I felt dizzy. Really dizzy.
And during the day and normal nights, I can turn into a large wolf with human hands. During the day, I can control it. But at night, I cannot.
I sat down, suddenly feeling nauseous again. White flecks appeared in my vision. I took several deep breaths and they went away. My stomach was still a little queasy, but not nearly as bad.
I stood up, and then two young children, a pangolin, and a teenage girl with a lame and bandaged arm appeared.
"Ow..." the girl muttered , holding her arm. I saw silverish stains on the bandages and realized she was bleeding. Silver blood.
"Are you alright? I hope that bullet didn't hit anything too important," The pangolin typed quickly into a typewriter computer thing hanging around his neck.
The girl had been shot?
I stepped out of the shadows. "Do you need help?" I asked, careful to hide my sharp canines. My ears were hidden enough , and my "claws" and rubies were hidden in my gauntlets. The onlh unusual visible thing about the me was my eyes.
The pangolin immediately typed, "Yes!" whils the hissed , "Bomani!" And then said " No, we're fine. " her teeth were gritted, however, and she was very clearly in pain.
"I used to be a healer," I said , which wasn't a lie. I had been a "healer", when I was first turned to a werewolf. It was the only thing I had known how to do, and young me had desperately needed money, "I can help with that." I point to the girl's arm . The bandages had been soaked through with silver blood.
Um, we'd moved on from that but how about Jumandi intecepted Ath and Bomani escorting Orion and Winona...?
Ath~
A teenage boy with yellow eyes steps out of the shadows as I clutch my arm. It was bleeding liberally, and I was afraid that it might attract unwanted attention. The Jeutvar are hunted by some races, merely because of the magical properties of our blood and our gems. Bomani races over to me and types with shaking claws on his Cypher.
"Are you alright? I hope that bullet didn't hit anything important." The machine says. The boy comes over to us.
"Do you need help?" His voice is weird. It sounds rough and slithery, but it is soothing at the same time. I don't trust him.
"YES!" Bomani types.
"Bomani!" I hiss through clenched teeth. "No, we're fine." The boy looks slightly disappointed.
"I used to be a healer, I can help with that." He points at the alarmingly shining bandage on my arm. Bomani nods enthusiastically, and I shoot him a glare. The odd boy bents down and reaches towards my wound. I recoil slightly when he grabs the bandage and gently works it off. He looks at me. "My name is Jamundi. What is yours?"
"Ath." Bomani types, and I shoot him another but more venomous glare.
"Do you have any more cloth, Ath?" Jamundi smiles at me amiably. I hand him some more cloth from my bag. He skillfully winds it around the bullet wound, taking care not to hurt me. "Good. You shouldn't try to do anything with that arm for about a week." Bomani's eyes widen.
"A WEEK?? A wound like that would usually take a month and a half to heal!" Jamundi nods, the devil.
"Usually, they do, but only if the wounded person is a human." His eyes glints. Bomani looks at me, some fear showing in his small eyes. I growl.
"Humans bleed red." He whispers through the machine. "Ath, what are you??" I glare at Jamundi, but his eyes only show curiosity and pride. I stare hard at him, then I understand.
"A gem shines brightest when cut." Bomani's brow furrows, but Jamundi simply reponds:
"And a warrior is trained only to its best." His smile broadens, but I just narrow my eyes.
~~
(August 1, 2018 - 7:05 pm)
Could you RP Jamundi please? :)
(August 17, 2018 - 1:53 am)
Omk, I am terribly sorry! Feel free to yelll a t me the next time this happens.
Jamundi~
"And a warrior is trained only to its best." I reply , a smile growing on my face like ice cracking. However, I was still careful to hide the sharper than natural fangs that should have been teeth.
The pangolin looks ready to explode in confusion as it exclaims, "Wait! Slow down! What are you two!?!"
" Well, we're not human. " I reply.
"Yeah, I've figured that out," Bomani types. Fortunately , he's turned down the volume on the speaker-computer-machine he's using to speak.
The humans that were with Bomani and Ath have left awhile ago. But there is something all of us forgot.
there is suddenly pounding footsteps. "You three! What are you doing out after curfew! This is punishable!"
"The soldiers!" Ath hisses . Bomani beckons with his tail, and runs down a backstreet branching off of the backstreet we were already on. He leads us through twisty, narrow alleys, the guards getting closer with every step.
My vision is flashing white when we reach our doom--a tall brick wall with no vines or anything to use to climb up it. And Ath is wincing in pain with every breath. Bomani 's expression is grim as he draws his two swords. I wonder how a pangolin managed to get them.
Somewhere close to twelve soliders surround us.
"Oh, you!" A soldier who I assume is in charge says , stepping forwards, pointing his....gun at ath and Bomani. "We saw you on the rooftops earlier, hmm? I'd have though a bullet would have stopped you, but you must be more resilient than I had thought."
he turns to me. "You, however --you intrigue me. I don't think I've even seen a human with eyes like that." A hideous smile is on his face.
" I've never seen a human quite as disgusting as you, either, " I reply, a smirk on my face. The soldier scowls.
"Kill them!"
Bomani leaps forwards, darting and dodging, surprisingly agile for a pangolin. Ath aims a kick towards a soldier's skull. The blow connects, but she staggers backwards as well. Having an arm as injured as hers is likely making her weaker.
A soldier aims a punch towards me, but my hand shoots out and grabs it midair, twisting it in an unnatural direction. He cries out, but retaliated by drawing a small kinfe and sinking it into my other shoulder. I try to yell out in pain, but it comes out as a growl. A very wolfish growl.
Ath turns her head towards me, startled. Not even a jeuvtar could make a noise like that.
My grip on my instincts had already been weak, and the injury made whatever control I had vanish. My face turns to a snout, my ears become pointed and larger. The nails on my fingers turn even sharper. I grow taller and stonger. I fall forwards, onyo all fours.
A loud and terrifying howl is heard across the night, blossoming in the air like a poisonous flower.
YUS LETS GET THIS ALLEY FIGHT STARTEEEEED!!! Not right now though I am needed elsewhere BUT I shall return! I think...
(August 21, 2018 - 12:10 am)
OKAY I'M HERE!! *Pants for want of breath*
Ath~
A huge wolf advances towards the soldier Jamundi, now a giant canine, was fighting. The soldier retreats quickly, and runs yelling from the alley. Jamundi turns his great big head with big, soft... Yellow eyes towards me. A pleading look gleams from his eyes in the moonlight. Please don't hate me, the eyes beg. I am appalled, but not surprised. Yellow eyes. Like sulphur. I should have known. I smirk and keep fighting to the best of my wounded ability. I have a trick up my own sleeve, but I don't want Jamundi to know until he figure it out himself. I send the leader sprawling with a roundhouse kick to the head, and we all run as fast as we can out of that alley. When we are at a safe distance away and are sure nobody was following us, Bomani, Jamundi, and I duck into an abandoned house. Slowly, Jamundi's features turn human like again. I turn away from him to hunt though my bag for more gauze for my arm, but he senses my carefully hidden distress and grabs my hand.
"Ath, I'm sorry. I meant to tell you. And Bomani." At tge mention of his name Bomani comes bounding into the room. He barely stops to type on his Cypher.
"Hey guys come see what I found!" He scuttles out of the room again. Jamundi looks imploringly I to my eyes. I slip my hand out of his and try to smile.
"I don't know what you mean-" Jamundi kept me from turning to go to Bomani by holding me for me by the shoulders.
"Yes you do, Ath. I saw your face when I let myself slip into wolf form. You were appalled, Ath. I never want to see you upset with me. Too many people already have been." He looks like he wants to tell me something else as well, something very important, but he doesn't he fights it back, whatever it was, and goes to join Bomani, leaving me standing there, wondering.
~~
(August 28, 2018 - 1:54 am)
Jamundi ~~
"Yes you do, Ath. I saw your face when I let myself slip into wolf foem. You werw appalled, Ath. I never want to see you upset with me. Too many people already have beeb." I consider warning her that I might go feral . That I might try to kill her and Bomani. And that I have a daylight form as well --but I don't. Bomani is waitinh, and Ath hates me enough as it is.
I release my grip on Ath's shoulders and walk towards Bomani. Ath lingers behind, before following us, trailing behind. Bomanj leads us into another room, appearing to be some sort of bedroom. The bed, however, lacks blankets. The mattress has a large rotted hole in it. On the floor lays a moth-eaten blanket that looks like, maybe twenty years ago, it was blue.
Bomani hold points at something on the floor. A footprint , in the dust..... A bloody footprint. And it looks brand-new.
"Somebody's here," Bomani types .
"Oh Claaws. It looks like they....killed somebody," Ath says behind us. Looking at the blood reminds me of the countless nights I lost all control and killed so many in my wolf form , their screams-- I shake my head, clearing the memories.
From above us is a snarl noise, and an ominous drip, drip, drrriiip. I look back down at the blanket. There seems to be some sort of thing under it--
"Oh Claaws. "
Ath and Bomani look at me. I point at the blanket. Ath makes a strange noise.
Underneath the rotting blanket is the dead body of a human girl.
~~~
(August 28, 2018 - 3:13 pm)
Ath~
A girl's body. A human girl's body. Instead of horror and nausea, anger floods my soul. I growl, not wolfishly, like Jamundi did back in the alley, but it's almost... Draconic. It's muffled though, so it sounds more like a really low grunt. Another snarl from above. I look up. In the dilapitated rafters above us, I see two red eyes glinting down at us. A humanoid wolf drops down in front of us. From its throat issues a demonic-sounding voice.
"Jamundi. Nice to see you again." The humanoid's hands pulsate, for a second becoming paws. Jamundi staggers.
"Are you the werewolf that-"
"Yessss, I am, ha ha!" The monster's hellfire eyes flash as he laughs a horribly twisted thing of a laugh. My anger bubbles over and without warning, I spring at the creature's throat. My fingers become wickedly curved claws, but nobody can see that since my hands are buried in the creature's fur. The demon wolf screams and Jamundi cries out as he attacks with me. Bomani draws his swords, but by then Jamundi and I have already given the creature fatal wounds. To finish it off, I slit its hideous throat. Before my claws are visible outside the wolf's fur, they change back into my normal fingers. As the monster sinks to the ground, we all stand there, breathing heavily.
~~
(August 29, 2018 - 6:10 pm)
Jamundi~~
I stare at the form of the creature, panting. I remember that were wolf. He was another experiment. He tried to kill me.
Twice now.
I scan Ath. No jeuvtar could have been able to do that with their regular nails. My brain slowly whirrs, and there is something nagging at me.
However, our attention is diverted as we hear loud footsteps. Bomani climbs onto a windowsill and peers through the blind. Ath and I bend over and look as well. Outside are several of Catastrophe's soldiers. They patrol the street, likely making sure that nobody is out after curfew.
"Ugh, I hate them," Bomani types , turing the volume much lower on his small voice-making machine.
I nod. "Agreed." Ath says .
We watch as an innocent woman steps outside of her rather worn house. Her face pales when she sees the soldiers.
"Hey, you! What do you think you're doing? You shouldn't be out at this time! Didn't you hear about the curfew?" A soldier yells . The woman lets out a terrified whimper.
White flashes in my vision and I take a step back, closing my eyes. I can't go feral. Not now, while Ath and Bomani's onlh escale would be to run to the soldiers.
There is the noise of a whip cracking. I growl, a very wolfish growl. But it's different than the time I morphed in the alley. It sounds much more violent.
This time, I'm going feral.
~~~
(August 30, 2018 - 6:34 pm)
Tee hee, not that YOU know of, Jamundi.
Ath~
The sound of a whip and an old lady's scream rips through the air. I wince. Jamundi shudders, and a feral growl oozes out from behind his clenched teeth. Oh no.
"Not now, Jamundi!" I tackle him to the best of my strength, pinning him to a wall. "Bomani! Keep him here against the wall!" The pangolin draws his swords. I can see fur beginning to grow on Jamundi's face.
"Ath, is there any cure to werewolfishness??" Bomani types. My eyes grow dark and I grit my teeth.
"Yes. And I know where to get it." The pangolin's eyes grow wide.
"Ath, you can't go out there! The soldiers-"
"I won't go far, and I'll go out the back door." I run out. I hope Bomani can keep Jamundi in one place... I shake my head and slip out of the back door, but that's where I stop. I uncover some bare skin and focus. Pink skin turns silver and scaley. I clench my jaw. This is going to hurt. Grabbing two scales, I pull. Hard. With a spurt of silver blood, the two scales come away. I wrap the new wound in gauze. I look at the wound. It's on my arm, in almost the exact place the bullet wound is. I grin despite my immense pain. Then, I remember why I pulled the scales off. Jamundi. I dash back into the dilapidated house. Jamundi look exactly like the creature we just killed, only on all fours. I run to him and shove the scales in his mouth. He bites them viciously. Suddenly, his wolfish features retract, and he becomes a boy again. He spits the scales out and pants for breath. Bomani inspects the scales closely.
"Dragon scales? Ath, where did you get these? Dragons are rare, especially silver ones." I shrug.
"Nowhere of consequence. I've had them for a while." I turn to Jamundi. "The cure is temporary. To fully cure you I would need-" Jamundi cuts me off.
"Dragon head scales. I know. I was a healer." His brow furrows. "Where did these scales come from?" I shrug again, but internally there is a spark of fear and embarrassment. Both Bomani's eyes and Jamundi's eyes narrow. Bomani speaks.
"And where did you get that other wound on you arm?" The spark grows a little.
"It got caught on a sharp peice of wood that I passed too close to." They eye me suspiciously.
(August 31, 2018 - 11:48 am)
Jamundi ~
"It got caught on a sharp piece of wood I passed too close to," Ath says. I give her suspicious look , and sigh.
My mouth is still filled with the strange taste of dragon scales. To be fully cured, not onlh would I need dragon head scales, but ten, and all from different dragons.
"We should try to get some sleep," I suggest. Bomani nods , as does Ath.
~~~
Bomani~~
About twenty minutes later, Ath and Jamundi are sleeping. I stand, perched on the stair railing, watchihg, makinh sure there's no danger.
There is rustling from upstairs.
I climb up the railing, leaping onto the second floor. There is a drip...drip...drip cominh from a doorless room. Inside, there is a bathroom. The sink is rusted, and dusty, with several cobwebs. But there is also rather recent bloodstains in the basin, and the spout is dripping water. Someone was here, verh recently.
Then there's the sound of a scream.
~~~
I imagine that perhaps the werewolf wasn't alone...
