Normality (though not
Normality (though not really)
Ah yes, I believe that it’s time we take a new approach to this whole war. Why don’t we each make one character that is not a Resistance soldier or a soldier of Catastrophe or a part of the Kyngdom Council or even a part of the ongoing war? Maybe we can write through the POV of a character watching all of this unfold and how the war is affecting their lives. So maybe you’ll create a peasant, or a student, or a duchess. Maybe you’ll create a normal Homo Avian, Dolor Felis, or Anthro. Whatever it may be, let your creativity soar in the POV of someone different. I urge you to take part in this new project. We will write character sheets and RP here.

Oh sorry. I’m not sure yet, because no one else is posting, and I wanted to give them a chance to post before moving on. Can they meet later down the road?
(May 15, 2018 - 1:14 pm)
Yeah I was planning on stalking you for a little while like Bomani is, figuring out your character and stuff. :)

Bomani ~
Fine then. But he careful.
I don't like the idea of Cindy stayiny here for any longer. The was darkness floating in the airq, and it seeped into everything. Something else just as bad was going to happen. I could tell. A feeling writhed inside me like a deranged snake. I shouldn't have said that Cindy could stay longer.
~~~
Aaaaand I'm out of ideas.
Cindy~~~
I look around uneasily, somthing was going to happen. I drop the cookie I'd been holding, sundenly not hungry. Then, the soilders march in. A moment of silence, then everyone scearms as they're grabbing people and handcuffing them. I scream and race away, easily pushing through the crowd. I stop and watch sadly as people are marched off into the night. Then, I look down and relize Bomani is missing.
ok, I literally haven’t posted on this thread in forever, so I feel like it’s about time. I’m going to go with Moonfrost’s post, but if we want to change it that’s ok.
Winona~
The lights begin to be shut off in the square as people move towards their homes. The band starts to pack up, and the voices slowly lower to a low murmur instead of a roar.
I turn to the rest of the group and smile.
“Well, we can all come to my house and eat some cake. You know, end the evening with a better note than this.” I try to sound encouraging, but it comes out as kind of feeble and pathetic.
Sera smiles appreciatively at me, but I can tell it takes effort. She’s still pretty shaken from the effects of the prank. Aren’t we all.
Orion clears his throat. “Yes, let’s go to Winona’s. We’re not doing much good just standing around here.”
Rowan nods and with that we start to move towards one of the narrow streets that branch off from the main square.
All of a sudden the noise of marching boots and screams fills the night. The small crowd that was left in the square surges forward, and between the fleeing people I see soldiers in Catastrophe’s uniform holding guns. They grab anyone who is near and begin dragging them towards the other end of the square.
The mob of people hits us, and in the confusion I feel Orion grab onto my arm and and pull me close, preventing me from being trampled by the mass of frantic townspeople. I see a small girl being grabbed roughly by a soldier and thrown over his soldier, her wails for her mother falling on his deaf ears. A gunshot sounds out above our heads, increasing the panic of the people around us trying to get into the small side roads.
“Where’s Sera and Rowan?!” I yell at Orion, trying to be heard over the crowd. “What’s going on?!!”
“I don’t know!” he replies, his voice hoarse. “I think their surrender to Sera was just a bluff and now they’re punishing us!!”
It’s then that I see my sister, Eloise, in the line of captured people at the other end of the square. She must have come to the festival without me knowing, and now she was being taken away by the soldiers.
“ELOISE!!!!” I scream, breaking out of Orion’s grasp and running through the crowd. I hear Orion yell my name and chase after me, but I don’t listen. I trip on a loose stone in the cobbled street, falling down hard, but I get up and keep running anyways.
I reach the edge of the crowd just as Orion catches up to me. He grabs my arms and holds me back, even though I scream at him to let me go. I’m crying now and my knee is bleeding, but I don’t care. I scream Eloise’s name again, and this time she hears me.
She raises her head and meets my eyes, then shakes her head as if to tell me not to come. I see her fear in the way that she stands as the soldiers clap large iron handcuffs on her wrists, but she tries to smile a reassuring smile anyways.
“Let me go!!” I scream at Orion, but he just shakes his head and holds on tighter. His grip is too strong this time, so all I can do is watch as my sister is led with all of the other captives out of the square and into the darkness.
Whoa...things just got exciting here, didn't they?!
(June 26, 2018 - 2:28 pm)
Bomani~
A second gunshot rings out, and my panicking only continues to increase. Did they shoot her?
I have to find Cindy. I can't bear not knowing what's happening to her. I hear screaming as captives--mostly young children--are handcuffed. I see a girl--I'm nearly certain it's Winona--being held back by the boy I think is Orion. She's screaming about ssome Eloise girl.
I pray for Cindy's safety and hide in an overturned cardborad box, near a dumpster in a dark alley. Several soldiers pass by, dragging along a sobbing boy who couldn't have been older than 5. Altough I wasn't exactly a huge fan of the Resistance, I now undertood that Catastrophe and his army were monsters.
The soldiers shot for everybody to gather in the town square, and anybody who doesn't attend shall be shot. People walk out of their houses i nightclpthes, panicked, tired, and frightened. There is a good deal of screaming and crying.
"This is what you deserve for that little stunt some of you pulled off," A soldier yells.
A little girl is pushed forwards.
"This girl is only three," A soldier yells. Wait--no. They can't be doing this to a three-year old girl. Even I don't kill people that young.
Another pulls out his gun.
Stop!
Everybody freezes to look at me, the little pangolin who must use a machine to speak. Only a monster would kill a girl that innocent and youthful.
The soldier stops to laugh.
Cindy~~~
I watch in fear as the soldiers grab a little boy, the laugh as they pull out a gun. I can see Bomani try and defend the boy. I look aroun in panic and start pulling wires out of my pocket.
"Let's see here... ahh here we go, better hurry." I mutter to myself.
I look down at my hodgepod creation and smile, although it's crude it should work. I shake it up and pull out a pin. I toss it into the square and everybody pauses to look at the little round ball. Then, it snaps open and shoots out a cloud of fog. Soon the square is covered inmisty fog. I creep through the crowd until I reach the little boy. I grab him and drag him away. Everyone is escaping while the soldiers are distracted.
"Go home." I tell him.
He nods and rushes into the crowd. I sprinkle some powder on the ground and light a match.
"Let's see them try to stop this fire." I say.
I toss the match onto the dust and it catches fire instaly, but doesn't catch anything else on fire. The soldiers are running, trying to put out the fire. I slip into the buildings, heading home.
Ath~
The entire square has erupted into pandemonium. I love it. Twirling and dodging around fleeing citizens, I make my way to the dozens of abandoned food stands. I pinch all kinds of food, all of them left and forgotten in the chaos. With my bag full of food, I pursue those kids who pulled the prank earlier.
~~
No idea.
(July 7, 2018 - 4:24 pm)
Bomani~
Smoke fills the streets, and not long after, fire. In the chaos, I slip away, and snatch all the shiny trinkets people dropped in their haste. I glance up and see a girl snatching food from all the abandoned booths. Ah, somebody else who thinks like me.
I follow the food-snatching girl, unable to find Cindy. I suppose Cindy will just have to wait until morning.
The food-snatching girl doesn't seem to notice me, until she slows down a little. I catch up to her, and she glances down at me.
Hello.
She looks down at me. "Hello."
~~~
I really wanted them to meet.
(July 18, 2018 - 5:57 pm)
Ath~
A pangolin, all dressed up in ninja outfit, has followed me into my hideout. He types furiously on his Cypher.
"My name is Bomani. What is yours?" His machine says.
"Ath-Hailiah." I shrug. "Ath for short." I put a small chunk of mango on the ground, and Bomani slurps up every ant that comes. I watch in amuzement as he tries to lick off an ant that is crawling between his eyes. "So. What are you here for?" Bomani flinches and his shoulders sag.
"I'm supposed to be here to kill somebody, but I'm not sure I want to anymore." I pop a grape into my mouth.
"Ah. An assasin who delayed... I assume. I find it is harder to kill someone innocent when you have seen how the deal with life." Bomani nods eagerly. Again, his claws fly over the little typewriter... Thing.
"Yes! Finally! Someone who understands! As soon as I saw you I knew you think like me!" I laugh quietly.
"You must have seen me stealing food. Hey, I'm an opportunist." I raise my hands into the air. Bomani's pangolin mouth curls into what I think is a smile. The chaos outside has died down a little bit. I peek out through a crack in the boards that make our hideout. The soldiers are shoving people this way and that, and one of the kids I saw earlier is dragging another one of their band away, screaming and hysteric. Bomani must have seen them too, because suddenly he slithered around me and tried to go out, but I caught him around the shoulders. His heavy pangolin scales make it hard to hold onto him.
"Hold on, Bomani! There's a better way to do this." My wrapped hands tuck the rest of the food into my pack, and promptly I point to the wall behind us, heavily overgrown with creeper plants. Underneath all the foliage is a plant fence - one of those things that upward-growing plants like to twist themselves up on for support. Even I, sitting two feet away from it, can barely see the wood through the leaves. Bomani nods. I start up first. Winding my way easily through the vines, eventually I stand on the roof of some building. Bomani follows suit. For a pangolin, he is amazingly agile. Of course, you would need to be if you were an assasin. I look down at the burning streets below. Then, I spot the two kids. Using hand signals, I tell Bomani which way we need to go. He gives me a thumbs up. I look down the slope of the roof and the distance between this one and the next.
"How fast are you, Bomani?"
"Fast enough to jump from roof to roof." I like how he can guess what I'm thinking.
"Good. You'll need to be." Then, without further ado, I sprint down the tiles on the roof. At the last second, I jump. After sailing through the air for a few seconds, I land on the roof of the next building. I turn back and beckon Bomani. He pelts down the tiles on all fours. After landing beside me, he smiles triumphantly. I smile back at him, but that smile fades when a soldier's bullet goes through my left arm and silver blood begins trickling down my sleeve.
