SailHaven

(I will do an explaination, then people can add to the story.)

SailHaven is my home city. It is a floating city, with a network of tunnels, allowing crime syndicates to evolve. The scientists there mostly develop implants, like blades in arms, or wearable tech, like monicles with lenses for seeing in the dark and stuff like that. I got exiled after creating blades that could be installed in arms, but they worked like a cat's claws, and could be hidden completely. After several assassinations, they had to punish me for making them.

I sigh.

"I don't want to part with another shipment of the goo. You know that." I say plainly. "Well, sir, we might have a deal. That's what they call you now, isn't it? Ever since your wife died?" I slam my fist into his crate.

"Leave my family out of it." I hiss in a low tone. "Touchy, aren't you..?" I move my fist to punch him in the face, but he grabs my wrist. "Take the Aether, but I'll require payment." I smile and slam a gold coin on the table. Ancient. Priceless...my third one from my collection. "Ever seen one of those before?" I ask, taking the crate.

He grins his vile grin. "Nice doing buisness with you, Proffessor." "Wish I could say the same."

Boss and I finally decide that the owl will provide a distraction while I get some dinner. I set the owl down. "I'm so sorry I have to do this, but how else am I supposed to help you heal?" I whisper instructions to her and get ready. The owl gives in. She hops over to a stand and softly hoots. The owner of the stand(OTS) looks down. "Well well well," he chuckles, bending down. "What do we have here?" And then I grab some fruits, stuff them in my pockets, and act innocent. Best of all, the OTS gives her some grapes. For free! I let her climb onto my shoulder and we started to skate back  to the hideout. But again, a blade whizzes near my head, to close for comfort. And more. I skate faster. Then I call Boss. "Leader," I say frantically. "Someone is chasing us! I need advice!"  There is a pause. "Leader?" "Take a detour and try to lose the person." He finally answers. "Even sacrifice a few foods if you must. Whatch out!" I swerve to the left, narrowly avoiding another throw. The owl jumps off my shoulder-And morphs into a girl!!! "He wants me." She says flatly. "I suggest you run." I gape. "You can't just-" Then a figure comes out from the shadows. He pulls back his hood. "Nice try Owl girl," he says. "But both of you are coming with me." I call Boss hurriedly. "Leader, I'm down." He pulls out tranquilizer darts, takes aim, and throws. A perfect shot. It's Elliot!

Pulling the communicator from the gang member's arm. Why is it so easy for me to take them down?

Rae and I walk down the street towards the pawn shop. I hope that she makes up her decision soon because I don't know if my friend will help us.

I enter the shop and head to the back. The shop is filled with small trinkets and collecters items. Rae stops to look at a glass bird with gears showing inside, but I pull her on.

We reach the back counter and ring the tiny bell on the desk. "Mazie?!" I yell."Where are you?"

A figure pops up from behind the counter. Rae jumped in surprise.

"Sprocket!" the person exclaimes in delight.

Mazie was a short dark skinned woman with bright orange hair. She was in her twenties, and she had a wild look in her eyes. She was dressed like a typical steampunk hippy with wavey clothes and cog jewlry.

"Who's your friend Sprocket?" she questioned." I am so glad you came to see me."

I take in a deep breath and say," Mazie, we need to operate code 493 and quick."

She looks surprised, but leads us to the back of the shop. Pressing a couple of buttons on a control panel, she whirred a lever and a secret door opened."Rae. This is where we will be hiding out till you make your decision."

Rae I really need you to answer or at least contribute. I don't think I can stall any longer.

Sorry Sorry SorryEmbarassed

"We'll stay," I tell Sprocket. "I'm sorry that I tool so so so so so so so so long. It's just . . . well, I have some . . . old friends down in Kygdom and, well, they may or may not have kind of said that they would destroy me and my friends if I went back down. I guess that we should probably go down, but I'm really scared. They would damage us, Sprocket. They'd harm our brains so that our thoughts weren't ours. Do you see why it took so long?" I am sooooooo sooooooooo sorryFrown Sprocket nods. "I guess thats as good a desicion as any!" she says. "But . . . why couldn't we just change our names and clothes so that they wouldn't know who we are?" "That wouldn't work," I tell her. "I'm sorry, but they could go into our minds and find out who we really are.  Then, we'd get into double trouble because we were trying to lie to them. Sprocket, do you know how bad Jakks are?" She nods. "Well," I say, "These creatures are a thousand times worse. Worse than B.I.G., worse than the police, worse than Jakks." "Ok, but you'll have to listen to me!" Sprocket says. "Ive given you more than enough time."

I am so so so so so so so so very sorry that I took so long. I was visiting relitaves, and then I forgot to keep going on. So sorry!

We walk down the steps, Mazie going back to her shop. The steps lead to a room with a bed on one side, a mirror and wash basin against another, and a small chest of drawers on another.

"Where is this place?" Rae asks.

"This is my hideout when things get bad. Mazie let me use her shop as an entrance. There are tunnels that this leads into, but we shouldn't have to use them."

Rae sits down on the bed and I look at her.

"Rae," I say, "I don't think I can keep this up any longer. I think that since you can't decide, we need to go down to Kyngdom for a while. The police are after us, and Elliot is in league with them it looks like. We can't hide Cobalt that easy either. We need to go down to Kyngdom."

Rae I have made my/our decision. You can still change it if you want, but if you don't comment I don't know what I am going to do.Frown

Right. I was told by Elliot that two criminals, with an illegal cyborg, were heading to Kyngdom. I rallied the Animals.

I am not an intentional criminal. In fact, I am rather like robin hood, taking from not nice people or rich citizens. If you were in my situation you would be hard pressed to do anything other than steal.  As for the dog, I will never disable him. You would understand if you had worked long and hard on a creation for years, then finally finishing it and finding it was better than you had hoped. I had reasons to make the dog that you or probably any one else would understand.

Shh. I have something to tell you: Jaaws from Kyngdom had mind controlled me, and I guess the power leaked into SailHaven itself. I am free from it now, and there is a hostile army prepairing to attack SailHaven. I am making a group of advanced artificers, and I want you to lead it. Sound Ok? Meet me in my office soon and reply.

I sat up, groaned, and lay back down. My head was killing me. Then I just happened to look to the other side of the room. Starscar! "What are you doing here!" We both exclaimed at the same time. I sat up strait, she did too. "I'm not talking." I say at the same time she says, "Why would I tell you?" We both stare for a minute. Then we suddenly burst out laughing. This seems to ease us up a bit. I make an offer. "I'm Wiseowl." To my surprise, she gives in. "Elisa," she says. "Starscar is just a gang name." There is an awkward silence. I look down at the same moment she does. "My communicator!" Elisa shouts. At the same moment, I say, "My necklace!" We look at each other in panic. This time we don't laugh. "It's Elliot," she says. "It has to be." I wrinkle my nose in confusion. "Who's Elliot?" "Exiled for making Claw Blades, terrorizer of gangs, and a skilled, unordinary, mechanist and strategist." Elisa says, as if reciting something from the dictionary(yes, I do that[not IRL]). We pause, considering the odds. "My necklaces is my responsibility," I explain, breaking the silence. "I let the Fyre Bird be summoned once, but this is not a good time for a mythical creature go haywire!" I explained the rest quickly. She told me about her communicator. But apparently, she was sort of glad that it was gone except that she could not call 'Boss'(Leader) to alert him of her whereabouts. We laps into silence. The door opens and the figure(Elliot) walks in. "Well well well," He says. "You're finally awake." I cross my arms at the same moment Elisa does. I mean, we are so in sync, it's kind of creepy. I wonder if we have some kind of weird connection. But when I consider this, I looks impossible. I mean, look at her, an adventurous thieving tough gang girl who has an attitude and lives in a run down building that is located in a steampunk city. This is totally the opposite of me, the shy and simple owl morphing girl who lives in a library tree and is a power guardian with singing abilities. Who knew I could end up this way?(NOTE FROM UNSUSPECTINGSTORYTELLER: ha ha, they do have a connection, I am both of their story tellers.
