How come forecasters alway predict- no, not predict. How come forecasters always warn you about flash floods and tornados, but never warn you that after a tornado all your belongings might fall out of the sky. That's exactly what happened on the day my life turned upside-down. Literally upside-down.

"Amitty! A tornado is coming! Fetch Goldie and get in the cellar. Daddy and I will be there in a minute..." But they didn't come. Goldie and I waited an hour, all the time wishing that nothing had happened. Well, Mom and Dad finally came, and Dad said that the tornado had come unexpectedly, so they'd had to hide in their closet.
If you're still reading this, and not getting scared off, I'll give you a warning. This was not the worst part of my tale. That came three days later.
Ok I aM noW donE. If you Liked this, recommend it to your friends. If you Hated it, recommend it to your enEmies.

OH MY GOSH VIOLET YOU'RE BACK!!! YEAH!!!! *starts jumping around in circles while clapping* I was so sad when this thread died. IT SHALL BE REVIVED!!!
Lydia ~
I could tell Zada was still struggling with last night. I could also tell Amitty was curious as well. I wasn't the trusting type, so I kept my mouth shut. She didn't seem like rude kind get-in-your-business type person, but then again, I'd delt with the whole popular or nosy type people, and I knew, once one thing is out, and people change in a flash. Besides, I hardly knew the girl.
After a pretty awesome breakfast of pancakes (I seriously love pancakes too, Violet! And if you have them for dinner, with bacon!... *commences drooling*), Zada and I walked into the living room. Amitty followed, and immediately started asking questions. I looked at Zada, exchanging a silent conversation. Amitty seemed to read our faces pretty well, cause she said; "It's okay to trust me, I won't tell anyone! Promise!" I still wasn't ready to tell her, but I knew she would still ask questions, and maybe even try to find other ways of where we were, if we didn't tell her something.
"We went out for a bit," I started carefully. "Zada and I were still having trouble getting used to a new home, so we went out for a bit, a short stroll." Zada nodded in agreement. I could tell Amitty didn't really buy it, but she left it alone, at least for now.
Before any of us could do anything, Mr. Lastion came in. "You girls ready to move into your new room?" He directed at Zada and I. I don't know why, but this struck me slightly. Your room, he said. I knew all girls had "their rooms," I just ever really been able to say that. I always shared a room with six to eight other girls. Sure, I would be sharing with Kitty and Zada, but this was different. More like I really did own it, or partly. I then noticed Kitty standing behind him, looking at us questioningly. "Yeah," Zada and I smiled, and followed him out of the room.

Lydia had just finished CAREFULLY saying where they were last night. I was a little skeptical, but I left it alone because I knew that they would only avoind my questions.
Then my dad walked in. "Are you girls ready to move into your new room?" He asked Lydia and Zada. I then noticed Kitty standing behind him looking a little worried. "Yeah," said Lydia and Zada, and Kitty looked, well, relieved!
After they left with my dad, I just stood there, a little stunned, and then collapsed onto the couch.

Yay! I believe this was the first RP I ever posted on... So glad it's back!
Zada carried her ski bag with her foils upstairs from the basement, her head spinning. She was moving into a new house! Already! She... she couldn't believe it. She hated the tornado that had destroyed her family, but she had a feeling she would be happy here, someday. Someday, she might even be friends with Ammitty. Lydia didn't trust her a pinch, but Zada wanted to be friends. She wanted to be friends with Ammitty, share a room with Kitty and Lydia, and have moments of her life where she could forget the things that made her want to cry.
Zada opened the door to the attic. She was arriving behind Lydia and Kitty because she had insisted on getting her ski bag.
She took one step into the room, and dropped her bag. The room was purple, with three beds, one for each of them. It was a wonderful room, but that wastn't what made her drop the bag.
"We heard he was yours," smilled Ammitty's father, "so we 'adopted' him too."
Zada ran over to the bed that had to be hers and hugged the cage with Mr. Snowman.

Lydia ~
As soon as I stepped into the room, the first thing I noticed was a large cage that held something large, white, and extremely fluffy. Zada shot forward, evidently extremely happy to see whatever it was.
"Mr. Snowman!" She said, simply making me wonder all the more. She pulled the thing out of the cage, and I realized it was a rabbit. Amitty's father explained that they had heard it was Zada's, and had decided to adopt it. I gently rubbed the rabbit's head, then sat down on the middle bed. Kitty had already claimed the bed nearest the door, and was stretched out quite contentedly.
Amitty's father laughed. "I'll leave you girls to get settled," and he headed down the stairs.
"Well this isn't so bad," Kitty said. Zada was sitting on the floor, cuddling the rabbit. I didn't say anything. It was still all too new to me. In a way, I missed the orphanage. It's familiarity. The kids there. My favorite window seat. Everything. Here, it all so fast paced. I could hardly catch my breath.
That night, we all lay in bed, I couldn't get my mind to settle. Thoughts kept running through my head so fast, I thought I'd go crazy. Finally, I got to where I couldn't stand it. I quietly got up, and slipped out the door.

YES! It's amazing we did!
Violet, do you want me to go ahead and write again, or would you like to write next?

Okay, wow. It's been awhile. Let's see if I can fall back into character.
Lydia ~
I moved soundlessly down the stairs, the darkness like ink. At the bottom, I followed the hallway to the kitchen. Here, moonlight shown through the windows, making it easier to see. I quietly unlocked the door, and moved onto the porch. I sat down on the swing and gazed up at the moon, which was nearly full.
I pictured what the kids at the orphanage were doing. Most of them would be sleeping, though a few of the older ones might be playing a late night round of cards. Gabriel included. I'd never known how to play, not that I cared much for poker or anything like that, but I'd enjoyed watching. At first, Gabriel had tried to tell me I was too young to be up, but he'd soon discovered I wasn't one to listen to people.
"Can't sleep?" a voice said from the kitchen door. I started, but saw it was only Zada. She came and sat down beside me, Mr. Snowman cuddled in her arms. We sat in silence for several minutes before she said,
"You don't trust this family much, do you?"
I sighed and shrugged.
"I'm not totally sure how to feel. I mean, it's kind of obvious Amitty doesn't like us. And I'm just used to being... alone, not part of a family or anything. Besides, everybody leaves eventually, so how can I be expected to get attached?"
After several moments of quiet, Zada asked, "Do you think Kitty and I will leave you?"
"I... I don't know," I whispered back. I didn't want to think they would, but life was in the habbit of separating me from people I cared about. Zada stood up, still cradling Mr. Snowman. She offered me her hand. I smiled and stood up, following her back inside. I really did care about her and Kitty. I was determined to keep us friends.
***
The following morning, I looked felt like I hadn't slept at all. I was constantly pestered with dreams.
"I was thinking we'd go out hiking today," Mr. Lastion said smiling at the breakfast table.
We exchanged comments of happiness at the idea, and after breakfast, promptly changed into hiking clothes.
I pulled on a pair of denim shorts and a dark blue t-shirt with black butterflies spread out across it.
"Ready?" Amitty asked, poking her head in the door.
"Yes!" Zada and Kitty said in unison. I simply nodded, tying my sneaker laces. How this day was going to go, I had no idea.
