How come forecasters alway predict- no, not predict. How come forecasters always warn you about flash floods and tornados, but never warn you that after a tornado all your belongings might fall out of the sky. That's exactly what happened on the day my life turned upside-down. Literally upside-down.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
"Amitty! A tornado is coming! Fetch Goldie and get in the cellar. Daddy and I will be there in a minute..." But they didn't come. Goldie and I waited an hour, all the time wishing that nothing had happened. Well, Mom and Dad finally came, and Dad said that the tornado had come unexpectedly, so they'd had to hide in their closet.
If you're still reading this, and not getting scared off, I'll give you a warning. This was not the worst part of my tale. That came three days later.
Ok I aM noW donE. If you Liked this, recommend it to your friends. If you Hated it, recommend it to your enEmies.

Darn. Oh well. Please people, if someone doesn't add to this thread soon, I will!
I tried again with my picture, but I don't think it worked. I was expecting that.
(January 19, 2013 - 11:11 am)
Sorry Lexi! I don't see it, but I can imagine her pretty well, the way you described her! Also, thank you about my character! It's always nice to get a compliment about my writing! That's me too. I want it to keep going, but I don't want to use someone else's character! SO FRUSTRATING!!! Ugh! Well, anyway, maybe, at least for now, we can keep the story going between us! Maybe Zada and Lydia could live in the same town and somehow meet? I don't know, suggestions? Anyway! Just keep writing, anything, to keep this thread from dying! Also, I also have a thread going in Inkwell that could always use more characters! Its under; I was thinking... Maybe you could check it out! You could just jump in if you want to!
(January 19, 2013 - 12:56 pm)
You might not like this suggestion at all, but I was thinking that somehow Zada ends up at the orphanage because everyone thinks that her parents are dead or missing, but I don't know how that works. I'll try writing a paragraph about it.
Zada had been through lots of hardships that day. The lawyers and the social workers argued, while she sat in the corner and played with Mr. Snowman. She wasn't listening, and after at least an hour, she saw one of the people beckoning her to the meeting.
"Listen, Zada. We've decided the best place for you right now is the orphanage down the block."
"But my PARENTS AREN'T DEAD! WHY DOESN'T ONE OF YOU GO AND CHECK?!"
"We have orders to wait until the rubble is cleared. It could be dangerous."
"And my parents COULD BE DYING!" Zada shot an infurried look at the lawers and social workers and people of all kinds.
"Zada, I'm Mrs. Andrew," one of the women introduced herself. "I'm the orphanage director. You'll only be there until your parents are found--"
"Fine," snapped Zada, extremly cross. Someone took Mr. Snowman away and promised he'd be in "good hands." They tried to take away Zada's bag, but she wouldn't let them.
(Later that day)
Zada sat in a corner of the orphanage, not even trying to make friends. That was when a little girl walked over and asked Zada to tie her shoe. Zada, not wanting to let the little girl down, agreed to do so.
"You tie shoes better than Gabriel!" the little girl exclaimed, and soon Zada found herself with a line of younger children lined up to get her shoes tied, and a sudden thought.
Who is Gabriel?
(January 20, 2013 - 10:18 am)
Ooh! I like the idea of Zada being at the orphanage with Lydia!
Lydia sat at her favorite seat in the orphanage, the bay window seat gazing out at the long, dirt road that lead up to the orphanage front porch. The outside was a weather beaten white, with a wrap-around porch, and several rocking chairs, so it kinda looked like some bed & breakfast you'd see on a post card on the beach. Lydia watched out of the corner of her eye as Gabriel walked by, probably making sure that she wasn't doing anything psychotic since Mrs. Andrew wasn't here, and only the assistant director was watching the kids. Mrs. Andrew had gone into the city to pick up another orphan. One the tornado caused. Suddenly, the orphanage van came down the long drive and stopped in front of the porch. Mrs. Andrew climbed out, then helped a girl, maybe Lydia's age, out of the car. She had long dark hair, dark eyes, and some sort of bag with her. Lydia watched her come up the porch and heard her enter. All the kids came into the main foyer to see the new kid. "This is Zada," Mrs. Andrew said, her hand on Zada's shoulder. "She'll be here, at least a while, until her parents are located." She led her into the living room where I sat. She sat down in the corner, not talking or looking at anybody. Lydia didn't say anything. Gabriel would come and introduce her to everybody (except probably Lydia, he wouldn't want her first friend her being some "crazy" girl, as everybody thought her). But after a while, Gabriel didn't come. A little girl, Lily, was her name, came up to Zada and asked her to tie her shoe. She did. "Wow, you tie shoes better than Gabriel!" She skipped off, and a line of little kids came up to have their shoes tied. Wow, THERE was a compliment, to be told you do something better than Gabriel! After all the kids had left, Zada looked a little lonely, and Lydia's soft, gentle side got the better of her. "Well, if Gabriel won't properly introduce her to everyone, someone's got to, right?" Lydia thought to herself. She took a deep breath, introductions really weren't her thing, but... She got up and walked over to Zada. "Hi, I'm Lydia."
Okay, long yes, necessary maybe, boring no. I'll let you Lexi introduce Zada to Lydia.
(January 20, 2013 - 5:20 pm)
Yay! Thanks!
"Hi," said Zada a little nervously when a girl her age introduced herslef as Lydia. "I--uh--my name is Zada," she said and quickly averted her eyes. Lydia smiled incouragingly, and Zada couldn't help but feel the urge to laugh. The tow of them, not even able to introduce themselves properly. She let a giggle escsape her lips, the first since the tornado, and it soon turned to full out laugher. Lydia joined in too, and they laughed their heads off, barely knowing why.
Zada smiled and Lydia smiled back, and for the first time since almost a day ago, but felt like a century ago, she felt at peace with herself. She even was enjoying herself a little bit.
They then paused for a short while, since neither of the girls knew where to start a conversation. Zada noticed Lydia's eyes move towards her ski bag.
"What's in the bag? Did they really let you bring skis?"
"No-no it's noting," said Zada, perphaps a little too quickly, as she tried to chang the subject. "I wouldn't let them take this after they took Mr. Snowman, my rabbit."
"Oh," said lydia, since there really was no reply to that.
"So do you know who Gabriel is? Some little girl said I could tie shoes better than he. I already feel superior," Zada sarcaticly commented.
"He's just this guy," said Lydia, redding a bit at her lame explaination. "He helps the other kids."
"And he doesn't tie shoelaces as well as I," said Zada trumphantintly, making a victory fit pump in the air. Both girls nearly collasped from laughter. It wasn't much, but it was something happy and silly to cling to.

Are you talking about the super-powered people thread? I started that one, actually. Unless you've been paying absolute attention to Rockey's Hi I'm New thread in Chirp at Cricket, you probaby didn't know that Lexi and Theo W. are the same person. I like to keep my two differnt psydonyms in separate threads.
(January 21, 2013 - 12:37 pm)
No, this one is about a bunch of people from different places in time coming to the present. They're all related somehow to someone famous. It's here in Inkwell. No, also, I haven't managed to keep up with Rocky's thread unfortunately, but nice to know who you "both" are! :-) Sorry, can't write more now!
(January 21, 2013 - 9:33 pm)
That one was too devolped for me! It sounded really cool, but it was too much! I read the first page and part of the last page, and was, frankly, inspired to join and thinking that it was too late now!

Ok, you guys might not like this idea, but... Here goes. Lexi's character's parents can't be found, but, since my character (lucky girl) still has parents and a house, my character's parents adopt you guys.
And, I'm sorry I disappeared, but I'll get on my computer later, maybe tomorrow, and I'll write my part of the story. Also, please please please keep chatting to a min. And if a thread needs reviving, post the link and a synopsis of the thread on my mission.
Thanks, Violet (wishing myself across the world)

Ok, I'm sorry if you don't like this idea, but we all have to meet up somehow… So… Here goes…
My idea, is that I'm the only character who actually has parents and a house, so the rest of you guys are in the orphanage, and my parents come to the orphanage wanting to help you people like you out, and I come along, and we end up adopting the rest of you. Sound good so far? Well if it does, then you'll love this part, you're going to get to live in an upside down house!
There are certainly enough bedrooms, but the weird thing is you'll be walking on popcorn floor and there will be carpet on the ceiling! And every time you try to take a bath, you'll end up taking a shower instead!
So does it still sound good? In that case, yes, I guess it's a good idea that my character's parents are the only ones living. The End! But wait, there's more! I don't like you guys at first but then as the days go by we become friends and then almost sisters. But of course there has to be more to the story, there has to be something else… But, that can wait for another idea brainstorm!
Thanks, Violet (Wishing myself across the world)

Kitty~
The storm struck while Mama was out getting milk and other supplies. Gertrude and I hid under a blanket until it was over. I've only lived through one other tornado that was as big as that one, but I knew it was going to be scary. I can still remember the ear-splitting sounds that rang out while we were under there.
"When's Mama getting home?" Gertrude asked me.
"I don't know," I replied, "I hope she's okay."
The house had stayed up just like Mama said it would. Gertrude and I patiently waited for Mama to get home, but she still hadn't by midnight. Then I put Gertrude in her cage and fell asleep.
I woke up to someone knocking on the door.
"Hello? Hello? Kitty, are you in there?" someone called. I peeked through the peephole. I had never seen the woman standing on the other side in my life.
I didn't respond. "Kitty, Barbara Jackson sent me," she said. That's Mama's name.
"How do you know her?" I asked.
"She was in her car when the tornado hit. A telephone pole hit the car. She was badly injured, but she's okay now. However, she won't be able to take care of you for a few months. I've talked to her, and we've arranged everything so you'll be staying in the orphanage I run for a few months. Just think of it like a summer camp, but during school time."
The phone rang. I looked at Caller ID and discovered it was Mama's cell phone number.
"Mama?"
"Kitty!"
"Hi, Mama!"
"Listen, I have to talk fast. Is Mrs. Andrew there yet?"
"Does she run an orphanage?"
"Yes. Believe in everything she says. I've arranged for you to bring Gertrude. I'll see you soon, honey. I love you."
"But..." There was a click from the other end.
"Mrs. Andrew?"
"Yes, Kitty?"
I sighed. "Let me pack my stuff."

Whoops! I forgot to add that my mission is in DtE and it starts "CALLING ALL BUGGGY POSTERS!" You will have to fill out a mission form to join and then post links to dead awesome threads, and a synopsis of the thread.
Thanks, violet

Lydia and Zada had become pretty good friends. At least, that's what Lydia thought, being as, she had never really had a good friend before. She was so used to keeping everything inside, not talking to anybody, that she found herself telling Zada EVERYTHING! Even, one day, about Jack. She'd never told anybody much about him. But Zada seemed to understand. She listened whole heartedly. And instead of feeling pain talking about her past life, she felt better talking to Zada. One day, Zada and Lydia were sitting in one of two of their favorite spot, the bay window, which was large enough for three people, but just the two sat there. The other spot was over in the corner, where'd they come in possesion of a several pillows, making the spot overly comfy! As they sat, they were watching for Mrs. Andrew. She'd gone out on another tornado case, but this case was different. Her mother wasn't dead, just injured. Suddenly, the tan orphanage van pulled up in front of the porch. A tall girl, with frizzy blonde hair climbed out. Her face was freckled, and she had keen blue eyes that seemed to take in everything. Mrs. Andrew walked in and made the custom introduction and welcome. Turns out the girl's name was Kitty. Mrs. Andrew had to hurry off, leaving Kitty standing in the foyer. She looked around and walked into the living room. She looked at Lydia and Zada...
I having a tricky time with Gabriel's character. I don't know how to bring him back in. He's a big brother character, so I really don't know what to do with him.
Cappie says gxmd. That's just how I feel!

Maybe you could bring in Gabreil when he's burning with rage because Zada ties shoelaces better than him! (Okay, that's one of my bad but yet somewhat humerous ideas, at least funny to me)
Zada had been at the orphanage for a few weeks now, and still didn't belive her parents were dead. Apart from that she was having a genuinely good time. Lydia was very sicncere, and Zada like her as a friend. Zada still didn't tell Lydia what was in the bag, but Lydia didn't ask, anyway.
An older boy walked in the room and persistantly ignored Zada and Lydia. "That's the guy you bested tieing shoes laces," Lydia whispered.
"Gabriel?" Zada whispered back.
{Then Gabriel ran up to them with a crazed look on his face. "WHY DO YOU DARE TIE SHOELACES BETTER THAN I?" he snareled at Zada, saliva dripping out of the side of his mouth. "I can't help that my shoe lace tieing powers are better than yours!" whimpered Zada. "Well then, prepare to--"}
That's where I cut that off because it never really happened, it was just really really fun to write.
Back to the story.
"Yes, Gabriel," Lydia whispered back. Gabreil semmed to hear them.
"Were you guys talking about me?" he said sternly, but playfully.
"I just wanted to know who you were," Zada whinned.
"Well it sounds like you know now," he said, rasing an eyebrow.
"I tie shoelaces better than you," Zada blurted.
"That's what some people say," ventured Gabriel, and he walked off leaving them alone, at last.
