Duvessa heard voices scream in her head.
Darken Stone, Darken Stone, it's been taken! the voices hissed, but so many more were yelling about taking it back. Duvessa rushed through the forest, and through the thickly woven trees. There a girl stood, the Darken Stone grasped in her hand. Power surged through Duvessa, as the voices in her head grew even louder. One voice rang strong and clear above the others.
Take it back now! Duvessa lifted her hand, and suddenly, the girl was thrown back, the Darken Stone falling to the ground. Duvessa picked up the Darken Stone, and placed it back onto the pedastal. Vines grew up the pedestal, and grew over the Darken Stone, as if tightening it down to the pedestal so it couldn't move. The girl got up groaning about what happened. She stared at the Darken Stone backs in its place.
" Wha? But.. But I.." the girl mumbled while stepping towards the Darken Stone. Voices started to scream all around Duvessa.
Stop her!
Don't let her touch the Darken Stone!
It is not time yet!
The day draws near!
Duvessa put a hand against the girl's chest. The girl stumbled back, her eyes wide. Duvessa then knew, that she was being shown to the girl, but very faintly. The girl gasped. A voice that wasn't Duvessa's spoke through her.
" Did you think taking the Darken Stone would be easy?" Duvessa asked, her voice sounding much more like a woman than a girl. The girl swallowed, clearly not knowing what to say. But then she spoke.
" Fine. I'll fight for it," the girl said, and brought her fingers up to her mouth as if to whistle.
" No. No shadow pets. You fight on your own," Duvessa said, as a bird screeched, trying to get through the tightly woven trees. The girl's eyes flashed for a moment, then nodded her head.
" Fine." Voices suddenly whispered all around them, both ghost and human could hear.
A fight to the ground.
Like how the earth will become just a mound.
If human wins, she takes the Darken Stone.
But for what? Shortly after she will groan.
Because another has taken it.
And the blackest of all shadows will commence the world to be lit...
With flames.

~ Etta ~
I yanked my dagger from my pocket. I took a deep breath, staring at the girl, who seemed strangly familar.
" I don't believe this, " I muttered. I raised my dagger, about to strike, but she did, first. I ducked her blow, trying to slither down under her guard and hit her. She kicked me, hard, and I glanced down , wondering, as the ghostly foot passed through my stomach. It felt strangly sickening. She raised her dagger and hit. I gasped with pain. That dagger hurt ! I rolled over and kicked her in the foot. It passed right through her. I frowned. Then, I stuck my dagger through her foot. She stared down with a disgusted, amazed expresssion. I tackled her, barely balancing on the cloud-like substance of her body. She tried to get up, and I couldn't hold her. How to hold a ghost ? I sighed. This was hopeless.
(September 10, 2014 - 5:44 pm)
Umm...Indigo? Didn't you mean Ethyi rather than Etta?
Cappie says tugp. Tug p? Tug a pea?
(September 10, 2014 - 7:15 pm)
Oh, sorry, my bad. Maybe I should stop putting ' Et ' at the begginings of my characters' names.
(September 10, 2014 - 9:44 pm)
Duvessa was shocked when the dagger had stung. She stared at the girl.
" Who are you?" the girl asked. Duvessa swallowed, wondering whether or not the girl would be able to hear her.
" Duvessa."
" Well Duvessa, I'm Ethyi," Ethyi said, putting out her hand. Duvessa looked down at it.
" Oh, right, you're a ghost, I guess that means you can't shake hands..." Ethyi trailed off.
" Why do you want the Darken Stone?" Duvessa asked, glancing at the glowing blue stone, then back at Ethyi. Voices whispered around them, but they still could be heard.
Will she lie? Will she tell what's true?
One thing is for sure, on what she will do....
(September 11, 2014 - 8:39 am)
Ethyi took a deep breath, wondering if she should tell the truth.
Finally, she said, " I want to give it to the Silver Pack. I saw a lady who ordered me to, and I intend to fullfil my promise. "
Promises are broken daily,
Don't have to obey Lady Fayli
the voices whispered.
(September 11, 2014 - 5:52 pm)
Ethyi looked unsure as the voices whispered.
" They tell the truth," Duvessa reassured. Voices started to whisper louder, and louder.
Dark, dark shadow, coming to this place.
When the day shall come, he shall march into the valley, and knock you out like a mace.
He shall take the stone.
Perhaps you will be on your own.
For it will be too late, it won't matter if you team together,
To get it back.
(September 12, 2014 - 8:32 am)
" What does it matter ? " Ethyi sighed. " It's about shadows. Shadows have always been fighting. At least the villagers don't have to fight. "
" They will soon. " Duvessa's voice was strong and sure. " Something's coming. Something from before the shadows, something much worse. "
Ethyi murmured, " Two rulers, two lands, scepter clasped by two hands. "
She glanced up, amazed. " I know what to do. The silver and black packs need to join. "
The girl understands.
Sword in two hands,
" We'll fight it out together- and win, " Ethyi murmured to herself. " It can be done. I need to tell the silver pack's leader. " She turned and sprinted into the woods.
(September 13, 2014 - 8:23 am)
Duvessa felt herself grow more worried as Ethyi disappeared from the Valley. If only she had stayed a little longer to listen... The voices whispered louder and louder, but Ethyi wouldn't hear anyways.
They will bicker, they will fight!
It will be long, before they see the light of right.
They will only see, when one dies because of the other.
Maybe it is the black shadow leader's brother...

~Aeriel~
I wake up in the middle of the night to find a shadow standing over my bed, staring at me.
Needless to say, I am startled almost out of my wits. This is my bedroom, at the top of the west tower in Ivory Manor! How in light's name did she get here?! Then I remember the rope. I went "exploring" earlier tonight, and by that I mean climbed out my window on a rope made of ivy that I twined myself. Death and destruction; I must have forgotten to pull it up after I climbed back! I must look like an imbecile right now, gazing slack-jawed and petrified at the strange, wild woman by my bedside. However, she doesn't seem anything like the other shadow, the leader of the camp. It's hard to explain; though she looks similar in her black linen trousers, tunic with no sleeves, and dagger on a leather belt, but it's something in the way she carries herself, the way her face looks somehow kinder and she's making no attempt to kill me. For now, anyway.
It's a small comfort, this irrational idea that this shadow-woman and the shadow-prince are different in some way, but at least it's something. Regaining some semblance of composure, I draw myself up and ask, "Who are you, shadow, and what do you want?" I put no energy of compulsion into the words; I don't know if my ability even functions with a question anyway. As it so happens, her response is prompt: "What would you do if I gave you a chance to go back?" I am somewhat nonplussed. "How do you mean, a chance to go back? Back where?" But in the instant I say it, I know the answer: to Thornwood. To the shadows. To places where I'm less comfortable and far from safe, but with a power and maybe a friend...? Observing my face, the shadow replies softly, "I think you know where."
I realize my answer.
I take a deep breath. Should I really do this? Leave behind one of my worlds for the other? Be unable to return again? The guilt part of me, whatever has been feeling like my life here at the Manor is a lie, is going haywire. YES yes yes Aeriel this is what you have to do! So go do it!! Still I hesitate, the thought of irreversible change keeping the words captive on the tip of my tongue until, an imagined peal of some giant bell ringing in my ears, they flow over the edge. Past my lips, into the still night air where the shadow can hear them: "Yes. I want to go. I have to. My life here, the duchy and this..." I gesture to the tower room at large. "It's all false. Fake. If my parents knew what I am, what I was, if only for a night...Do you see why I have to go?" She nods, something- relief? satisfaction? triumph?- turning up the corners of her mouth. I push back the goose-down blankets and hop down from my bed, the frigid stone floor sending shivers of cold up my feet. I imagine my feet will be more than just cold by the time this night is over. On an impulse, I remove my tiny stab from its place in my nightstand drawer and slash the skirt of my nightdress down the middle, in front and back. I see the shadow-woman realize what I'm doing, and she hands me a pair of leather thongs. Tying them around my ankles so that my nightdress is now a crude sort of jumpsuit with makeshift pantaloons instead of a skirt, I cross to the window. The rope of braided ivy still hangs there, silvery-green in the moonlight, beckoning me down the wall into the dark.

Danielle, please write as Terra!! The idea of her taking me in as a silver is a good one, and now that we're leaving the village, you can decide what might happen on the way back to the forest. (Maybe something exciting???)
Cappie says agab. Am I being too gabby, Cappie?

~ Ethyi ~
I sprinted through the woods, hurrying towards where I thought the Silver Camp was. I was lucky and found my way there. Pack members were hurrying to and fro. One dragged a deer carcass to a small impression in the dirt. Another gathered firewood. Children played, and scurried to help the adults. One of the shadows turned.
" What is it, girl ? Are you lost ? Your parents are proably off hunting. "
I took a deep breath. " I'm not lost, and I have news, bad news. "
He scowled. " What, that the shadows are planning another attack ? They always are."
I shook my head. " No. Something's coming, something much, much, worse . "
He rolled his eyes. " Scared of shadows, girl ? Then get lost, 'cause soon you'll have a bigger scare then a stray shadow. "
I snarled at him, " I'm not scared of shadows. " I whistled and my shadow pets appeared.
He looked a bit suprised. " A controller. A weak, annoying one with a tendency to gossip. " He rolled up his sleeves, flexing his muscles thoughtfuly.
" Umm. . . Kenor ? " A soft voice whispered. It was a girl, about seventeen, shy but with an air of grace. " Last time she came, she brought the Relminaw. " She nodded at my hand, more specificly, the shining Mark.
He turned away, arms crossed, then finally said, " You want to talk to our leader, do you ? We have none. You should see Terra about that. " He nodded to a girl, the one who I had tried to give the Relminaw to.

Duvessa paced back and forth, often biting her nails from time to time. She could feel it, it was all around her, the darkness. Sometimes it felt so thick, that it seemed there was a thick, heavy smoke all around Duvessa. Other times it was so heavy, that Duvessa started to choke. Then one day, she got the chills. Duvessa was pacing back and forth, coughing every few minutes from the darkness, when the voices whispered, till they got louder and louder.
He comes, descending onto this valley.
If only you could leave to tell the girl to hurry. Then the voices laughed all around her. She clenched her teeth, and did the one thing she's tried to do multiple times. She stepped out of the clearing, and past the first tree. It worked! She didn't get thrown back into the clearing! Duvessa looked back at the Darken Stone.
" I will be back," Duvessa promised, but shivered when the voices whispered.
But what if you don't get here in time?
It will be your fault, that you didn't protect the Darken Stone. Then this world will be as small and tiny, and flattened! Like a dime.

This is okay!
Terra~
I look at the girl and sigh. I don't understand why I'm doing this. I hope my pack is doing okay back there. Suddenly I hear a noise. I grab the girl closer. Her eyes widen and then I hear her scream. I turn around to see something pounce on me.
