OK, reviver, it won't die!

~Euphelia (now 13!!)~

I wandered around with my huge shell full of paint made from crushed berries, and the paintbrush stolen from the village. Ever since I stole the Darken Stone in the middle of a fight when I was eleven, theivery had been in my best interest. Sure, I'd been caught on my first few attempts, but not many villagers could catch a tiny 13-year-old who can morph into a small furry rodent at will. So basically, life was good. Was. I was just strolling through the woods, (phase one of my daily feast theivery plan) when I heard frantic angry whispers in the bushes behind me. I heard something like: "Be quiet, Marly! If you want mmlllijc uehf catch a shadow isufgmjdn then you need to be uhsiugfh iqhwuhdhf!!" and "I AM being jsdgfhg ioruhgo oiaurgbvjcn! sshhh... there she is! get do-kjsdghfjb!!" I rolled my eyes and snickered. Silly villagers. What would they want with a shadow girl? I stopped short as a tree answered my question.

...Reading...

WWhhaatttt?? 'Shadow Hunt now legal and highly encoraged'?!! again: WWHHAATTTT?? I stare, dumbfounded, at the sign in front of me. The whispering bushes are forgotten completley. And then again...

A rope pulls tight around my wrist and a triumphant shout echos around the forest. A teenage boy and a tough, feisty-looking girl jump out of the bushes. I remain calm and observe. They have their wrists tied together, and the boy's wrist is tied to mine. He's rather attractive. A crazy idea forms itself. Insane. Perfect. The boy stares at me and grins.

"You're coming with me, shadow," the boy tuggs on my rope, but I am stronger than him. Haha, boy.

"No," I say simply, sticking my nose in the air, "you're coming with me." I take pleasure with the look of utter shock on the boy's face, and the look of pure terror in his sister's as I drag them to my camp.

VILLAGER CHARRIE!!!

name: Zephyr

gender: male (challenge!)

appearance: wild brown hair, brown eyes, olive skn

personality: brave and kind, but goes to the point of stupidity to impress Euphelia, who he likes. (whoa!)

other: has a sister named Marly. Is a shadow keeper, but has no idea his pet even exists, or that he's a keeper.

Zephyr~

"No," the girl says, turning on her heel, "you're coming with me."  I stare at Marly, her eyes full of terror. I have to take steps to avoid being dragged in the mud, but I reach to Marly anyhow. I start working out the knot, a tough one Grandfather taught me for things that are meant to be very secure. I let loose the strings of the first knot in the combination, but many remain. Then I remember my dagger. I pull it out and start sawing at the knot that connects my sister and me. Marly stares at me.

"Zephyr, what are you-" I stop her screeching and put a hand over her mouth, then keep cutting.

"SSSSHHHHHH, Marly. When you're loose, run. Go to the village. Tell the messenger that I've been captured by a shadow. Whatever you do, don't go hunting for any more!" I glance behind me, just as a camp comes into view. I hug Marly and cut the last strings of the rope. My sister's free.

I'm back! I am so sorry! My cricket wasn't working, and I couldn't get on for some time. Anyway, on with the rp!

I laughed as I weaved through the trees, hunters chasing me, wildly shouting at themselves to shoot.

I forgot how much fun this was.

Suddenly, an arrow whizzed by my head. Fear that I've never felt until now spread within me like a wildfire. My mind went blank, my hooves guiding me best they could without most of the brain telling them what to do. All I could think of was how I was shot that day.

The day that everything started to change.

My hoof smashed against a tree root, and everything cleared. My eyes narrowed, and a leaped over an oncoming fallen tree.

No more playing tag.

I leaped around, my hooves scuffing the dirt around me. Arrows flew past me as the men rushed towards me. An arrow was right about to hit me when I warped. I completely disappeared, then reappeared running away from them, ten yards away. They yelled out and started to run in my direction. I did a horse smirk and a small chuckle, but that all went to the back of my mind when I felt a sudden pain in my leg.

Not again!

I warped and reappeared in a sheltered clearing, knowing I was out of the reach of the hunters for a little while. I snapped my teeth at the arrow, but it was always out of reach. A tree branch snapped, and my head snapped up along with it. A boy stood there, looking to be around my age. He had brown hair and golden eyes.

" Easy girl. I'm not going to hurt you." The boy's hand reached out to touch me, but all of his soothing words soon vanished as soon as he touched me. I jerked my head away, the place that he touched me burning and spreading over the rest of my face. I whinnied and shook my head, trying to reopen my eyes, but it felt like something was covering them up, hindering me from opening them. I heard the boy, his voice coming out in sobs. I stopped and listened, my ears flickering towards the direction of his voice. The spreading of pain had stopped, and I opened my eyes. The boy was on the ground, crying, his mouth moving as if saying something. I moved a little closer to him, my ears still straining to hear.

" Everyone... I touch.. They get hurt," he cried, tears streaming down his face. I had no words to say to him... So I just stood there.

Okay, so Aeriel has changed a LOT! This is just an update, to sort of summarize it all.

Name: Aeriel Tessana, but many people call her Princess. (The nickname got started soon after she joined the silver pack, and at first she was annoyed, but now she's learned to tolerate it since it's clear that no one is going to drop it anytime soon.)

Gender: Female

Age: 15 (it's been two years, right?)

Looks: Long, messy platinum blonde hair; piercing black eyes; rather tall and thin, with slightly paler skin than most shadows. Wears a black linen tunic and trousers, sturdy leather boots, and a green silk cape that she sewed from a dress she used to wear.

Story/Personality: Is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Fairen, but since it is now against the law to be a shadow, has no hope of gaining the duchy when they are dead. Aeriel can be calm and polite when she wants to be, but is mostly fiery and adventurous. She is incredibly strong-willed, and has considerable knowledge of life in the village aristocracy (a topic which most shadows are not that well-versed in).

How Good in Fighting (0-10): 6; Aeriel has gotten quite good with a hunting knife since her move to the forest, and isn't half bad with a bow or in a fistfight.

Shadow or Villager: Shadow (ex-Villager)

Pack or Village: Silver

Type: Controller

Stats: New; has not gained place as a full Fighter, even after two years.

Other: Her will is sufficient to command three or four shadows at a time. She
loses efficiency and strength of control beyond that; her absolute
maximum is ten, the compulsion at that point being easy to resist or
shake off.

After just standing there for a little while, I nudged him. The boy lifted his head, his face a little damp from tears. I moved my head towards the back of me, trying to indicate that I was going to leave. I didn't want to leave him there, but I had business to take care of. He sniffed and reached out a hand. I tried really hard not to flinch, but my natural horse instinct took over and I moved away. The boy seemed like he was about to cry again, but I nudged him again in reassurance.

" Bye pretty horse," I heard the boy whisper, as I trotted away through the bushes and trees.

" Let's meet in the clearing where the Darken Stone was, " I called to Terra and Thero.

Terra~

We walk along the trees, looking for the entrance of the Shadow valley. It has been a long time since we been here, but then, there is no use. The shadow valley is almost useless now, as it's not protecting anything.

I never knew the stone could be created. It use to be possible, but the spirits that have protected the stone managed to stop that from happening. But how come the villagers have managed to overcome that? Well, this is the reason we came here, to get answers. We reach the entrance, sliding into the clearing of the darken stone.

The voices whisper in the darkness.

You have come for answers, and answers we have. But answers you will not like, and answers that don't answer.

"Then why do you give them to us?" I ask.

The answers solve the whole problem, the problem you don't see. These answers will only help you, when you see the problem. You must understand, what is wrong and what is right. You must understand what is important, and what pretends.

My head swirls with questions.

We will give you answers, that will not help you. They may confuse you, but nevertheless, you need them. Here they are, in the form of a riddle. The higher person is no longer higher, as his prized item was stolen, deleted. He is dead, but alive. He is important, just not in the way you like. He still holds power, even though he is not high. He held the power that used to help you, but will destroy you now. He is now friends with the people you hate, but must protect. Because if you don't have the people, the world will be lonely. you must kill him, but it will be no use. You must fight the people you need to protect, and you need to make them understand that you are human, and just like them.

I trotted through the Valley of Shadows, when I started to hear whispering. I did a horse smile, knowing that the Voices were still there. After navigating my way through the tightly woven trees, I came to a small clearing, a single pedestal standing in the middle, with nothing on top of it. I slowly walked over to it, memories of spending my days here flashing through my mind. A few times my brain placed images of the Darken Stone on top of the pedestal, but I knew that the Darken Stone wasn't there, that it would never be there ever again. I heard the Voices whispering louder, but it was still faint, as if they were talking to somebody else. I heard other people too. I took one more look at the Darken Stone pedestal, before leaving the clearing, only to return when I felt the need to.

As I galloped through the forest, I headed towards the voices of the other people.

" Terra? Thero? Ethyi?" I asked, bewildered.

" What are you doing here?"

" Looking for answers," they replied. I narrowed my eyes.

" The Voices don't give you answers. They give you the future. What they were telling you weren't answers. It was the future of a path you might take."

I twisted it. Or added to it. Or did something to it. Yay random things. xD

" What do they mean ? If they're the future, do we have to do exactly that ? " I asked.

" No, they're just a possible future, " Duvessa answered.

" The people we hate are the villagers, right ? " I asked.

" Yeah . "

" So why do they say we have to protect them ? They're the ones that despise us ? " I asked.

" I don't know. You're the one with the experience, " Thero said.

" Maybe you should scout it out, " Terra suggested.

I shrugged, but my mind was abuzz. I was rembering the day in Hallowian. The day I realized I could never go back, never fit in. Well, I was going to go back, go back and make the people who shunned shadows see. I'd find their weaknesses, and I'd destroy 'em.

" I'll do it. "
