Character RP.
Chatterbox: Inkwell
Character RP.
Character RP.
We need some new RPs. True, Future RP and Minecraft RP are slowly lifting off the ground. That's great. The thing is, I'm not patient enough. I need to write. Now.
So here's my idea--A character RP. In other words, you take a character you have written/read (Written might be better, just because). You can tweak them so they're easier for you to write as a narrative here. (coughcough Yes, Zero, you fail of a protagonist, I'm talking to YOU coughcouugh)
I was thinking they could all get trapped in the same world, a world that's not there own. We can all shape the world as we're writing, but let's call it Vicinity.
Of course, there must aslo be conflict. That can arise almost instantly--they've been sucked out of their worlds, right?
Here's my character:
Name: Cazi
Read/Written: Written
{If Read, from what? (Same for Written, really)}: Outcast of Space. This will help me with Cazi, hopefully.
Age: 13
Appearance: Average height, Orange hair, cat ears, green eyes, cat tail, jacket with blue and black buttons, jeans. Small brown sack she wears around her neck. I don't know what it's filled with, though.
Personality: Kind, kind of quiet. She has a tendency to speak up when nervous, strangely enough. A good survivor who is often questioning authorities. She has grown used to being an outcast, though. It's who she is, really. A loyal friend. Not any good at any time of combat though.
Cazi~
"We're almost landing," Sapphire informed me, sitting at the controls of the ship.
"Good," I told him. "The sooner we can land and I can get a good, warm shower, the better."
He laughed.
I walked into the below deck. No one was there. I wondered where Olive was. The awful snoring from across the hall was quick to inform me.
I sat down at the small table in the below deck, all hooked up with gadgetry. Logging into a small, sleek white computer, I sighed. "Welcome," it said, with it's whimsicle automated voice.
"Hi," I said, bored. "I need to know about Creen."
Creen was the planet we would be staying at next. Perhaps even more than a day, since Creen was extremely isolated. I was thinking about my warm shower, and really wishing the computer would hurry up and load the results.
"Vicinity," it beeped intead. "Vincinity. Vincinity."
I sat up. "What? There's nothing nearbye here except for asteroids and plain space! There are no vicinites within lightyears of here!"
"Vicinity," I heard it say one last time, before the world fell into a sudden darkness.
_____________________________________________________
I was on the ground, my eyes closed and my body sprawled out.
The ground. Of my spaceship? I opened my eyes, and closed them again quickly.
No.
I wasn't on the space ship... I was on real, firm ground.
"Vicinity" popped into my head, and then "Warm shower."
I shook my head. I was on some unknown planet and all I could think of was a shower?!
I sat up and looked around. This place did NOT look like the kind of place where you would find warm showers....

Alright then:
Name: Life
Read/Written: Written...from my titleless story about a fictional tourist-trap town not mentioned on any maps (Osains), the campaign to save it, its secret history, and the students from the local boarding school for "troubled youth" who discover aforementioned secret history.
Age: 15
Appearance: Life is Asian and rather tall for her age. She has shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes, and pale skin.
She's always wearing her Samuel E Swartz Preperatory Academy for Troubled Youth uniform: White blouse, black and orange checkered skirt, knee-high white socks, black shoes.
Personality: The life of the party with her friends (which she has many of), but quiet elsewhere. Strongly devoted to her hometown. She would question authority, but she's always afraid to. Tends to ramble and go off on tangents. She's "book smart" but doesn't try to learn things outside of school. She cares a lot about her physical appearence and has a very logical mindset.
--------------------------
Life--
It was blistering hot, and I was anxious to return to my dorm room--which any normal person would be after eight hours of school and a silent lunch. I was walking over the grassy hill which the other students had dubbed the "lookout hill" and thought I might take a second to enjoy the view. It was a beautiful October day, with all the trees on the Samuel E Swartz campus bursting into various colors. Suddenly, I noticed a strange golden shape at the edge of the forest.
A strange golden shape that hadn't been there last year.
Normally I didn't break the rules, but I suppose curiosity just got the better of me. To ease my guilt, I mentally chanted that I was just "taking a little detour" before the dorms were checked. At last, I found myself on a slope of withered grass, gazing upon what looked like a square that had been painted golden yellow.
I rapped my fist against the surface a few times. "Okay, maybe it's not paint," I said to nobody.
But as if in response, the square began buzzing. The autumn trees melted into stars. I screamed, not caring how many bathrooms I would have to scrub with a toothbrush if a teacher found me. I closed my eyes to avoid looking at the dizzying patterns.
When I opened them again, the scene had changed. Lush, green trees rose up from the ground. The grass beneath me was soft, not withered like by the square. I had probably gotten my skirt dirty, which made me groan. Improper dress had humiliating punishments.
Had I teleported to some other part of campus?
Obviously not, because two boys stood over me. One had blond hair with streaks of grey and reminded me of a shark, for some reason. The other had dark skin and was dressed in long blue robes.
"Another one?" the robed one exclaimed. Wait, what?
"I guess it's possible for more to come," said the blond one, who offered me a hand. "I'm Ira, that's Siq. Welcome to...somewhere. I don't know where."
Even they don't know where we are?
I screamed. Loudly. Siq winced.
(July 15, 2013 - 6:35 pm)
Someone needs to drag me into the story.
So Siq and
Ira are looking for water and found Life.
Harmony, Cazi and Natalie are looking for
food.
So who are the weapon creators,
shelter builders and lookout? Teresa just said "You, you, and you," and we don't have any more characters. :|
Can we just have them looking for food and water right now and then have Harmony Cazi and Natalie find Navarette? Then they can all go back and set up camp and start building weapons and set up lookouts. Also I think Natalie and Nav will clash hilariously, they both seem to be "take-charge" type characters and they have very similar names. And for reference Nav knows how to tell if foods are edible or not.
(July 15, 2013 - 8:08 pm)
I just said "You, you and you", because we didn't have enough characters at the moment.
Yes, Cazi, Natalie and Harmony can find Navarette, that would be fine.
(July 16, 2013 - 5:31 pm)
Cazi~
After ranting about my friends at home, or whatever you would call the spaceship, Harmony and Nat really had no comment. That was fine with me. Usually I was pretty friendly, but today I was feeling somewhat downcast. I flicked my tail imatiantly. "Do you think we're ever going to find food?"
"Calm down," says Harmony. "I'm sure we will."
Nat makes no comment, lost in her own thoughts.
We eventually come across a clearing with a little stream running through it. "There's got to be vegtation here," Nat declared, and we started searching for something etible.
"You guys!" Nat walked over to Harmony and I, keeping her voice low. "I think I found strawberries, but that's not all! I think there's a girl with a sword behind that bush."
"Hey!" Harmony called to the girl, and I couldn't help but gulp.
There. Now I have to eat breakfest.
(July 16, 2013 - 7:42 am)
I didn't know what to say after Cazi told Natalie and I about her friends and spaceship. Usually I'm not at a loss for words, but somehow Cazi's story touched me. Obviously, Natalie didn't know what to say either, so we walked along in silence until Cazi asked, "Do you think we'll ever find food?" Cazi looked irratated.
"Calm down, I'm sure we will," I said, hoping that I was right. Sure enough, a while later, we found some wild strawberries that looked ripe. "Mmm," I said and licked my lips. Natalie walked over to where Cazi and I were greedily picking the strawberries, "I think there's a girl with a sword over behind the bushes," she whispered.
Knowing that neither Cazi nor Natalie would take action, I louding called out, "Hey!" The bushes rustled and a girl swinging a sword wildly jumped into the clearing. She eyed us carefully and put the sword back into her scabbard, probably thinking we were no danger at all. "Hi," she said as she stuck out her hand, "I'm Navarette, but you can call me Nav". I looked at Cazi, who shrugged, and Natalie who smiled and shook Nav's hand. "I'm Natalie. This is Cazi and Harmony. Would you like to join us?"

Note: If the magic seems stupid in this, remember that this was an English project and I had to make 10 fairy tale elements, so stupid magic spells was one of them.
"You're name is Ira, correct?" I asked. "My name's Siq. I know how to find water. There's a spell I can use."
"Spell?" Ira asked.
"Yes. Magic," Siq explained, feeling a little silly (who hadn't heard of magic before?). He carefully knelt on the ground and held his hands palm down above a small bare patch of dirt.
Noxis Trepset Glim
Requilied Weigenrem Dor
Trant Rexthorp Sanc
Noxis Trepset Glim
Requilied Weigenrem Dor

The dirt immediatly began to pulsate and move before it settled into a shape. Ira peered over siq's shoulder, fascinated. "It's a map that shows the nearest bodies of water. We're right here," Siq pointed to a small dirt star, "and this is the surrounding scenery. These dots indcate water. This is the ocean, but we want a freshwater souce. There's a small river not too far away from here. A mile east, I would expect. The terrain appears to be pretty smooth from here to there so we'll take a straight route." Siq straightened up and brushed the dirt from his robe.
Ira didn't say anything, just nodded. The two set off for the river, still not saying a word, which suited Siq fine. Ivy had been enough of a chatterbox that he was pretty sure he would be fine without unnessecary conversation for a year or more. Suddenly, Ira grabbed Siq's shoulder and pointed. "Look." A girl, roughly Ira's age, was crouching in a patch of grass. She wasn't any of the girls from before. Siq and Ira looked at each other, shrugged, and walked over to the girl.
"Another one?" Siq asked. Ira extended his hand to help her up.
"I guess it's possible for more to come. I'm Ira, that's Siq. Welcome to... somewhere. I don't know where."
The girl screamed. Siq winced. Why did all girls have to have such high pitched voices?
"I-I'm Life," she said, pushing herself up without Ira's help. She brushed her skirt off.
"According to a girl named Cazi, this world is called Vicinity, although I don't know how she knows that. All of us come from different worlds," Siq explained. "This may be an odd question, but are you a god?"
The incredulous looks of the other two teenagers convinced siq that neither of them were. "Never mind that. We've been told to go find water, despite the fact that we don't have anything to carry the water in, and the shelter builders have been told to build shelter in an area not all that close to water. In the meantime, Life, would mind accompanying us to the water source that is about half a mile east of here?"
"How do you know that?" Life gaped.
"Magic," Siq responded and began walking off towards his destination.
"No I mean, really, how do you know where the water is?" Life asked.
Siq sighed. She might turn out to be the new Ivy.
(July 16, 2013 - 12:53 pm)
~Life~
"I-I'm Life," I finally managed to stutter out. I pushed myself up off the ground, ignoring Ira's hand. I was still dazed, confused about who these kids were, and wondering why Sid--Slim--Siq was wearing robes when it felt like a hundred degrees.
"According to a girl named Cazi, this world is called Vicinity, although
I don't know how she knows that. All of us come from different worlds,"
Siq said, probably in an attempt to answer my question. "This may be an odd question, but are you a god?"
I resisted the urge to laugh, keeping a bemused expression on my face. I suppose I was slightly popular at school, but no, I wasn't a god. Looking around, I noticed Ira appeared the same way. Siq changed the subject. "Never mind that. We've been told to go find water, despite the fact
that we don't have anything to carry the water in, and the shelter
builders have been told to build shelter in an area not all that close
to water. In the meantime, Life, would mind accompanying us to the water
source that is about half a mile east of here?"
My mouth dropped open. "How do you know that?"
Siq gave me the vague response of "Magic," and began walking ahead on a path where the grass faded into dirt.
Alright, so this boy had an odd sense of humor. Then again, a lot of the kids at Samuel E Swartz used "magic" as a sarcastic, default response whenever they were unsure how to explain something. I probed further. "No I mean, really, how do you know where the water is?"
Siq sighed and kept walking. I was upset--I just wanted an answer! Now he and Ira were probably going to hate me for the rest of...well, however long we were stranded on Vicinity.
As we hiked along the path, I thought about what Siq had said. All of us come from different worlds...
I looked over at Siq's lengthy blue robes. "Oh! You really do know magic or something!" I shouted excitedly. A chance to redeem myself after looking completely stupid!
His face lightened a little bit. "Actually, I studied Philosophy, too," he said. But then Siq's face darkened. "You say that like it's a surprise."
Oh. Right. "Well, where I come from," I explained, "most people don't practice magic. Some believe in it, but it's mostly a myth. Although there is this really popular book series called Harry--"
I looked at Siq's face. He seemed shocked.
"Look, my town is so small it's not even on the map," I apologized. "This whole multiple-worlds thing is a bit of a new concept for me. Don't worry. I'm picking it up."
Sort of. I was freaking out on the inside.
"Hey, where'd Ira go?" Siq asked, after we walked for a few more minutes in silence.
I looked up at the head of the trail and saw that Ira had ran ahead to the body of water that Siq had appearently generated.
"I think this water might be brackish," I heard Ira shout in a worried tone, pointing tot a little stream that circled the water. The stream water was fairly high, and could spill into the water at a moment's notice.
"It's still drinkable," Siq called back. "Why are you so worried?"
Ida took what appeared to be an accidental step backwards. Then, I watched in horrified fascination as he began to change.

Nat ~
"I'm Natalie, but you can call me Nat. And this is Cazi and Harmony. Would you like to join us?"
"Um, okay," Nav answered, seeing few other options. I glanced up at the sky above us. Already, it was starting to darken slightly, and I certainly didn't want to be caught out in the open when night totally fell.
"Come on," I said starting off. We finished gathering the strawberries and continued on. The jungle continued to grow denser. We managed to find a few other types of plants which Cazi said were edible. Just when I thought the jungle couldn't get any thicker or darker, facing the ocean. The wind blew strongly, whiping my hair around.
"It's like an island," I said, staring out. It made me wonder all the more just where and what Vincinity was.
(July 17, 2013 - 5:21 pm)
Looks like the internet ate my post no!
//Navarette//
I whipped out my sword, and twirled out from behind the tree, to see three people standing there staring at me rather boredly. I put the sword away and straightened up.
Two of them shared a glance and I held out my hand to the other.
"'Ello! Captain Navarette Isacs at your service, but you can call me
Nav."
"I'm Natalie," The girl shook my hand firmly, "This is Cazi and Harmony. Would you like to
join us?"
"I'd love too. We're looking for food I take it since you're gathering strawberries?" I asked, to nods all around.
"Well, we're going to need more than that, who knows how to hunt? I'm a pretty good aim with this," I pulled out my pistol, "I shot a giant air monster with it once, so I reckon I could take out a deer or something, but I want to save bullets."
"Well, we have a monster on our tail right now, we think," said Cazi. "You should be on the lookout team."
I nodded, "Well, but I know how to tell if plants are edible or not! My boyfri- uh." I blushed. "The Doctor and scientist on my Airship taught me."
'No, musn't think about Merithew,' I chided myself.

Merithew is her love intrest and he's a big sweet science nerd but in my story inter-class relations are banned and he is 1st class and she is 3rd; it's a tragic love story. <3

Author's notes: This thread is dying. Please, people, write! I have absolutely no idea what to do if Siq needs to rant on philososphy because all the philososphy I know comes from authors in this world. So let's just pretend Siq found a way to read Ayn Rand, William Clifford, and Henry Thoreau so he can lecture you on it! Yay! Also, I'm taking liberties with Ira's changing into a shark, so please correct me on the mistakes I made, Gollum.
Ira took a step backward into the stream. A look of horror crossed his face as suddenly his legs started to meld together into a grey tail. He was shrinking rapidly as his arms turned to fins and a large dorsal fin began to protrude out of his back. In a matter of seconds, what had once been Ira was now no more than a tiger shark, flopping slightly to get closer to the center of the stream.
Life shrieked. Siq was astonished. That boy had managed to turn himself into a shark- without any magic spell that Siq had heard. Had he said it quietly? No matter. The water was too shallow for the little shark to breathe in and it would die soon if it was not placed in deeper water. Siq stepped forward and lifted the shark, careful to not cut himself on the shark's rough skin. Gently, Siq placed the shark in the deepest part of the stream. The shark was completely submerged in this area, but the current in the stream was strong and the shark started to swim downstream.
Life stepped up behind Siq and grabbed his shoulder. "He's swimming away! We need to follow him!" The two began to run after the shark boy.
