There's a thread about vegetarianism, but no one ever talks about the meat industry. Isn't it the most revolting thing you've ever heard of??? All vegetarians: Do you eat eggs, milk, fish, or seafood? Sea animals, actually.
Anyone...?

Okay, I won't talk anymore about reasons to be vegetarian/vegan. But do any other vegetarians and vegans hate the words? Go up to a random person and ask what a vegetarian is, and likely as not, they'll say "someone who only eats vegetables"! *headdesk* IS BREAD A VEGETABLE? It's just annoying somethimes. Especially if you're the only vegetarian/vegan you know. No offense to those who don't have those steriotypes, I know not everyone does, it's just that so many people I know in real life do, and I wish I could just convince them I'm not hopelessly starved, but they don't listen.

Hmmm... I think I'll try to go vegetarian, at least for a while, but it's going to be really, really hard. I'm not even going to try for vegan. The issue is, right now I'm with my grandparents, at what used to be a beef farm. (Not a factory farm. Now it's just timber and hay.) Meat is a really big part of their diet, and I'm scared I'll seem rude if I don't eat meat. I'm also giving up gelatin, because I hate jello, marshmallows, etc. anyway. I hope I can stand this!

I am a vegetarian. I don't eat seafood: they're animals too!

Actually, some seafood does not have animals at all! Take seaweed. I LOVE seaweed. I'm pescatarian, which is like vegetarian but you eat fish as well.

I identify as a flexitarian, which means I eat meat maybe once a month, but mostly don't. I tried being vegan once, but it mostly came off of my worry of being overweight or my body not being beautiful. I don't think that anymore.
