There's a thread about vegetarianism, but no one ever talks about the meat industry. Isn't it the most revolting thing you've ever heard of??? All vegetarians: Do you eat eggs, milk, fish, or seafood? Sea animals, actually.
Anyone...?

Now I'm going to defend my reasoning. Chickens lay eggs without a rooster, so the eggs aren't fertile and have no baby in them. And in order for a cow to milk it has to have a baby. If a farmer keeps milking the cow (after the baby is grown up) the cow will keep producing milk, so they aren't stealing it from the calf. Once again I push for organic and humane treatment of the animals before they are killed. That is why I like hunting. Animals that are hunted (like deer) live better lives and die quickly. Plus hunting laws make sure that babies and pregnant does aren't killed. Overall it is a good system that keeps the population in control, is good for the environment, and is overall kinder to the animals. Also kudos to all you veggies and vegans, I just hope that all of us meat eaters can learn to be more responsible.

About the milk, if you were in a supermarket or someplace like that, you wouldn't know if the milk had come from a pregnant cow. (Unless I didn't read clearly.)

I just wanted to say that I completely agree with vegatarians, (I'm going veggie myself) but I don't agree completley with vegans. Nothing personal, but it seems like it's been taken a little over the top. Also, I have a question: How do you keep from getting deficancies (wow, I butchered that) in vitamins? Without meat, how do you keep up a healthy vitamin balance? I'm doing research so that when I go veggie I'll be ready. :D

Vitamins? What kind of vitamins? Depends, you see . . . :)

I heard that you can get iron deficiencies without meat...might not be true, though.

Yeah, I've heard that too.

No, I don't think it's true. We eat plenty of *gasp* green vegetables, so we're covered. :)

Sounds good! four more days until I am completely meat free! Wish me luck!

I am vegetarian, but not vegan. I wish I was, because dairy animals are treated worse than meat animals, but it's sooooooooooo hard!!! I'm really impressed with all you vegan people! You sure have some self-preservance!! Anyway, my friends don't get why I'm vegetarian. They say I'm just wasting the food, "it's just gonna die anyway" or "it's the food chain"! Things like that. When I explain to them why I'm vegetarian, and what people do to the animals, they laugh and think it's funny, or don't want to hear! They would rather eat obliviously than know what they are doing! It really annoys me! Anyway, don't get it wrong, they're great friends, but how can they do that!
