Hi! Andd you can already tell this is gonna be one... long... post :P
So it's my CBversary!!!!!! Which means I've been on here for one whole year now!!!! Which is so sorta crazy for me to think about... but anyways. I'm actually not sure if this post goes on DtE or somewhere else, but I'm just gonna do DtE. :D
It goes without saying (so I'm gonna say it >:D) that I love all you lizards, so much. Thank you so much for making me laugh every day with your ingenuity and creativity (okay, and chaotic nature ;) ), for making me look at the world with wonder and awe with your brilliance and awesomeness, for lifting me up whenever I feel down -- all of you are so supportive and kind and loving and caring and please never change <3 and please remember that no matter what, you are valid, and we love you SOOOOO much *your favorite treat and virtual hugs if wanted and sending all the love your way love y'all (/p)*
The CB is such an amazing gem and thank you so much to the admins and webmaster and everyone else involved (and Cricket magazine) for making it happen!!!! Seriously, you all are amazing!
I'm gonna say thank you again (to CBers and admins) for putting up with my lonnnnnggggg, 90% tangential posts, and my twice as long rants about my squish, then my crush, then whenever I felt lonely and frustrated; thank you for being there and listening (and especially helping me through my first year at a new school where I knew nobody in my grade) and reading my -- I was going to say monstrosities but I suddenly feel bad about saying that after watching Nimona. Speaking of, you all should totally watch Nimona!!!! I admit I went into it thinking, pfft, it couldn't possibly be better than the book!, but it was maybe better than the book (though keep in mind I read the book a little less than a year ago), and if not, at least just as good!!!!
Anyways. Where was I? Oh yeah, rants. Wait, tangential rants!!!! I just went into a tangential rant!!!! I just proved my point by coincidence!!!! :DDDDD <--- idk why I'm so excited about this I just am.
anyways. Thank you for putting up with my over-fondness of words. And parentheses. And everything in general. Really, also thank you to all my teachers over the years who put up with that and told me to change and learn to write shorter essays. I'm (sorta) sorry to say that at this point, it's all just getting longer >:D
oh and thank you for humbling me because everyone around me is always like "you're the best at poetry and writing and stuff!!!" and I'm always winning all these awards and I started believing it and then I stumble across y'all masters of the written word and I'm like... woah. (in a good way though!!! It's like... idk how to say this without sounding cheesy, but such an honor to read everyone's work??? It's amazing)
This is already super long, so I'm just going to say thank you for introducing me to:
- the lgbtqiap+ community (idk how I missed all the Pride flags on top of like every single building and in every single store and on all the flagpoles in all the parks and more (like seriously, every single flagpole I looked at, there was a Pride flag!!!! It was awesome!! Except for yesterday I was at a gas station and they just had the American flag on the pole... but besides that!!!) these past years during Pride month (or how I missed that spoilers for PJO & HoO Nico was gay even though I read all the books a million times over... :/). Also Sofia by Clairo was literally playing at the department store I will keep saying that on here because that was awesome!!!)
- some of my favorite music artists: mxmtoon (my favorite artist ever I've never really had that before :0), Lyn Lapid (Peri), AJR, KC Katalbas (pangolin), The Lightning Thief Musical that counts >:D (Rainbow), Martina McBride (Poinsettia), Lisa McHugh (Amethyst), Jenny Nuo, I'll stop now but there are a ton more (and this isn't counting songs like Hidden in the Sand/Spring and a Storm (Lord Entropy) and Re: Your Brains and Ep 4. Important (Phoenix Tears?) and Sofia (Peri) and Rain in Soho/Sudden Oak Death (LE again) and Wonderland and Derniere Danse (indirectly by Poinsettia?) and Sonata no. 16 K545 1st movement in C Major (Sine) and Leonard Cohen (Peri/pangolin?) and pam pam pam/Cinnamon/Matches (all pangolin again <3) and theme of really cool bird and I really have to stop--)
- sea sheep and snakes in hats and Cupcake and Muffin (*squeals*) (all Darkvine), dino comics and blow-dried cows (both Hex), prob more stuff I'm not remembering rn
- some of my favorite books/authors: The Hawk's Way (Peregrine Falcon), HPMoR & UNSONG & The Etymologicon (concept and preview at least since I still haven't found it irl :/) & The Way of Kings (all Hex <3), Molly Knox Ostertag and ND Stevenson (got their autographs!!!), On A Sunbeam (my comfort read <3), prob more I'm forgetting right now
- some of my favorite TV shows: The Owl House (my favorite TV show) and Amphibia (just Anne is annoying hoping for a (larger) character arc; Hex)
- NaNoWriMo (and thank you again for keeping me regularly writing with contests and RPs and my ski lodge)
- being INFP-t, because reading all those paragraphs that describe me in every sentence was idk so validating?? (especially seeing "self-isolating" as a personality trait lol) like I already knew I felt those ways but I didn't know that was actually... a thing?? Idk.
- Jellycats!!! (Blackfooted Bobcat) Mer and Gian Furlough Acorn Harlowe and hua... :DDDD
- that awesome scrumble recipe Seadragon gave me a while ago

I might do something else to celebrate but for now I'm open for Q&A :) and also I'll compliment anyone who posts on this thread because I super want to compliment and thank everyone now but... yeah :P long posts.

and Hex!!!!!!!!! You're one of the most amazing people I know; you're ingenious (but srsly duh) and considerate and your work is absolutely... mind blowing. And also you put up with my posts regularly haha... so thank you for that. I'm so lucky knowing you (I feel like the grammar is off with that sentence but it's 12:32pm okay? :) ), and -- for the umpteenth time -- love you so much (/p) you're amazing. I'm just gonna sidenote and say sorry if it's annoying if I do compliments bc if someone did this to me I'd be like nOoOoO now I have to respondddd so if you don't want to respond please don't feel like you have to I get it :) or maybe that's just me. Eh. (Also this doesn't mean like I don't want to talk to you all. Just this is how I am (introverts :) ). Also it's easier to respond online, because then I can procrastinate. So... just putting that out there that I'm approachable and I'll be fine if you talk to me. :D even though I'm like 45% ughh interactionn, I'm also like 55% yayy lizardss!!! Did I just make things probably more complicated than they needed to be? Yeah. Yeah I totally did. It's like a superpower. I excel at doing that. Okay please just ignore everything I said unless it applies to you. And what I'm trying to say is please don't hesitate to interact with me. :/).

After I posted I realized I didn't even mention SoC or Discworld or Priory. How!!!!! :000 ok but yeah. Also those. Tysm for those. I honestly don't know how I could've gotten through this school year w/o y'all lizards (I adore calling you lizards >:D) to talk to after school and, while being in school, having your recommendations of Tiffany Aching and Granny -- I meant, Mistress ;) -- Weatherwax and Rob Anybody and Daft Wullie and the wee free men and Esk and Ead and Tané and Loth and Nayimathun (of the Deep Snows) and Kaladin and Shallan and Szeth, truthless of Shinovar and Dalinar and Adolin and Teft and Rock and Lopen and Hoid and- ok I'm gonna stop now (but srsly). Also I realize I would've gotten through the year fine (maybe) without all that, but it would've been much harder.
oh, and Skulduggery too! I forgot who recommended him... I do know the Disc was Hex and Lord of the Shadows though (two separate occasions), so thanks! And someone else also mentioned it before...
But yeah. And then Six of Crows and The Crooked Kingdom are just like... masterpieces. Idk. :0
oh oh and The Troubled Girls of Dragomir Academy!!! Someone else and then Lupine! Okay but I really have to stop now...
if I gave wrong credit please correct me. For some reason, I care a lot about giving credit. Idk why. According to Myer-Briggs it's also part of my personality?? O_o

I listened to the Chappell Roan songs you mentioned and the first seemed really fun (I found it hilarious that she tried to teach her grandparents the moves XD) and the second was like... wow. That's, like. Powerful. I really loved that one, thank you.

I wrote that all yesterday, but never finished bc then I had to go bc my dad's friends and their kids arrived; I'll listen to the other songs you mentioned too later though. But thank you!! I love music recs, so :D And thank you for what you said, too! That meant a LOT coming from you. You’re one of the most caring people I know, and I really appreciate how you really try to go above and beyond to make sure everyone here feels cared for and welcome. Your advice/recs are AMAZING; it’s clear you spend a lot of time and effort on your advice and your recommendations. And thank you so much for helping to revive Kyngdom again with the BCAftV (and maybe other things I wasn’t around for/forgot)!!! Which reminds me I still need to get a part out… but anyways. I think Hawkstar once said you’re like the big sister of the CB, and I fully agree with that. Ty for always being here for us, and hope high school treats you well!!
And I HAD NO IDEA yesterday was the 1-year anniversary for Nimona (and now it’s a year and a day :D) that’s amazing!!!! And I did know about Molly Knox Ostertag’s new book — in fact, I was able to get her signature because she was going around promoting it :)
I’ll check out Carmen Sandiego and Gravity Falls when I have time — but also gtg now so bye!

Okay I listened to the other songs a few days ago and thank you again (and I really love Out of My League... I was just singing that over and over while I was baking a pie XD)!!!! Also, I started watching Gravity Falls, and I LOVE it, so thank you for that too!! I found Carmen Sandiego, and will start watching that probably as soon as I'm done with Falls and Amphibia (gotta stay rationing my television :D)! Thank you again for taking the time to give all these reccomendations!!

I kinda feel weird when you say "heart of the CB" though because I'm still relatively new, but thank you anyways haha :) you're super nice and really willing to help; I think it's amazing that you contribute so much to the MCU every month!!!! You're a super positive spirit, and love you (/p) too and yes it's amazing we got to virtually meet, although meeting irl would be pretty cool... I still really want Cricket to have like a writing/art Summer Camp... only problem is everyone's so spread out... :/ but CB is ofc amazing too!! Btw I think you live in Canada, right? I just wanted to say that's awesome!!! Canada is so beautiful...

Yes I want to meet irl as well it’s so sad that we can’t :/ Maybe someday, hopefully! Or maybe when I start publishing books I’ll put CBers in the acknowledgments and a CBer will read it!! That would be so awesome. And yes, I live in Canada. It is beautiful, (I mean I live in a city so it’s not very beautiful like exactly where I am but still) especially in the mountains :DD

I think you're in Paris rn (speaking of which, I keep forgetting to comment on your hiatus thread... :/), so hope you're having lots of fun there and being careful of pickpockets (I've heard that's a problem...) and eating croissants (my parents were talking about how much they miss croissants from Paris a while ago so idk it just popped into my mind eat croissants!!) and just in general having a great time!! That's amazing! :DD And thank you! I'm glad that my tangents are an integral part of the CB to you bc I don't think they're going away anytime soon :) you're a really nice person; I remember when AmberFox's "Let's Make a Story!" thread (...which I have never commented on) wasn't getting any comments, you made a comment on Random Thoughts/Things letting everyone know it was there (Ik Lyric does that too, so that's so amazing to both of you!). And btw I'm not sure but I don't think I've told you how much I absolutely love your name?? It's so pretty :D
