I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. How've you been? How's life?

Um... well, idk if this is a thing you do, but if you hurry, you can make it to the August MCU questions in time? Besides that... idk. But hii!!! :D

Hey Sterling! It's really good to see you again. I was actually just thinking about you the other day - we still miss you around here. The CB's been going along as normal - not much that's new, except the proposed updates and the idea of moving it to another site. How have you been? Anything noteworthy going on?

probably not, if you ask me... it's happened to me since I was 11, if not younger - there's just something about hearing a song from a previous part of my life that sends waves of nostalgia over me. It happens especially with Peter Paul & Mary, but it happens with almost any song :') I actually have a CD of songs that I heard last year for when I especially want to get 2023 vibes again.

Summer's almost over, and there are still a million things I want to do that might have to wait until next summer, when I'll be halfway done with highschool and occupied with studying for the SAT and researching scholarships and colleges (again. *sighs*)
I feel like I was 12 just a year ago O _ O
I feel like I'm going to be twice as serious next summer. I'm nervous, because it took me about a year to lose a terrifyingly large amount of interest in fantasy, so if I'm going to finish a fantasy written piece by myself (and I'm not talking about RPs or castles, to clarify) it has to be this summer (and I start school early in August...so...)
And my ski lodge is fantasy O _ O And i spent months planning it out O _ O And now I'm struggling to find enough interest and time and motivation to write it O _ O
Right now I'm just copy-pasting little bits of information and writing from the previous school year like a human pack-rat, in order to look back at them later and feel nostalgic and wistful and ashamed all at once.

You know how when people speak English as their second language, they more often than not have a cute/cool accent? I'm assuming when others speak in another lanuage, they also have an accent. I wonder if our anccents sound cute/cool or we just sound ignorant XD

I'd say ignorant, especially if it's like Mandarin or a language where you have to get the tones just right. And even in English, accents (in my experience) aren't really cute/cool? Idk. Just... putting that out there? :)

Well, some people like the way accents sound, although that obviously won't speak to all people. I think a lot of people appreciate a person whose first language is a different one at least trying to speak another one. Like, if you're visiting France, a lot of people appreciate you trying to speak French, even if it's not perfect. It feels a little rude to go to a country and expect everyone to understand your native language and not bother to put the effort in to try learning the language spoken there. Not sure if that's what you're asking, though.
