I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Yeah, it's not a very good thing, though admittedly adorable... it's actually one mouse who's in both places, depending on whether it's daytime and it's retired behind the dishwasher or nighttime and it's come out to nibble on our cookies. However, it seems to be gone now, so *crosses fingers*

has anyone seen the new Studio Ghibli film The Boy and the Heron yet? i just saw it, and it's sooo good. not my absolute favorite Ghibli movie, but i always love Miyazaki's films.

it's crazy to think about this, but i was recently told that the hobbit and the lord of the rings are loosely based on the bible.
i read that J.R.R. Tolkien put the divine trinity into play when creating his characters for the LoTR and the hobbit--gandalf, the father (God); samwise, the spirit (the Holy Spirit); and aragorn, the Son (Jesus). and what's crazier is that gandalf and aragorn actually look how i'd imagine God and Jesus.
whether you're Christian or not, i still think that this is so cool!

It's also interesting to see what aspects of Christianity Tolkien wanted to portray in his books- for example, the Silmarillion reads a lot like the Bible does prose-wise and it certainly influenced his writing. On the other hand, he famously got into a huge fight with C.S. Lewis bc Lewis has Santa appear in his book and Tolkien thought it was gross to have an actual figure from Christianity cross into a fantasy book setting.

i like enby and non-binary best. I like hyphens, and saying i'm an enby makes me feel cute.

Yeah, same. I like enby because it's cute, nb because its simple and non-binary because hyphens lol.
Nonbinary is totally fine, it just sticks together and becomes a jumble of letters when I look at it, personally, so I prefer the others.
