Random Thoughts/Things?
I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

I'd love to hear about your AE (assuming this one's different than Quill?) but only if you're up to sharing about them, ofc! :D
and Raspberry Daycare sounds cool :)

Ahhh yay, ty! I'm not gonna share much bc I'm planning on introducing them sometime this month, but their name is Moss!! They use they/them pronouns and have hEDS, so they use mobility aids a lot! They also really like bugs, snakes, the colors brown and green, as well as the song THE CONTORTIONIST by Melenie Martinez :]]

Aah, they sound so cool! I can't wait to meet them~

When you have dozens of stories in development and you suddenly realise you only have one brain and one pair of hands and you can only work on them one at a time =)

there should be a word for the feeling when you accidentally bite into a popsicle and your teeth are shivering, but not really.

So ik I'm a little late to the party but does anyone wanna talk about Nimona? The book and/or the movie. Between last night and this morning, I've read the graphic novel and watched the movie. I loved both! Usually I don't like when a movie is too different from the book it's based off of, but I didn't mind the differences this time. I loved the soundtrack, animation, and voice acting for the movie, but I also liked the original comic because of the art style and humor and just general awesomeness. They both were so good!!

So I haven't actually watched Nimona but the whole conversation about it has gotten me curious XD What's it about? What's the best thing about it? It does sound interesting, from what you just said :)

Oh! Yeah! I think you'd probably like the movie better than the book, but that's just my guess. So the following summary is more focused on the movie:
Basically, it's about a girl named Nimona who decides she wants to be the sidekick of most-wanted villain Ballister Boldheart - but discovers he's not actually what he seems. It's very fantasy sci-fi, combining the idea of a monarchy and knights and magic with futuristic things like flying cars and big cities. In many ways it's about being and/or feeling different, as well as what's really right and wrong - like, is it really right to reject something just because it isn't the same as what usually is? It gets heavy, though the movie is, in my opinion, more upbeat than the book. The best thing about it… hmm… it's hard to say! I just love it in general. I think you'd probably appreciate the art, though the music isn't really what I think of as your style. I'm not really sure if you'd like it, but even if you don't, it's worth a shot! Most people who've seen it have enjoyed it, though, I think.

heyy.. I've only read the book so allow me to present the incoherent book synopsis to Peri's coherent movie one! like Peri said it's a setting that is at the same time futuristic and historical. It reminds me of She-Ra, if you've ever seen it (since ND Stevenson wrote Nimona and created She-Ra! one of the characters in nimona is LITERALLY entrapta).
Nimona is a spunky, morally ambiguous shapeshifting teen who becomes the apprentice of Ballister Blackheart, the "world's most evil villian" and the enemy of the shady, top-secret government society thingymabob called the Institution. Blackheart was raised to become a knight in the Institution alongside his former friend (former boyfriend is strongly implied) Ambrosius Goldenloin. Goldenloin blows up Blackheart's arm though. And so the Institution kicks him out because he wasn't useful enough. So now he's a villain instead of a hero. Oopsie.
Anyway the Institution is super sketchy and Nimona and Ballister investigate/sabotage the Institution and discover how sketchy it truly is. And i can't really tell you any more without spoilers but: Secret backstories! Character development! Who is the 'bad guy' really? Ambrosius and Ballister drama! Also: Dr. Meredith Blitzmeyer, the character who would eventually become Entrapta!
anyway it's really good

i went on a boat ride today and we saw a pod of orcas, a minke whale, and a bunch of sea lions. the orcas were awesome but i probability lived the sea lions the most- they made a really funny noise and looked hilarious. we didn't get super close to them but saw them from a distance and they look kind of like noodles :D minke whales are also really cool, but by the time we saw it i was freezing and feeling kind of seasick so i didn't really appreciate it as much.
