I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

Yes, I read it a month or two ago! I love how everything about the narrator's life is described, because it makes the book quite vivid. And it's funny in some parts, which I liked :) I did think that Cassandra's rather self-absorbed; of course the book is supposed to be her diary, so it's primarily about her, but she still does get awfully wrapped up in her own particular point of view without trying to consider things from other people's perspectives... It's also interesting that all the women in the book consider that marriage, or being dependent on a man in some way, are the only ways that they can advance in life. By the time the book was written there would have been ways for women to study and support themselves, so I found that slightly derogatory to women :/ But it's a very good read anyway.

I didn't really notice Cassandra's self-absorption; to me, that seems mostly to be a result of the first-person format.
Their dependence on men seems to have a lot to do with their poverty and the men's richness and the book being a romance. That is, Rose does think she has to marry for the sake of money---for survival---but both she and Cassandra seem to change their minds about the virtues of marrying for money later on, and only consider it because they fall in love with people. Cassandra seems to want to be a writer, which would probably involve supporting herself. But I don't know. It's cool you've read it too~

Okay, I have an idea for a writing project, but I'm not sure if it makes much sense. Basically, it would be like a Ski Lodge in the way that people sign up as their CB selves or sign their AEs up, but instead of being put into a Ski Lodge-typical environment, they are put into an escape room/place/building they have to get out of. The room/place/building would be magical and manipulate itself in increasingly crazy ways to keep them from escaping. Basically a magical escape room.
And real-life CBers could comment along and make decisions/choose paths for their escape-room-selves that would alter what happens. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense here, but let me know if this seems like something you would be interested in seeing (and also if anyone has a better idea than Magical Escape Room lol). a few hours ago was the 2nd musical i have been in this summer, 3rd musical overall. it was dear edwina jr (i was a member of ziggy's band and ensemble) and it was super fun. i was in willy wonka a few weeks ago and it was kind of fun but this week was awesome! we had fun songs and dances and you won't believe this but i actually met people and made friends :OOO

Did you know that buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo (that's 8 buffalos) is actually a grammatically correct sentence?!? It means: Buffalo bison that other Buffalo bison bully also bully Buffalo bison. "Buffalo bison" meaning bison (buffaloes) from the city of Buffalo, NY!

that's cool! i've never tried out for a production in school or anything, but recently i've became SO obsessed with musical theatre. I started taking voice lessons last week and i'll be taking musical theatre classes in the fall. what's your favorite musical(s)? my top three are probably hamilton, heathers, and beetlejuice.

and omg I hope your allergies get better soon, allergies are the worst. I don't suffer from them much (knock on wood) but I've been in a very smoky zone so I haven't been able to do much outside.

Has anyone else seen the movie Nimona? I watched it last night and OH MY STARS-
NIMONA REMINDED ME SO MUCH OF TEMPEST IT WAS UNCANNY
Not only personality wise, but her story? Being a little kid and having fun with her friend before her friend's family saw her as a monster and then turned said friend against her? Her form turning her into a litteral monster when she looses control of her emotions? IT'S TEMPESTS STORY TO A T- Except for, yk, being a villian's sidekick.
ALSO HER SKILLSET-
Being able to turn into animals, people, being able to combine forms, being able to change her voice... All things Tempest can do!! Ahhhh- ALSO HOW SHE DESCRIBES SHIFTING- :DDDD

I haven't seen the movie but I read the graphic novel recently (written by ND STEVENSON!!) and i really enjoyed that. i can't wait to see the movie omg
