Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

Thinking, once again, about Her (the ski lodge that I started that had so much potential but I stopped writing and then rebooted but then stopped that one too and now both are sitting in the back pages of pudding's place collecting dust :( I think the only one to remember it would be Jaybells...)

Does anyone else ever do something on one side of their body and feel the need to replicate it on the other side/"equalize the pressure"?

For example, when I type, I press the space key with my right thumb, but then I feel like I need to do it with my left thumb, but it doesn't feel the same because I'm right handed and I end up low-key frustrated when I can't replicate the sensation. 0-0

YES EXACTLY!! When I walk with more pressure on one foot I need to do the opposite to balance it out, and other things like that. Also with light; if one of my eyes is seeing more/sharper light than the other then I need to close it to balance it with the other one. It happened a lot more when I was younger, but it still crops up from here to there.

So I was going to paint a castle door with a lot of washed out, hazy parts where it gets clearer outside the focal point of the knocker, which is shaped like an owl. It's partially for practice painting misty things for a story that I'm writing that requires that for illustrations, but I'm also excited about the idea. I'm using watercolor. So I get the scene all sketched out and it looks pretty good. I know what I'm going to do - where I'm putting each wash, where the stones will have a bluish or purplish tinge or brownish tinge to the grey (although since part of it is it getting more washed out away from the focal point, there's also a contrast between the warm brown of the door and the cool, muted colors that grow more muted gradually).

And then I remember. My watercolor set doesn't have the color grey. And there's no white, so I can't mix it (they're (cheap) tube paints).

I freaking hate my watercolors *sobs* (Also I just typed that all out and haven't been putting it into words for at least a few hours and don't really have much to edit, so that's... interesting XD) But the really good student ones that I want are 60 dollars. I should probably go for a less premium set...

Wouldn't black paint with a lot of water look gray? Or try adding a bit of yellow to black?
