Random Thoughts/Things?
I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

Sometimes I'm okay. Other times I remember that Sebastian and Antonio didn't end up together because their wild, reckless, beautiful love couldn't have fit the happy little heteronormative ending that Twelfth Night was forced to have, Hamlet and Horatio wouldn't have been able to truly be with each other because of the time their story was set and the gap in rank, and Mercutio died in Benvolio's arms, offstage, quietly, and Benvolio just vanished after that and we don't know what happened to him. Yup, I'm back to losing sleep over tragic gay Shakespeare couples :(

Well, I realize this may sound sort of radical, but I do not like Harry Potter. Or Percy Jackson. I'm quite serious! Is there anyone else out there who feels the same way?

There's nothing suprising about not liking Harry Potter, I know a lot of people who don't. And I don't really like Percy Jackson either.
I like Harry Potter, but mostly because of the giant fandom. It's a good book, although not one of my top favorites. What I like the most is you can nerd about it to anyone because almost everyone has read it. I think it's cool that it's so wide-spread, and you can do trivia, and legos, dress up as Harry Potter characters for halloween, etc, and everyone will know what you're doing.

I completely agree with Hex. It's so fun that you have this entirely fictisioucs (*blinks at horribly botched spelling* *doesn't know how to fix it* *leaves*)
universe that everybody knows about, and you can complain about Malfoy and cry about Dumbledore and rant about your deep desire to tear Umbridge apart limb from limb. And if you make a really awkward reference (*pointedly avoids giving details*) everyone just stares at you like "wHaT dId YoU jUsT sAy" and then goes on their merry business cause they know what you said, they just can't believe you said it.
And...I've never read Percy Jackson. It's never interested me in the slightest. I don't even know what goes on in those books, except from the quotes people gush about, here's one that comes to mind:
Percy: I'm a Leo
Leo: No, stupid, I'm a Leo. You're a Percy.
*giggles* I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO LEO IS!!!! *laughs insanely*

The two most published authors are William Shakespeare and Agatha Christe. They're estimated to have published about the same amount of books—2 to 4 million.
(September 17, 2022 - 4:18 pm)
And also (just because I love both of these authors and don't want anyone thinking that their works are too old or you couldn't relate to them): Allow me to remind you that in Agatha Christie's famous Murder on the Orient Express A) there is an entire scene where it's literally just two characters being socially awkward and trying to hold up a normal conversation while waiting for a train and it's the funniest thing ever, and B) A LITTLE BIT OF A SPOILER ALERT the murder is done for a just cause and Hercule Poirot actually lets the murderer get away with it because he can recognize that and it's such a beautiful example of grey morality that you wouldn't expect from a genre that's so typically black-and-white, and please also allow me to remind you that William Shakespeare queer-coded like eighty percent of his characters, he wrote a song (in Much Ado About Nothing) that basically tells women that men are trash and they shouldn't even bother with them, and also wrote a comedy where no one got married by the end of it (Love's Labor's Lost, if you're curious), which was absolutely groundbreakingly feminist and pretty much unheard of for that time. *finally takes a breath* I'm just saying. These authors are really flipping cool.

Let's say your're doing something that you don't want other people knowing about (Ex. Stealing a cookie). If you look around, you can get information, like if people are watching you, and if people even care at all. But this adds to your suspiciousness, so there is a drawback. Other things you can do can also be beneficial to you and disadvantageos at the same time. How do you know how much to do that thing? Do you do it at all? Is it even possible to weigh the outcomes (Do I really want that cookie?) and probabilities (How often will I get caught?) and calculate it?
(September 17, 2022 - 5:25 pm)
I want the cookie.
You could probably calculate it, but I don't want to. All I want is the cookie.
Unless it's chocolate.
