Religions.
I know lots of people on here are Christian, but are any of you guys Jewish or anything else? I'm really interested in different religions. I know there's a lot of similarities between Islam and Christianity. For example, all of the Bible stories are in the Quran: Noah and the ark, David and Goliath, etc.
So I thought we could talk about religions here.

My family is not religious whatsoever... Gee, I feel so embarrassed. I don't know anyone who isn't religious. I don't even go to church!

It's all right, Squeak. It doesn't exactly matter how you were created or how the world was created, just that you enjoy being here. I think most people in my grade are Christian or don't go to church.

@CayketheCook: I think it's okay to talk abotu Islam here. I mean, it's not like anyone on here is going to get mad at us because of it. Everyone's free to talk abotu their own beliefs. I don't agree with some Christian viewpoints, but it doesn't mean I'll get mad if someone talks about them.

My family and I are Christian. We aren't too religious, but we do go to church on Christmas Eve and Easter, and we read the Bible on Christmas morning before we open our gifts, and on Easter morning before we find our hidden baskets. My younger sister has a children's Bible that she reads by herself or with our mom sometimes. We also pray whenever we feel the need to (during a loss, or any troubling times) and I write in a prayer book daily.
I find Buddhism extremely interesting, and my friends know me for texting them "OMB" ("oh my Buddha") instead of OMG. I have a tiny Buddha statue in my room as well. You don't have to be a certain religion to be interested in it. I wouldn't even consider converting to Buddhism myself in the future; I just like learning about it.

I know this thread has kinda died down, but it is really interesting, I love hearing about all the other religions. Just wondering, are there any other Jews in Chatterbox?

I know there used to be at least one, but I'm not sure now. I'm not a Jew, but my family does celebrate Hannukah. Happy Hannukah!

Thanks! You too!

I am a Christian, and I don't think we are that like Islams, but I don't really know what Islams are like. Anyways, I didn't know that a lot of people on here are Christians, so that's a happy surprise to me!

Ahem. Excuse me Joss, but we are not Islams, we are Muslims. Islam is our religion. And we are really nice.

My family is pretty religious, and it's nice for me that all of my 5 close friends are too. I really hate it when people say things like 'oh my God' and stuff, because it's offensive to churches. I also hate people doing that thing where they clasp their hands in front of them while singing, because some people do it seriously. Anybody else feel this way??

I don't like it when people say "O my God" either. But I don't see why you are offended when people clap their hands and sing.

I am Catholic. I had a whole long thing going, but I opened a new tab looking up spelling on the burka, and I lost my whole long thing. I was proud of that.
I will say this, though. I wonder why people throw wingdings about religoious things. (Well, I sort of know.. It is steriotypes) A person's religon should not matter in friendships or anything like that. People are not their religion, in the sense that I am not known to be a Catholic. I am not KNOWN for being a Catholic. I am [my name] and I kick butt at avain bowl. (No, I will not explain what that is. This a religion post.)
Is anyone here a Jehovah's Witness? Just wondering.

I am Christian. But my cousin is half-Christian half-Jewish. So she gets to celebrate Christmas AND Hannukah.

I know that there are lots of people on CB from different religions, but, I think that it's nice to see that no matter what our religion we can still get along and even be really good friends. It sort of shows how even though our religions differ slightly, we have more in common than we could ever imagine.
As for me, I attend a Church of Christ in Texas. I've practically grown up there, and I have known my church friends for so long that it almost seems like we are siblings. But even though my direct family is Christian, my Uncle is Buddhist and my cousins are all Muslim. I even think that I have a great Aunt who believes in Hinduism. But Bookbug is right, my cousins learned many of the same stories from the Quran that I learned in Bible Class. I always thought that it was really cool that we could have stories in common, especially since people believe that Christianity and Islam are so different.

My family is not super religious. We don't go to church, and I can't remember ever reading a Bible. But we kinda honor Jesus, especailly on Christmas.
