Chatterbox: Down to Earth

This thread is

This thread is to commemerate all the people on the Chatterbox who have DISAPPEARED into thin air. Well, maybe not disappear, but just haven't posted in ages. And for those who have actually left, does anyone else have any means to still connect with them, like with Nano and stuff?

Here is a very rough list of the people who I've been missing lately:

Maggie

Blackberry E.

Nightingale

the doctor/Sir Doctor of Tardis

Joe the Stickfiddler and Daffodil

Red/Ruby

Fire Eyes Phoenix (where did she go; she was here for like a month and then went poof)

Nina

Ellie

TNO (always shimmers in and out of the CB like a wraith)

CaptainRead

And of course Lottie and Mag Fan threw in the towel for good. :(

I know with the start of school there isn't much time for the CB, but why did everyone seem to go at once? Lonely Everinne here; I miss the old gang. Not that the new gang isn't awesome, but I have a grown-up feeling of nostalgia right now.

I'm still around! I just have had barely any time post lately.  I've been busy with being a high schooler, dancing 10-12 hours per week at two different studios, and now Nutcracker rehearsals are starting, which I'm super excited about because I was cast as The Sugar Plum Fairy!

Omg lol The Sugar Plum Fairy in my ballet school's Nutcracker production is at least 45 yrs old. Not too big a school.

@ SC; Both. ;) I remember all of those people, though I think Ivy's been around in the last four months.

@ Daffodil, it's good to hear that! Tell Joe we say hi, and we all miss him around CB.

@Corina; No, you are a full fleged oldie. Some of us are just older. ;)

Don't worry my darlings, I haven't quite given up on you yet! I don't have quite enough time to post on CB during the school year, but I plan on dropping in on you to say hello from time to time! As well, please keep my friend Alice in your prayers (yes I know Alice in Wonderland outside of CB) as she is having a rather rough year. I believe this is all for now, know that I miss the lot of you!

Hooray! I'm so glad you haven't given up the CB totally! I know how school stuff can interfere with more enjoyable things. But it's nice to know you're not dead--yet. :)

Cappie says "crie." He's crying for joy that you're still here!

I am useally always the "newbie" in everything... Except minecraft. (I'm been doing that since it started..) Anyway, I always looked up to Everinne, BHR, CaptainRead, Joe the StickFiddler, and all of those nice wiser peeps.

I think Crowd Sorcery brought all the newbies. For me, I'm not a newbie to the Cricket company, nor Cricket mag, but I joined Chatterbox just because CS sounded cool. Really, I started reading Cricket when I was like, 7 years old (I was always a bookworm...), so I'm not new to Cricket whatsoever. But I'm still a newbie at Chatterbox. And I'm gonna be a newbie for, ya know, about 1 year or so.

I don't think I will ever be "friends" with the wise, old peeps on here. They are just more like mentors. The only people I call truly friends are Noelle, Indigo (you both are awesome), Brooke, and lil sister, as they are the same age as me. (though most likely not as new as me.)

So, Yes, I agree, I am a newbie. 100% new. But really, I'm not new to the internet. I have been doing computer writing since I was eight. That's right. Eight. And I was pretty wise too. I would say stuff like, "OMG U AR S COO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", or "CA W PLZZZ WRIT TOGETR??????". So, not all newbies act like Newbies. They are just new.

Before I say anything, please note that none of this is meant to offend anybody. Nobody at all. If you have an issue with what I said, please tell me why you are offended and I will try and correct a phrase or give an explanation of why I said it. That being said, I'll go on.

Not everyone acts as everyone else who is their age does. I know that the age range that you mentioned for those who you feel you can really call your friends is around 10-13. I just find it so amusing how our posts differ in style of writing and things like that, but we are in that same age range. I am twelve, thirteen in a few months. Butterfly is even younger, just in the age range. But we speak so differently from the newbies . . . it's not only age, I suppose, but something else, too, that makes up the way we are in our writing.

What do you think that newbies act like? Your last two sentences really caught my attention, because I'd been thinking about similar topics for a while, and I'm puzzling them over. What did you mean when you said this?

I get what you are saying. Now that I'm not as busy, I'm on the CB more. But the atmosphere is different. When I came on about a year ago, it was a close-knit comunity of writers, creative people, and just nice people in general. But now... It's different. I'm seeing more arguments, and I don't connect with some of the newer people. And I mean no offense by any of this, but now it seems so much more like a social networking site. Instead of a writing community, certain parts of the CB make me feel, like I am different. And its not about wriing or anything anymore. It's about The Website. Does anyone get what I'm saying? And I don't want to offend anyone. I mean, we were all new once, right?
