Hello there.........

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Hello there.........

Hello there.........

Does anyone from the old days still remember me? I used to be on a lot, but then I got distracted... by a couple games that were hardly worthy of distraction from this. Now that the new school year has started, I'll be around much more.

I see that CB is still mostly girls, haha. I wonder why boys don't come on here a lot? *evil grin* it was probably my fault, XD, they all came on and saw how much of an idiot I was. :D

For the people here who are new, as in, new since last December haha, a bit about myself. I'm thirteen, eighth grade, Christian, advanced courses in pretty much everything there is to be advanced in (not much yet, unfortunately), violist (WOOT!), Coldplay fan, and pyrotechnic engineer extraordinaire (just kidding). I've been reading Cricket for seven-odd years, since I was six or seven. I made what was pretty much the first post in CaC, two and a half years ago or something like that.

My return will be limited, as the advanced eighth grade classes that I take give me lots of work *sigh*. I'll probably confine myself to CaC and DtE -- but please, no more quizzes! I quit because of the quizzes! LOL -- although if something pops up in the other departments that looks interesting, I may reply.

I remember  you,  Tim. Glad to have you back with us again. Welcome.

Ah, I see. Simple, I guess.

Has anyone else had to play with Ooblick in eighth grade? Ugh... that stuff is DISGUSTING.

Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss! A great story. Is that related to Ooblick?

Old Cricket

@Old Cricket: I'm not sure. It's a mixture of corn starch and water, and if the mixture is right, it's a thick liquid that solidifies immediately when pressure is applied to it (i.e., if you had a bathtub full of it, if you stood on it, you would sink, but if you ran across it, you would stay above). The names might be related. And yes, great story!

Wow, that stuff sounds really interesting, very cool, yet slightly gross! :)

Yeah, I've had to do stuff with Ooblick before (thankfully not Oobleck, Admin!), only when I did it, it was called Sludge. But it was the same basic idea. It was cool in a gross and hard-to-clean-up way.

Creepy! Spam says "oblk"!

I've made Ooblick before, though when I made it, I was told it was Slop.  My mom would probably love for me to make it, "A great scientific experiment!" she would say...  And I could give it to my sisters, who love it, and I would also keep some.  I should make some, sometime, once I get corn starch...

This is my first comment in a while.  I left mostly because all the original people left.  So yeah, I definitely remember you.  Hm.  I thought you were a freshman.  And yeah, I think you made the actual first post in CaC.

I like obleck..... my brother put some in my hair once....... that was really random.... especially seeing that you don't know me... at all.

I saw one of your posts when I was first looking at Cricket, I think. I never posted a comment, though.

Ihave 2 go and do an English paper on a book I read, The Weight of All Things, kinda a depressing book. Has anyone else read it?

P.S. Sorry for posting a random post. I am bored and am commenting on random posts. I probably seem really weird 2 u, but I'm not always a weirdoid. :P

I think I might have been here, because I can remember you posting a few things... but hey, welcome back anyway!!

@Kenzie: That's pretty depressing. Im still here and I've been posting with you for a long time.  I've seen all those people leave, but, no offense, that's a stupid reason to leave, when there's a bunch of awesome new people you can get to know!  That's the reason of the chatterbox, get to know new people, not just talk to the same people constantly.

Sorry!  I tried to talk to other people, but they never replied or it just didn't work.  I mean, I still try too.  And now that TNO and Laura are gone, I feel kinda old...(except you're my age)  And I don't even get Cricket anymore; or at least my subscription's ending soon.
