Reunion Thread

Hey, uh, the reunion is in 2 days, and in the past we've always had a main thread for one? I'm a little early but I just think when old CBers begin to arrive, they ought to have somewhere to go… So, um, hi! I hope it's okay I'm making this thread if I'm a current CBer, I don't know if it's usually the old CBers that do it…

Anyways, hello, everyone! For anyone who doesn't know, every February 14th we have a reunion where old CBers pop in to say hi. It's really cool to see everyone!

For anyone who doesn't know me, I'm Periwinkle, but most people just call me Peri. I'm a current CBer, here since January 2021. I use she/her pronouns, and you'll usually catch me working on my ski-lodge, giving advice on the Confessions thread, writing about my AEs, and occasionally sharing my poetry.

And for anyone looking for old reunion threads, here's a few. Thank you to Kitten for providing all these links last year so I only had to dig up the 2022 reunion, saved me a lot of time XD

That's about it! Have fun, can't wait to meet everyone <3

Thank you for starting this thread, Peri! I hope the Valentine's week reunion tradition continues for many, many years!

Alizarine! That's crazy! I don't know if our active times overlapped much, but Jwyn is always talking about you, and it's great to see you around!

Hi, it's Morning! (Used to be PygmyOwl) I was active on the CB from roughly late 2019 (?) until 2021 (?) It's kind of late for a reunion day post, but I almost forgot it was today. It's so amazing to see all these new and old CBers that I knew/read about in old threads/haven't even met before. The CB was such an important part of my life, especially during COVID, and so much of who I am today is possible because of this site.

I'm a co-author (along with NerdFace) of the Camp Juniper ski lodge (which is not dead, by the way, we're both just busy and full of procrastination, so we post about one part a month) and that ski lodge, along with various other writing projects that I worked on here helped me grow so much as a writer. I'm currently working an a VERY rough modern retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice that I hope to finish before I graduate high school.

I'm fifteen (for one more month!!!) and a sophomore, and I'm so busy right now with a thousand different things. My school's drama club is putting on a production of She Kills Monsters, a play about DnD, which is amazing. I'd highly recommend looking up the show, if only to read the script, because I love it. I'm playing Kaliope, a dark elf ranger with a spectacular quarterstaff. I'm also going to state in a completion for my school's business club, despite the fact that I never want to be a business-person at all, and I'm doing a performance for National History Day with NerdFace.

It's so cool to be back here, and I hope this site continues for a long time. Farewell for now, lizards, and I hope you all have an amazing Valentine's Day! <3

It's not too late, Morning, there's still almost an hour left of Valentine's Day in Central time, and three hours in Pacific time. Morning, you're welcome here this Night and any other time of day. Thank you for checking in.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I'm so happy you liked the ski lodge, it's kind of my baby. I think I may have posted two or three poems ever, so if you found those, I'm very impressed. I don't think we ever met, but I've popped in a couple times without our posting, and I think I definitely recognize your name.

Yo, Morning!!! I was in costumes crew for my school's production of She Kills Monsters last year and I adore the play, though theater is a lot, to say the least. You definitely seem like a Kaliope-type person. <33

No way, that's so cool! It's definitely a lot, and that show in particular has so many technical elements (we've spent countless hours making Tiamat out of paper mache) but it's definitely a lot of fun.

Oh yeah, we were lucky enough to have the wife of one of the teachers (I'm not entirely sure if she has a standing job at the school or not) come in and make the Tiamat heads for us- each of the heads represented one of the 5 stages of grief, and we had actors wear them on their heads. It was awesome. Their was a LOT of spray paint.

Yeah, that sounds pretty similar to what we're doing too. I love the idea of having the heads represent the stages of grief, though. We're just basing them on the five elements, although all of us who actually play DND keep complaining that it's not technically accurate to Tiamat. One of the art elementary teachers is helping us with that too, but it's VERY messy and time consuming.

Hi everyone!

I'm Coulson, but I went by St.Owl when I was on here back in 2015-2019-ish. I haven't been on the CB much recently, so it's been lovely to return and see so many familiar sights. I desperately miss the amount of writing and roleplaying I did during my CB days, and I'm excited to see that you all are still going strong.

I graduated from my high school/early college with an Associate's degree back in June and so I am now technically a junior in Actual Four-Year College, but I'll be taking three years here to give myself some space to breathe. I have been really enjoying college. I'm a classics major with hopefully a minor in gender and sexuality studies. I've done a lot of historical research and theory in the past few months and really fallen in love with it! Being a classics major also means I'm doing a lot of language. I'm in my fifth year of Latin now; last semester I tried Roman comedy for the first time by reading Plautus's Mostellaria, and this semester I'm reading some new parts of Ovid's Metamorphoses, which I love endlessly. And while I took a year of Ancient Greek as a senior, I started fresh in college and I'm about halfway through the beginner track now! If all goes well, I'll be able to start reading some actual Ancient Greek texts next semester – exciting!

I still haven't totally figured out what I want to do after college, but my current concept is possibly going into archives. I'm taking a class this semester about archiving a site called Dura-Europos, which is a very exciting archaeological site in Syria with Hellenistic, Persian, and Roman artifacts and influence. I'm hoping this class will serve as a springboard to some museum internships over the summer... but we'll see!

I hope you all are doing well. I'm happy to see so many familiar and unfamiiar faces, and hear what's been going on in everyone's lives!

It's great to hear from you, and it's wonderful that you're enjoying college! - Admin
