Compliment thread

These have been dead for a while because a lot of people were feeling left out, but I miss the kind of positivity it spread and I know I'm not the only one. However, I don't want to ignore why they got abandoned in the first place; so I'll be going back to an old rule I made in a Compliment thread a few years ago. When you post a comment, you must compliment someone who hasn't received a compliment yet. For example, if CBers 1-7 had already received compliments, I could compliment as many of them as I wanted, but I would also have to compliment one of the other CBers.

The purpose of compliment threads was never to make some people feel better while putting others down. We don't want people to feel left out; it doesn't happen on purpose when it comes to these threads. You are not selfish for wanting compliments or overdramatic for feeling forgotten. It's tough to give sincere compliments to people who rarely post, or are very new and we haven't gotten to know yet. Sometimes things like that can't be helped- I'm not saying that you should be more active if you're already very busy and stressed. And if you're new, then you're new! We can't wait to get to know you, it just takes a bit of time. There is always the old trick where if you come and compliment some people, you'll usually get compliments in return. Comments like "I haven't gotten any compliments, I guess everyone hates me" or "PLEASE COMPLIMENT ME!!" are neither efficient nor appreciated, especially if you do so anonymously.

I'd also like to add that good compliments come in all shapes and sizes. Being one sentence long doesn't make a compliment a "bad" one, just a short one. It only matters that you're sincere about it.

You always have such cool ideas for threads, and you're so determined to REVIVEBAB (which I need to get better at doing). And I love how you jumped right into Kyngdom without worrying about doing it wrong, which is something I stressed a lot about myself, and so it's something I really admire and look up to in you :)

Majestic Mary- You're honestly amazing. You've always been so kind to me. When we still had NaNo, you would always check how I was doing if I said I was having a bad day. And I still remember our promise to make each other practice; I really appreciated that. <333
Lumi- you're so kind and so good with words. You've also always felt like someone I could rant to and confide in. Keep being you <3
Toma- I know you're not super active, but I remember talking to you when you were newer and even though you were pretty new, you always seemed like you'd been here forever. You're also just very kind and funny and so much fun to talk to. :)
Starseeker- You're also not very active anymore, but you're one of the CBers I've always looked up to and always will. Your art is amazing and you're so creative and fun and so many other things. <3

Okay, I'm planning to compliment everyone who complimented me, starting with this comment and going backwards in order, and then I'll maybe attempt to compliment everyone else who posted on this thread.

*refuses to feel daunted by the enormity of the task*

Anyhoo:

Starch, first of all, I need to thank you for getting me obsessed with guinea pigs (which I maintain are superior to hamsters. They're less creepy, cuter, not escape artists, and they wouldn't eat other guinea pigs. [Hamsters will eat each other in certain circumstances ahh *shudders*]). Second, your piggies are so cute. 

But also, you're just a really kind, good friend. You've let me rant in your PMs through some of the more stressful conflicts, when we had NaNo, and you ✨ e d u c a t e d ✨ me on Averno. You're one of the people I feel like will always be there for me if I need it. Thank you <3 Keep being awesome :)

I agree, guinea pigs are better than hamsters. Hamsters are very cute as well though :)

eek! i love this! thank you to Quill and Starchaser for the compliments, they mean so much to me. 

so many people have been complimented so i'll write a bunch.

Bakerloo - you are ridiculously creative and elegant with your writing and just how you generally interact with others. i look up to you so much, and you helped me feel welcome when i first joined the CB.

Writing_in_the_dark - you bring so much energy and fun to the CB with your posts! it always makes my day reading through your threads.

Honeybee - you're very kindhearted and artistic! also, i love bees, so your name makes me smile each time i see it.

Azalea - your art is BEAUTIFUL. i printed out the picturing you made for me and it's hanging on the wall beside my desk so i can see it all the time. you put thought and care into every picturing, and it really shows. we can feel the personality of the character through the drawing!

Luna-Starr- ik a lot of people have complimented you, but you're fricking amazing in every way. Your writing and poetry are both delightful, you're thoughtful and kind, fun and hilarious, and seem to be a great friend to everyone. Love your name, too!

woolly- you always are so kind, and your crocheting on the craft thread is truly amazing!
