So this thread is about what you're going to be for Halloween and DIY tips for costumes, face painting, etc.
I'm going to be a pokemon this year and my friend will be a pokemon ball! I think it would be cool to be poochyena! But it would be WAYYYY too hard so I'm thinking an evee evolution or pikachu!
So...what are you waiting for? POST!

Thanks, Icy! That sounds fun, and the OMG is fine, but a wand is traditional and I'm going for more of a healer look. The magic this kind of witch does is without a wand. It's more likely to be brewed like a potion or woven like a basket or grown like a nut, if that makes any sense. I hope it helps Leafpool though. Actually, the main reason I'm trying a modern witch costume is because I don't have a cape or cloak to use, which kind of spoils anything else.

Hey guys! I'm having a bit of trouble with my costume, and was wondering if you guys would have any ideas.
So, I have recently started reading the two towers, and I LOVE IT. So, in the spirit of lotr, I was going to be a ranger. But then my mom pointed out that that looks pretty much identical to what I was last year. (A bandit, mask, cloak, sword sorta thing.) So now I'm going to be an elf. I'll straighten my poofy hair, attempt to hide some of my freckles, and wear a green cloak that my friend is lending me. I'm going to make the elven sword, orcrist, (I highly advise you look at pics; it has a really cool design) out of various foam objects. At least I'm going to try.
And the part I'm stuck on: what do I wear under the cloak? I'd like it to be modest (i.e, not just plain leggings and a tank top) but easy to move around in. Not saying it has to meet those standards, I'd just like some ideas. Thanks!

A dress might work, if that's your thing (or even if it isn't, Halloween is partly about being something that you're not), and sometimes elves wear tunics. You could have a belt to hold your sword and maybe pouches for herbs or whatever you want to carry, and boots are always a good idea. You might want something warm, considering the time of year, so maybe consider long sleeves. Leggings and a tank top is actually a good idea, but you don't have to wear just those. You can add layers and jewlery and armor and anything you want. Hope this helps, and good luck!

For an elf, I wear a flowy shirt, and black leggings. I was going to do Cosplay for my B-day, but it didn't work out. :(
AND I DON'T EVEN NEED FAKE EARS! :D
My ears evoke a sense of an elf, especially with lond hair. :)

@Butterfly Have you found a hat like the Mad Hatter wears? Do you have curly hair? Are you allowed to wear face paint?

And I think I would be allowed to, but we don't have any. . .

I'm being Hermione Granger! Last year I was Luna Lovegood. I almost picked Rey, but I decided that since my little brother is being Harry Potter, I would go along with that. Then again, my older brother's Darth Vader... But anyway Harry Potter Forever!!!!

I'll probably just be a boring ol' black cat. Some black leggings, black shirt, buy a little black tail, water some black gloves, put some face paint on... I already have the slanted cat eyes.
