FRESH ASK ADMIN
FRESH ASK ADMIN
So yeah, this is the new AA thread, and I will ask the Admin: What happened to my post asking if I could make a movie about the CB? Are you guys discussing it?
Right. I opened it after 5 on Friday. So no one is likely to see the query till at least Monday morning.

I have 2 questions.
1. How many Admins are there?? You don't have to give me a specific number, just some thing like 2-4, 4-6, 6-10, or something like that.
2. How do I enter contests? I wanna enter the poetry con about best friends, but I'm not exactly sure how......
1. Right now it mostly just one Admin all the time. The second regular has just taken on other responsibilities. There is a third who can take over for vacation or other time off.
2. The current contest description and rules are on page 47 in the January 2015 Cricket and here: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/contests#show
Poems can be no longer than 24 lines and must be received by January 25 at
Cricket League, PO Box 300, Peru, IL 61354
You need to mail the poem on a piece of paper to us.

Admins,
This is more for all the magazines but do you get ideas from what we say your mags should be about. For example, If someone said for Muse that they wanted it to be about candy, would you take that into consideration? Where do you get the ideas?
Yes, we definitely take readers' suggestions and requests into consideration. Our readers's comments are very important to us. We may get ideas from anywhere. Authors from all over the world send us stories, etc., and we pick the best for our magazines. We also get some things from the library.

Admin, does Cricket offer any volunteer opportunities so we can help out making our fave magazine/website?
We appreciate contributions to our Cricket Readers Recommend, Favorite First Sentences, Letterbox, and Cricket League pages. We welcome suggestions form our readers sent to Cricket's Letterbox, PO Box 300, Peru IL 61354 or cricket@cricketmagkids.com or submitted to the Chatterbox. Our readers comments are improtant to us.

What days are the busyiest? Just because sometimes it take like 5 hours for a post.
There's really no way of predicting that, other than when one of us is on vacation. We work on several magazines and sometimes the work comes all at once. We can post comments from home on weekends, but sometimes we have other things to do, places to go, that take a lot of time: family events, church, rehearsals, performances, dentist appointments . . . life!

Wow! Good to know!

1)Who decides who wins the contests?
2)If you do, how do you decide?
The editors pick the winners. Entries are judged according to the quality of the work, how well it develops the theme of the contest, and creativity. Picking the winners is really hard because we get so many great entries! Cricket readers are extremely talented!

Did any of the admins delete WaffleSyurp's intro post? He's not me I promise you, he is a good friend of mine an not me. He wanted to start going on the Chatterbox along with my other good friend SwimLuv88. I got them into cricket? But still any idea where his post went?
I remember posting it earlier today. Look on a back page. If you can't find it, tell him to resend it.

Admins,
Do any of you read magazines, books, etc.? If so, which ones?
I'm always reading some book (sometimes more than one). Right now I'm reading Strings Attached, about a music teacher and his violinist daughters. I also read Time, Reader's Digest, International Figure Skating, and sometimes National Geographic (handed on from a neighbor).

Admins,
My friend, Queen Elizabeth, told me that she posted and commented on a lot of things a week ago, but they never showed up, and it never said she had commented on anything.
I am sure she would never write anything innapropriate.
I asked her tell me exactly what she had been doing when she posted on her computer, and it was the same thing I did. I do not know why her posts are not posting. Any suggestions on what to do?
Look on a back page for them. And/or tell her to resend them.

This is purely out of curiosity, but do each of you (admins) have certain threads that you look through, or do you just check any of the comments?
All comments come in in one list. We just work from that list, oldest to newest.

Hi Admins,
Sorry if I sound rude, but... it seems like the comments are taking a while to be approved. Um, so what's going on..? (sorry, I'm trying to phrase this so it doesn't sound rude.)
I posted early this morning, then I went to church, then to visit a homebound church member, then home to post comments, then off to a flute/drum circle at a nearby state park, then out to dinner, now I'm back on posting comments.
What's going on is: my life and I'm the only one posting comments these days as the others have other projects.
