Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

FRESH ASK ADMIN
So yeah, this is the new AA thread, and I will ask the Admin: What happened to my post asking if I could make a movie about the CB? Are you guys discussing it?
Right. I opened it after 5 on Friday. So no one is likely to see the query till at least Monday morning.

Anonymous, please send an email with details, including your name and location to
cricket@cricketmagkids.com
so I can check the Cricket League records. We do send out press releases for winners who send us their newspaper email address. However, we have no control over whether the newspaper prints the information or not.
Thank you.

Admin, I have been wondering for a while if anyone lives in Virginia, and you see all the posts, so has anyone said they live at least somewhere near Virginia?
I don't remember any from Virginia recently. However, very few people fill in their real location, so we have no way of knowing. All we see as far a location is whatever you see posted.

Admin, I have been making new RP's and such, but then they get lost and I don't find them but other people do and start without me. Then they abandon it and I feel bad. Is there any way you guys could be able to delete some of the old threads? Like there are a gazillion threads nobody has looked at in years and nobody will probably ever look at them again. I think there needs to be a way to delete any threads like that.
If you're missing a thread, look on a back page. I'll pass on your request.

Admin,
People are posting drawings on the Chatterbox. How do you do that?
-Quicksilver
I'm not sure of the specifics. One of them can tell you better. You need to post it on another site first, then copy and paste it to Chatterbox.

Dear Admins,
Can you tell who is posting even if they post as Anonymous? Like, can you tell what CBer I am?
No, we can't tell. The only ID we see is what is typed in the Name field, in this case Anonymous.

Admins, is it legal to photocopy the crossword puzzle in the magazine? Just checking.
To be officially correct, we'll need to ask our Rights and Permissions manager.
My feeling is that it's OK to make one or two copies for your own use. Maybe you don't want to write in your magazine. Or two or more siblings each want to do it. Even for teachers in a class that might be OK. But no one is allowed to copy it with the intent of selling it.

Okay thanks. I intend on bringing in my Cricket issues to my class, so I want to do that in order to do the crossword. The crossword is always fun. I always wonder if the Admins make the crossword. But I don't think you are allowed to tell me because it would give away your names. Are you?
Our permissions manager says it is OK to make copies of the crossbird puzzle for your whole class. And I can tell you that none of we Admins make the puzzle. They are actually written by different people.

Thanks again. I'm bringing the whole magazine in, just to clarify. I am copying the crossword so I don't write in it. I don't want it to be done when I bring the magazine in. So I'll do the copied version so I can still do the puzzle.

Dear Admin,
I submitted a subject to Inkwell, it was a summer camp role play, and it's not showing up any more! I searched through lots of pages, but I can't find it. It's only been alive for one day, and I think I was the only comment, but does it really die out so quickly? Thanks!
I remember posting it, but I just posted your resent one, too. For some reason beyond our control, threads move to the very back page when someone replies. Then another reply will send it back to the top.

If you want to find a post that has disappeared in the back pages, click the "Submitted By" button (above the name of who made it and the day it was made) twice. The most recent posts should be there.

Is there a limit to how many RPs a person can have posted?
No.

How long does it take for Cricket to reach Lubbock, Texas ? Because my little sister has already got her Ladybug. And it seems that everyone has already got theirs.
We have no control over the US mail. If your sister's Ladybug has arrived, Cricket should arrive any day now. We do not actually consider an issue late until after the 15th of the month. And remember, you can find the current Cricket League contest theme and rules from the first of the month or sooner at
cricketmagkids.com/contests

Dear Admin~
Can we submit work to Cricket that isn't in a contest? If yes, how can we? If no, how come?
What is the "theme"? For the next Cricket magazine? Because this time is was mostly about inventors..?
Sorry for my possibly annoying questions!
The only student work we accept is in Cricket League. There is a new contest announced in each magazine. Entries must follow the specific theme and rules described in the magazine and at cricketmagkids.com/contests. This is the way we encourage young writers.
The reason we don't accept student work for the regular pages of the magazine is because we get hundreds or even thousands of manuscripts from adult writers around the world to consider each month. Competing with all of them might be discouraging for student writers.
We hope you understand. Thanks for asking.
