In other words,
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
In other words, a way for us to flatter each other immensely.
A lot of big shot writers- and debut authors and Other Authors- get interviewed and those interviews sometimes make it to a publisher's website, fansite, YouTube, TV sometimes, etc. etc.
Well, now it's time for the authors of the ChatterBox to get star treatment!
Every other day, someone will get picked to be Interviewed. Fellow CBers will post 3 questions i.e. Why did you start to write? and then the Author of (every other) Day will answer them (for their alloted 2 days of CB Stardom!). And then after their 2 days are over, they'll choose someone else to interview (or they could let me choose since I have too much time on my hands... *hinthint*)! And repeat repeat repeat. This is a good way to get everyone prepped and ready for their future real-life author interviews. And it's also fun. And flattering.
Try to pick someone who posts frequently, since they only have two days to answer des questions. (an easy way to do this is to click "Last Reply" on the thread twice so you can see who posted recently_
Now lettuce begin!
Let's start with... (*searches Inkwell and BaB for frequent post'er*)
SC!
From the information that I can gather in a few seconds, the intelligent SC is a frequent post'er on RPS. She is currently a part of the Deaderlands RP (which she also started) in which she plays/writes as Peter Pan. She is also part of the RP started by the phenomenal ARPS which currently has no title. She writes as Juliet Butler in said RP. There is a countless number of other RPs and RRs which she is a part of and/or started.
She was a participant- and winner- of the 2011 NaNoWriMo. Her hobbies include the delicate and renowned art of Running Like a Maniac, playing the piano and chorus. The music she novels to includes: New Divide and Famous Last Words, and the music she listens to when she is not novel'ing includes Muse, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and- occasionally- Greenday. She currently lives Somewhere In the Universe but also vacations to Narnia on occasion.
Her works include but are not limited to:
The Guardian Angiks of Demok High (a novel written for NaNoWriMo)
Endeyrory Pracea also known as Endey the Slayer in An Untitled Dragon RP (started by the amazing Tiffany W.)
Cartmer Tylara Animesti Tasbreeyard vika'Drom in New Character Lounge (which she also started)
Hephaestus in Mythology RP (started by the ever-so-smart Choco)
Nyx in Mythology RP
Shade Chase in Put-Your-Character-In-A-Room (started by the amazing Quintus) Shade Chase was also featured in another Character Lounge
Dante Rossi in Steampunk Fantasy Circus That Definitely Didn't Copy The Night Circus By Erin Morgenstern (started by yours truly)
Q&A Time!
(try a minimum of 3 for Maximum Flattering but more is always appreciated I'm sure)
Q: When did you start writing?
Q: Who is your favourite character that you have written? Including both original fiction and RP characters.
Q: Which character that you wrote would you say is most like you?
(sneaking in an extra few questions)
Q: Which character that you didn't write would you say is most like you?
Q: If you could write a story of your life, what would be the title?
And I probably stole half those questions from some interview or English worksheet. ;)
Now let the games begin!
(and if you were wondering, when I do my research, I do my research well) ;)
(April 6, 2012 - 11:37 am)
I've added you to the list! (anyone can join anytime :D)
(August 19, 2024 - 8:44 pm)
Updated list!
-Poinsettia
-CelineBurningBright
-Moon Wolf
-Hawkstar
-Amethyst
-pangolin
-Periwinkle
-Seadragon
(if I missed your name please lmk)
And from this list, I have chosen our next CB Author... Periwinkle!
Periwinkle is a writer and poet who has shared much of her work with the CB over the years. She has entered and won the Poetry Contest, participated in the Tag Game (one of the CB's best works, which ran for over a year), is writing a ski lodge, and is one of the most active Kyngdomers, helping to initiate and build its revival (which was successful, as Kyngdom is now thriving again). Within Kyngdom, she participated in important RPs and created the SOCS Boarding School RP, which has since become one of the most active RPs on the CB today.
Besides being prolific, Periwinkle is a marvelous writer and storyteller. Her descriptions are vivid and breathatking, conveying not just the image and sounds of a scene, but its atmosphere and emotional aspect. Her use of language is effective and, beyond that, beautiful, almost melodious. With just a few skillful words, she can create a character, a place, a scene, attracting readers through the lushness of her writing style and the originality and dynamism of the plot. She also has a wonderful sense of humor. Reading Periwinkle's work means transporting yourself to another world.

Sorry this took me so long! This was so much fun, thank you!!
1. What inspired you to start writing, and what makes you write now?
I’ve been writing so long it’s sort of hard to remember why I started! I’ve made up stories in my head for as long as I can remember. I think it was when teachers told me I ought to write them down that I started doing so! Nowadays I write because I love it - even when I get tired and need to take a break for a while, I always come back to writing :D
2. Do you consider yourself more of a writer or a poet?
Oof, that’s a hard one! To be fair, I have pages upon pages of completed poems and less completed stories. I guess that could make me more of a poet, but I also feel like I’m a writer. Perhaps I’m equal parts both?
3. What qualities do you want your writing to have?
I really want my writing to be powerful, and I mean this in a few different ways: for one thing, I want it to transport its readers into the world I describe, and I also want the story to stick with them for a long time. It’s also really important to me to make real, 3D characters!
4. What author (or other person) has influenced you most as a writer?
Is it okay for me to say this place? The Chatterbox has most helped me improve my writing and develop fantastic characters. I always feel encouraged to write here!
5. Of the ships you've written, which is your favorite? Why?
Another tricky question! Satom, my most popular ship, is a good one. If you don’t know them, they’re a ship from my ski lodge. Sonder is a somewhat sarcastic character who longs for independence and tries not to take anything too seriously - Atom can also be sarcastic, but is generally more serious than Sonder. Atom has many odd habits (such as eating peanut butter and Cheez-Its for breakfast) but Sonder never makes him feel weird about them. Although both of them are struggling with their identities and often do not feel they are worthy of each other’s love, they care for each other very deeply and each see their time together as an oasis in the otherwise very stressful things going on around them. I like this because they’re the most developed ship I’ve written, and they really do go very well together. Both characters are sort of sad, and it’s really nice to watch them make each other happier.
I have a few other ships; I’m working on a pretty great ship for my AE, Callum’s backstory. Callum wasn’t always the serious character he is today - he was actually a very outgoing prince once upon a time. He fell in love with the quiet, awkward Secunda. But their romance doesn’t have a happy ending :( I like this one because although it is ultimately a tragedy, it’s one of the more interesting ships I’ve written and is really important in shaping Callum’s character.
I could go on for longer - I love writing ships - but most of my other ships aren’t as developed so I won’t try to get into them now!
6. Any current projects you're working on?
I’m still chipping away at my ski lodge, and I’ve had a few side ideas maybe I’ll share here someday *mysterious laugh*
7. What do you like best about writing?
I love making and developing characters! The more I can immerse myself in their story, the better!
I can work on some questions today and hopefully have them up sometime tomorrow. Am I supposed to pick the next person at random or is there a specific order?
(August 25, 2024 - 7:41 am)
Wow, that was really interesting :)
um no I don't think there's a specific order - you can just pick someone from the list! Just make sure it's not someone who's already gone :)
(August 25, 2024 - 2:54 pm)
Woo, this is great, thanks for doing it :D And @Celine, it was so nice to read your interview too!
(August 29, 2024 - 7:20 pm)
Okay, I’ll do pangolin!
pangolin is an extremely talented author. During her time on the Chatterbox, they have shared many stories and poems, created a ski lodge, developed AEs, and contributed to the revival of Kyngdom.
pangolin is brilliant with her word choice, creating complex characters and describing their respective worlds in a seemingly effortless manner. They’re never afraid to try new things with her writing or take new routes. Their stories can be clever and fun just as much as they can be mysterious and dramatic.
One final thing to be said about pangolin is that not only does she contribute their own wonderful stories to the Chatterbox, but she also encourages others to do so as well. As a whole, she is a fantastic author who inspires many.
Here are my questions:
(August 26, 2024 - 8:00 pm)
