In other words,

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

CB Author Interviews AKA Author of (every other) Day!
In other words,...

In other words, a way for us to flatter each other immensely.

A lot of big shot writers- and debut authors and Other Authors- get interviewed and those interviews sometimes make it to a publisher's website, fansite, YouTube, TV sometimes, etc. etc.

Well, now it's time for the authors of the ChatterBox to get star treatment!

Every other day, someone will get picked to be Interviewed. Fellow CBers will post 3 questions i.e. Why did you start to write? and then the Author of (every other) Day will answer them (for their alloted 2 days of CB Stardom!). And then after their 2 days are over, they'll choose someone else to interview (or they could let me choose since I have too much time on my hands... *hinthint*)! And repeat repeat repeat. This is a good way to get everyone prepped and ready for their future real-life author interviews. And it's also fun. And flattering.

Try to pick someone who posts frequently, since they only have two days to answer des questions. (an easy way to do this is to click "Last Reply" on the thread twice so you can see who posted recently_

Now lettuce begin!

Let's start with... (*searches Inkwell and BaB for frequent post'er*)

SC!

From the information that I can gather in a few seconds, the intelligent SC is a frequent post'er on RPS. She is currently a part of the Deaderlands RP (which she also started) in which she plays/writes as Peter Pan. She is also part of the RP started by the phenomenal ARPS which currently has no title. She writes as Juliet Butler in said RP. There is a countless number of other RPs and RRs which she is a part of and/or started.

She was a participant- and winner- of the 2011 NaNoWriMo. Her hobbies include the delicate and renowned art of Running Like a Maniac, playing the piano and chorus. The music she novels to includes: New Divide and Famous Last Words, and the music she listens to when she is not novel'ing includes Muse, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and- occasionally- Greenday. She currently lives Somewhere In the Universe but also vacations to Narnia on occasion.

Her works include but are not limited to:

The Guardian Angiks of Demok High (a novel written for NaNoWriMo)

Endeyrory Pracea also known as Endey the Slayer in An Untitled Dragon RP (started by the amazing Tiffany W.)

Cartmer Tylara Animesti Tasbreeyard vika'Drom in New Character Lounge (which she also started)

Hephaestus in Mythology RP (started by the ever-so-smart Choco)

Nyx in Mythology RP

Shade Chase in Put-Your-Character-In-A-Room (started by the amazing Quintus) Shade Chase was also featured in another Character Lounge

Dante Rossi in Steampunk Fantasy Circus That Definitely Didn't Copy The Night Circus By Erin Morgenstern (started by yours truly)

Q&A Time!

(try a minimum of 3 for Maximum Flattering but more is always appreciated I'm sure)

Q: When did you start writing?

Q: Who is your favourite character that you have written? Including both original fiction and RP characters.

Q: Which character that you wrote would you say is most like you?

(sneaking in an extra few questions)

Q: Which character that you didn't write would you say is most like you?

Q: If you could write a story of your life, what would be the title?

And I probably stole half those questions from some interview or English worksheet. ;)

Now let the games begin!

(and if you were wondering, when I do my research, I do my research well) ;)

Okay, our current participants are:

-Poinsettia (me)

-CelineBurningBright

-Amethyst

-Moon Wolf

-Periwinkle

I think that's enough people to start with! Thank you to everyone who's participating, by the way :)

Would everyone be all right with it if I choose and interview the first interviewee? I don't want to be bossy or pushy (lord, what I started to type at first was "bushy or possy" ://), I just want to make sure it's all coordinated. If someone else wants to pick,, that's fine with me!

Okay, I'm going to just go ahead with this :) Here are a few rules:

1. If you get picked to be interviewed, but you can't or don't want to respond, you don't have to.  After a couple of days, another person can be picked.

2. All questions are optional - skip any! :)

3. The interviewer asks the CB Author (interviewee) a few questions (say about  six) to start with, and then over the next couple of days, anyone who wants to can ask the CB Author other questions. After a few days, the Author should choose and interview a new person. If the Author isn't able to do the interviewing, the interviewing falls to the previous CB Author.

4. Anyone can sign up to participate! Interviewees should be chosen from the list of participants.

With that, I am pleased to announce the new CB Author - the first to be featured on this thread for twelve years! Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome... CelineBurningBright!

*clapping and music*

Celine is one of the CB's talented authors and poets. She is writing the Sunbeam Inn ski lodge, under the name of Luxury & Contentment, to great acclaim. She is also a contributor to Kyngdom, helping to shape renowned pieces of writing that include the Woodland RP, the BIG Cadet Academy RP, and the Bog + Burrow RP. Celine has also entered the Poetry Contest numerous times, never failing to come up with vibrant interpretations of the themes, and the Stylist Writing Contest, displaying the warmth and vividness of her writing. She is a talented and promising author whose writing voice expresses joy, sorrow, and the full range of emotions with skill and flair. Her characters are vivid and appealing, her ideas unique. CelineBurningBright will surely become an amazing author beyond the CB. In today's interview, we will gain an exclusive insight into her inspirations and her writing journey.

Now for the questions! (You can skip any question if you aren't comfortable with it :) ) Here they are:

1. What made you start writing? Nowadays, what inspires you to write?

2. If you're trying to affect your readers (as opposed to writing for your own entertainment) how do you want your writing to change their thoughts or feelings?

3. What traits do you most like in a character?

4. If the second favorite of your characters fell in love, who would he or she fall in love with?

5. Computer, typewriter, notebook, or other? Where and when do you prefer to write?

6. Suppose your wickedest villain is about to do a dastardly deed... then his mom comes around the corner and snatches away his sword/wand/whatever and tells him to do the dishes, how does he react?

7. If the favorite of your male characters is at a dance, and I ask him if he wants to dance with me, how would he react? (I love these how-would-your-characters-react questions...)

8. What are your main interests? Anything else you'd like us to know about you?

Thank you for this interview, Celine - we will eagerly await your answers :)

Oh... wow... thank you, Poinsettia. That is... wow. Words. Yup.

..wow.

Um okiee idk what to say really haha so... question! Answering! While I have free time!

1. What made me start writing? Um, well. Idk. School? XD Yeah probably like school assignments and stuff put the pencil into my hand and the paper on my desk. Though really I really... don't know. Somehow, I've never thought about it. I've been writing as far back as I can remember. When I was little, I was always writing books with my brother or BFF or random classmates at school---for most of them (excluding the book I wrote with two of my classmates (who illustrated what I wrote down) about our guinea pig class pets in first grade), we never really got further than a few pages, but it was fun anyways :D

Actually, my National Novel Writing Month (can we say this @admins? It's not the name of the website, I don't think. :) ) novel/my novel in general is basically the book my brother and I started working on together four years ago (again, he was the illustrator, I was the writer. This was sorta how a lot of my early partnerships worked out? Except with my best friend forever, where we both wrote) until I got super mad at him because I thought he was being too controlling (he probably was... but also maybe I just work better alone) and we got into this "big" fight (XD) and he quit working on the book and I got MORE mad 'cuz of that and then forgot about the novel for a year. Um anyways. What was I---oh yeah.

So uh to abruptly change to another topic right now, I guess what kept me writing, for fun, is... well, I'm a super creative person. And I have a huge imagination. And I've been a huge bookworm literally ever since I was in preschool. So... that's all got to go somewhere, right? :) But seriously, writing is awesome. Like you can do ANYTHING once you have a pencil in your hand and a paper before you. Anything is possible!!! It's so freeing :D

okay yup there's still another part of the question... Ig what keeps me writing today is that I realize that I can really make a difference with my work. I can put beauty into this world that wasn't there before---I can put beauty into people's lives. I can change their lives! And also I'm part of a... well, a minority, I guess? I'm female, I'm Chinese, I'm queer, I'm introverted... and there're so many things with these things in literature that I get SO ANGRY at (I won't name names, just because I don't want to go into that right now...) so... I want to try to, idk, make a difference in that? Yeahh... :D okay also writing gives me a good excuse to have people stop talking to me XD plus it's beautiful to see your ideas and thoughts come onto the paper as words. I think that's also why I like to write such long, rambling posts. And hate to delete them afterwards even when I should. Writing is really a beautiful thing, I think.

Also mainly because it's just plain fun.

2. Okay well, sort-of-kind-of contrary to what I said up there ^ I actually do also write a LOT for my own self. Writing to affect others is a large part of it, which is also why I'm so set on publishing someday, but writing is also very much something I do for me. But aNyWaYs. Well, I want to prove that being introverted is NOT a bad thing to be. And introversion is not the same thing as shy. And also I don't want to tone down introversion at all in my characters, which is something I sometimes see in books. I want my characters to be fully themselves and I want people to see how great they can be especially when they are fully themselves. And I want to show that platonic love is just as strong as romantic love (though I do love writing both) and I want to show that male characters can like more "feminine" things and I just really really really want people to be more empathetic to each other. I feel like everyone gets so caught up in their own worlds and feelings and situations that they can't see outside of their bubble, can't understand that someone can be different than them, and I think the world would be so much better if people could just stop and think for a second, and realize... idk. And realize that the world is so much bigger than them. I want people to help each other, and I think a good way to start doing that is by understanding each other. And I think my characters could help with that. And people can see that it IS okay to like "kids"' shows and... welp I can hear the fire siren as I'm typing this. I hear that way too much. Literally three times every day. I count. Mmm. :/

okay I lost my train of thought. Moving on!

3. Well, I like (my/other) characters to be empathetic. I like them to be genuine. That's really all I can think of. Oh, wait! Also I like them to see the world with wonder, and to find beauty and awe in the every day. :) and to not be annoying.

andd also to have a good sense of humor :) though that one's not required.

4. Hmm well my second favorite character... I have like, three. Who are really all tied for first favorite because I can't decide who's my first favorite and second favorite and third favorite. So all three are all three. Well, two of my second favorite characters are in love with each other, soo... :D the third one is... hmm. If she fell in (romantic) love... well, she will later in my story, with a sweet, caring boy... not her sweet, caring best friend who happens to be a boy ofc (wait although I love his character a lot too...), but like... hm I don't know how to describe him. I mean, I know who he is, but... idk, he's like a breath of fresh air? He's not arrogant or cocky. Just... sweet. And comftorable in his own skin, though he doesn't really think about that? Hehee thank you for the character development moment---he's more of a minor character, and the last time I wrote him he was like some sort of... mosquito?? Lanternfly?? I forgot. But yeah I haven't really thought too much about him as a human, so... thank you :D

5. Computer. I used to write on paper but then I kept on losing my papers... plus the waste of paper. o_O And I write wherever and whenever inspiration strikes!

6. Hmm but what if my wickedest villain isn't he/him? Jk :) Actually, he is, and he isn't THAT wicked (okay actually he is, but he's good-natured). He would probably just go do the dishes :D he's cool like that. I actually like him a lot, too.

oh, also I like writing because I'm weird. And I come up with some of the wackiest takes on situations. And if I don't write it, no one else will (or they won't write it like how I can imagine it unfolding). My dad said I give something like a fresh perspective or something?? That was like the gist of it.

7. Well... my favorite male character is aroace :P so. He'd just be like... inwardly panicking and would like awkwardly be like um sorry but thank you but no thank you but um sorry and go hide behind like his best friend if she was also at the party XD. sorry.

8. I have... a lot of main interests. My consistent interests, though, are reading, writing, nature (including animals (including bugs)), talking even though I'm superrr introverted, sElF iSoLaTiOn (yayy :/), watching TV shows (TOH! Gravity Falls! Amphibia! Etc.!), talking to my friends (and by "talking" I mean pondering life's greatest mysteries~~~ :D but also just plain talking :D), fun facts, puns, words, looking at things with wonder and awe, dancing, and singing... and playing piano/cello! And playing soccer! And getting excited at all my daydreams and start working to make them come true and mass emailing all my friends a 20 paragraph essay about everything because that's how excited I am and the excitement only lasts for like four days before I move on to another, life-changing project! But actually recently I've actually been making differences with my ideas. Which is a pretty cool feeling.

Also I like daydreaming/thinking/sitting still staring into space while everyone else is talking and laughing around me and soaking in the atmosphere.

People don't really understand why I like to do that. Do apparently I can't do that and have to (ugh) socialize. I mean, I like socializing, I really do!, just on my own terms. :/

It's so great that you want to help people be more empathetic and understanding to each other, I wish there were more writers like that.
