The Longest Thread
The longest thread...

The longest thread on CaC is now finished. I would not like that thread to ever die, so...I pronounced that thread closed. It is not dead, it was just put to sleep. :-)

Anyways, we CBers now have a new mission. We need to make the longest thread ever made here on BaB. The main topic of this thread is books. Please feel free to chat about any books you like.

We have a big challenge, though. We need to get more than 1061 posts! Do you think we can accomplish it? If we try our best we can!

Okay, enough of the pep talk. Let's get chatting!!!! :-D

Somebody post something please. Well, if no one is going to post anything then I am just going to ramble on. Right now I have I think 7 books checked out of a couple libraries: The Candle Man, Book Two: The Society of Dread; Heaven to Betsy and Betsy in Spite of Herself (Two stories in one binding); Betsy Was a Junior and Betsy and Joe (Same as previous. All of them Betsy-Tacy high school stories); Inkheart Trilogy, Book Two: Inkspell; The Chronicles of Prydain, Book One: The Book of Three; The Kingdom Keepers, Book Two: Disney at Dawn; The Kingdom Keepers, Book Three: Disney in Shadow.

I think that is all. Who has read these some of these books? Do you like the ones you have read? I thought this might help to get this going again.

I love the Inkheart Trilogy! I read it during Hurricane Ike with no electricity, so I got through it rather quickly; I've read it a couple times since then. It's great! I also love Reckless, The Thief Lord, and Dragon Rider by th same author.

Thank you for reading Reckless! That is one of my all time favorite books, but sadly, no one else in my school has read it except the person who recommended it to me. I recommend Malice by Chris Wooding if you liked Reckless, but Malice is way scarier

Has anybody else read Graceling by Kristin Cashore? One of the best books of all time.

Bordertown is the city between our world and Elfland, not at town between the U.S. and Mexico. Read the anthologies, edited by Terri Windling.

I read and enjoyed Graceling, though I wouldn't say it was one of the best books of all time. (Additionally, I have some problems with recommending it on a website like this one, simply because the average age here is a bit low and Graceling contains some, ah, content, that I don't think really needs to be there.) I read Fire as well (the prequel) and thought it the better book.

I've actually been seeking out the Bordertown books - I've only heard about them recently, because a new anthology came out and I saw discussion of it in several different places - but I've not seen any in any bookstore/library I've been in recently.

I've been wanting to read Graceling, but I have no idea when I'll get around to it. I like the premise very much.

What is Graceling about?

@WritingWarrior: I read Howl's Moving castle and I LOVED IT! The other two books weren't quite as good, but still really enjoyable. The only problem is that it's a little slow. By the way, have you seen the movie by Hayao Miyazaki?

Graceling is about a girl, Katsa, who is "Graced" with killing. In the seven kingdoms, sometime after a child is born, they may wake up one day and have eyes of two different colors. This indicates that they are "Graced" or have a special skill. This skill can be anything from treeclimbing to archery to killing. No two Graces are the same. In six of the seven kingdoms, Gracelings become the property of the king.

Diana Wynne Jones is amazing. Try the Chrestomanci chronicles, I like those a lot.

Spammy says riwk. Rick? Wick? I don't know a Rick, Spammy, and candle wicks aren't that important.

As said on many Percy Jackson roleplays, Spammy is as hard to understand as the Oracle.

I've never read most of the book on this so I'm putting on some of my favorite series.

The "Warrior" series

The "Sisters Grimm" series

The "Love comes softly" series.

I have a lot more that I really like but thats all I can think of at this moment because I don't know about you but I don't memorize all the books I read. Laughing

OMGness, The Hunger Games series is SOOOO GOOOD!!!!!! It's all about the USA in the future, and this girl Katniss Everdeen lives in District 12 and then there's this annual Hunger Games, where the Capitol sends 24 tributes (two from each district) and they fight to the death, there's one winner.

IT'S SOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love it! It's just amazing, I recommend it to all age levels. It has action, romance, fiction, suspense, it's just perfect for everyone, in my opinion. :)

Hunger Games = Awesomeness. Spammy says dtet. Ditto? Glad you agree with me, Spammy

Hello? MAXIMUM RIDE!!!!!!!!!!! Most awesome kickbutt genetic mutant ever!! The writing is pretty good, but I don't like her after the book Fang, because then she gets to conflicted with the two boys. And I don't really like all the save the world cryptic stuff.

But on scale of 1-10 of kick butt.... Max Ride is so a 17

PEOPLES!!!

Hello! Come on, people, this is supposed to be the  longest thread on Blab About Books, not the shortest!!

I just saw the word "Hunger Games" and... I READ THEM! Oh my gosh! They are amazing. I really couldn't figure out who Katniss would "fall in love" with... I mean Peeta and Gale both seemed nice. I was leaning towards Gale for a while, yet by the third book I was all for Peeta. The second book is most likely my favorite. After reading them, I've realized something scary; it's almost as if Suzanne Collins is predicting what will happen in the future and I think if we don't fix something there is a big chance that "The Hunger Games" will happen all over again. These books are amazing and (as you might have guessed) they made a humongous impact on me.

Speaking of the Hunger Games,  I have heard rumors about it being R and so on. I personally don't think it's anywhere near R but it'll most likely be PG-13. And I am NOT happy with the girl who is playing Katniss (I only saw a picture, though). The girl who plays Primrose (again, judging a book by its cover) seems good.

I think I'm going to make a Hunger Games RP now.
