The Longest Thread
The longest thread...
The longest thread on CaC is now finished. I would not like that thread to ever die, so...I pronounced that thread closed. It is not dead, it was just put to sleep. :-)
Anyways, we CBers now have a new mission. We need to make the longest thread ever made here on BaB. The main topic of this thread is books. Please feel free to chat about any books you like.
We have a big challenge, though. We need to get more than 1061 posts! Do you think we can accomplish it? If we try our best we can!
Okay, enough of the pep talk. Let's get chatting!!!! :-D

That was the sixth one.

Who else is dying waiting for the next Heroes of Olympus book? (Not literally of course) I am especially as it's about Percy. It sounds thrilling. I want to know how the people at the Roman camp react to Percy.
And reading the books really makes me want to redo the movie The Lightning Thief. I wish someone would as I think it would be an amazing movie if someone did it right. And think if someone did all of them and then did the next series.

Okay, I seriously have to read Kingdom Keepers and the Kane Chronicles. Everyone has them on their list! I really hope I can get them from the library before Monday, as I'm going to be on a plane and need more books to read. I have a feeling that I won't be able to resist reading the ones I've already got.

@Lizzy- I wish kids could direct that movie. They know so much more about PJ than adults. For other directors, it's all about the money.

@Elizabeth M.: Those directors probably don't see us as people. I bet they see us as money. :(

List of Favourite Bools (actually fav. authours, too many books)
TERRY PRATCHETT
JANE AUSTEN
EOIN COLFER
ANNE McCAFFREY
MADELINE L'ENGLE
There are a lot more, but those are my 5 favourites.

@Elizabeth M.: I agree. And I don't think it's that hard to find people that are similar to the people in the books. I mean can't they even find someone that has the same hair color or eye color? Sorry I was about to go on a rant. Things like that always make me mad.
So what is another topic to discuss about books. Something besides our favorites. Something like we did with PJatO vs. HP. I didn't think it was too heated. I would have joined in but it always seemed like the wrong moment. (By the way I think PJatO is way better then HP, but that is just my opinion.)
Can anyone think of any popular series that would be suitable?
(July 3, 2011 - 3:28 pm)
I don't know, it might be hard to find something we've all read. Comparing anything to HP usually works, though, since lots of people have read it. Maybe we could make up some sort of rating system, so people could say exactly what they liked and disliked. Like how well-written it was, how good the plot was, how funny it was, how good the characters were, etc. Just tossing around some ideas here!
P.S. Spammy says "ptzu". Do you want to eat pizza, Spammy? Are you hungry?

@Lizzy- *is in total agreement* And they could also find someone with the RIGHT age! I mean, sure they could be thirteen or so but the PJ guy (Logan Lerman?) is like twenty at the moment! Oh, and what does PJatO mean?
@Alexandra- I like your ideas, but what about putting a twist in like (this is an IDEA) Percy and Harry-> Plot 1-10 (as in 1= worst and 10=best) and then maybe a comment to it. This is just an idea!

@Elizabeth M.: Percy Jackson and the Olympians. And what do you mean? Like for each book?

Afton, are you a boy or a girl? I'm sorry if this comes across as rude.
I'm pretty sure Afton said she's a girl.

Afton's a girl?! I thought she was a boy! Oh dear. :)

Thanks, Admin!!

@Analesia- Yes, I am a girl. I was thinking about pretending to be a guy, but I changed my mind. And I didn't think it was rude at all. I actually get mistaken for a guy in real life sometimes. I have really short hair and I dress like a boy a lot. I also have an army trenchcoat from 1950 that is about a thousand times too big for me that I wear, and that doesn't help with it either. So I'm used to being mistaken for a guy.

@Elizabeth M.: You never answered my previous question. Did you mean that we would judge the PJ HP books from 1 to 10 each?
