Simple enough rules: Post a quote from any book (no movies, please) and the rest of us will try to guess it. The first person to get it right (and the person who put up the quote has to confirm this) gets to post another quote. If everybody gives up, then the person who posted the quote may tell where it's from. Also, let's not do Harry Potter quotes -- they're really easy for most people here to guess. 

So here's mine: 
"'I do not have a pointy hat!'"

I have no idea where that's from. Also, are we not allowed to post a new quote until the old one is guessed? Because that will make things SO much simpler.

I think it is best to wait until the quote is either a) guessed or b) revealed before putting up a new one, yes. Also: If your quote has proper nouns that would give it away, you can replace them with things like [character] or [place]. And please don't look it up on Google or whatever -- it's just no fun for anybody that way.

I should have guessed that! I love that series. Oh, well. The Amaranth of Samarkand? That's the one I remember least well, having read it first and never reread it.
