"Oh, thank you Colorstar! I will spend many moons of rest and peace." I padded into my new den, and fell asleep on the soft moss.

"Really? I'm a warrior? This is what I've been waiting for my whole life! Finally! What's my first warrior mission?" 

"Well Socktail you could come on patrol with me if you'd like." she asked.

(Nope, Orangeflame and Sockpaw are ZB.)

"Okay, is it a border or hunting patrol?"

"Hunting patrol. We should go now it is almost sunhigh." Then they padded out of camp.

"Okay, let's go!" We left camp, and soon we had two shrews, a vole, and a baby fox Leafmist thought was a really big rabbit. I heard a rustle in the bushes, and cats jumped out of them. "Attack!!!!" The biggest one yelled. They were rouges, by the smell of them, and they had no warrior training. It was a fight to the death, for them. Leafmist and I hissed and screamed, trying to act normal and get attention from home. A small black she-cat jumped on me, so my yelps were drowned out by fur and the horrible two-leg scent that these cats lived in. We rolled over, and I put my paws on her. I leaned in for a nip, but she kicked off with her back legs and I flew over her body. I landed, and sort of slid. Using the best trick there was, I lay still and lifeless. She came over, and tried to use the killing bite, and my eyes flashed open, and nipped her leg. In surprise, she raced away. 1 down, StarClan knows how many more.

"Socktail! Run back to camp as fast as you can and get help! I can hold them off long enough." as Socktail ran back to camp another cat jumped out at Leafmist. The cat pinned her down and was about to aim a killing blow. But then the weight fell off her shoulders and she turned to see Yellowflame pinning the cat down but was struggling. So Leafmist went to help her. Darkstripe and Socktail were battling a black and white broad shouldered tom and Colorstar was against an orange she cat. Leafmist was breathing heavily and felt dizzy. She had lost a lot of blood but had to keep at it. Then she heard a yowl and the cats fled. There was spattered blood everywhere and Colorstar looked badly injured. Leafmist fell to the ground and couldn't remember anything until lying in the medicine den. She had stopped bleeding but felt dizzy so went to lie down in the warriors den wondering how the other cats were doing. 

"Spiritflight? You haven't posted in a while, and lots of cats are injured." I padded into the warriors den, but fell flat on my face. I had a wrenched claw and a twisted leg.

"Yah Spiritflight we need you I can't move one of my paws. I think it might be broken and I am still bleeding badly," she moaned. 

"Hi. I used to be a medicine cat and until Spiritflight comes back I will be glad to help your Clan."

"Oh, thank you so much, Swiftfeather!! What Clan are you from? Or are you from StarClan?"

"Yes I am from StarClan, but they have granted me the ability to stay here as long as I am welcome and I also have battle skills so when Spiritflight comes back I can help as a warrior. But if not I am glad to be your medicine cat. Now let's see to these wounds. First I will see to Darkstripe. For your torn claw you will only need to be careful of it and it will grow back. For your twisted foot, comfrey, and for all of your scratches I will use marigold and cobwebs. For Leafmist I will use comfrey for your broken paw and cobwebs and marigold for the bleeding and scratches as well. And now Socktail. Oh we're out of comfrey. I will go out and fetch some. I will be back soon." She padded out of camp. She searched all around the territory and finally found some. "OK, I'm back now. Here Socktail. Here's some comfrey and I will have to cut your claw and see if it grows back OK. Now I want all of you to go to the warriors den and rest," she told them. "OK," replied Leafmist, Darkstripe, and Socktail.
