OK, HAVE ANY...
OK, HAVE ANY CRICKET READERS READ THIS SERIES?? I ABSOLUTELY LUV IT AND I AM OBSESSED. I'M AN OOTF (OFFICIAL OBSESSIVE TWILIGHT FREAK) AND I HAVE OCD (OBSESSIVE CULLEN DISORDER). OMG I LUV THEM ALL SOOOO MUCH THAT I CAN'T PICK A FAVE. NO LIE, THESE ARE ACTUAL STATISTICS: I HAVE READ TWILIGHT 11 TIMES, NEW MOON 3 TIMES (IT MAKES ME DEPRESSED), ECLIPSE 5 TIMES, AND BREAKING DAWN 4 TIMES. (I DON'T OWN ECLIPSE OR BREAKING DAWN....YET.) I READ TWILIGHT IN 3 HOURS THE FIRST TIME. STEPHENIE MEYER IS MY IDOL. I AM ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED AND LOOKING FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN THE REALM OF AWESOMENESS (PEOPLE WHO READ CRICKET) TO TALK TO. TWILIGHT ROX!!!

I am 12, and my mom didn't stop me from reading breaking dawn...(of course, she didn't actually know I was reading the series until she saw new moon in my backpack while she was looking for a piece of snapware.) She didn't stop me then, though. I doubt if she knows what Bella and Edward do in breaking dawn, but she's pretty laid back about what I read. I will admit that I am a little jealous of Bella, you know, her life's perfect and everything...but I am also jealous of Alice because of Jasper. (Jasper's so cool!)

I love Twilight too! I've read the whole series. I definitely think that Breaking Dawn was the best out of all of them.

Ugh, TOO many people are obsessed. I have a friend just like you, Lauren, who sometimes drives me nuts. The Twilight saga is okay (just my opinion -- please don't jump all over me!), but she rants and raves about it ALL the time.

I'm not like 'oh my gosh twilight is soooo awesome!!' Though I do like the series.

Your third sentence is exactly what I think;Twilight is okay.

whoah, this is creepy! There is another Lauren C. who is 12! Hi! At least you are from wisconsin. I'm from California.

Are you KIDDING, Lauren?
Just my personal opinion, but you are painfully misled. Seriously? Obsessive Cullen Disorder? Perhaps you meant to be funny, but if we're seriously fantasizng about marriage with vampires, we have to rethink our taste in guys and literature. Face it: no one is the perfect man that Edward is made out to be. The first two books are fine and good but I do NOT think that as a twelve-year-old you should be reading the last two. You are absolutely correct: These books are wildly obsessive and dangerous if taken the wrong way. Ms. Meyer is a young mother with three (two?) little sons: think about the morals she's imparting to them! "Mommy writes books about vampires and she thinks you should go date the Tooth Fairy." I've got nothing against good clean fantasy novels, but when we start thinking that vampires are real and that it would be way cool to do the things Bella des with Edward, then we really should, once again, rethink our taste in boys and books. And our priorities. If we're "obsessed" with finding a vampire to marry, then good luck, old maid. Because let me put this simply: VAMPIRES HAVE NEVER, DO NOT, AND WILL NEVER EXIST. It's fine to imagine (fine? it's wonderful!) but you can't let this fictional fantasy become your realities. When we think that we'll meet a vamp in biology and totally enchant him so that we start living the "perfect fairy tale love story" then we can't focus on real life because we think everything will work out no matter what. Well, you want to end up like Bella- go for it! But I wouldn't suggest it!
Sorry if this offended anybody or seemed rude. My caps and exclamations are not meant harshly, just trying to get my point through. And this is nothing personal, Lauren. Or any other "Official Obsessive Twilight Freaks" out there. But I would just like to sugges that, once again, you rethink your opinions. Because being obsessed with Mr. Cullen is going to make it tricky to find a real true love, because you'll be comparing them all to Edward. And none will measure up. And that's not fair to you or anybody else. So for your own good, Lauren and anybody else: PLEASE RETHINK.
Thank you.

Without having read the books, I agree with you, Mary W. Especially the last paragraph. And, Lauren, I don't want to upset you, but I have real OCD and it's kind of annoying when people make jokes like that. Sorry if that hurt your feelings. I know you didn't know. But, lest this become like Global Warming, creation vs. evolution, or Obama vs. McCain, I'll try not to get heated.
(February 8, 2009 - 8:21 am)
No such thing as global warming, or evolution. And go, McCain--though I know we're all past that.
(February 8, 2009 - 5:57 pm)
Yes, we are past that, so let's not argue over things like that.
(February 11, 2009 - 5:40 pm)
Gosh if they want to be obsessed with a book let them just because you think it's stupid doesnt mean it is! LIVE A LITTLE!
(February 13, 2009 - 3:22 pm)
Your name is MARISOL? I know someone with that name!
(February 13, 2009 - 6:08 pm)
Sorry if I offended you, Marisol. I never said it was stupid or that I thought it was, it's just my personal opinion that some obsessions of my friends are carried too far, and that my view of the book wasn't that great. I'm not trying to convince anyone to side with me, or saying that being obsessed with it is terrible - I was merely typing my views.
(February 14, 2009 - 6:58 pm)
My opinion over Twilight isn't much... it's OK I certainly didn't read them in three hours though!!!! I guess they are... OK
(February 15, 2009 - 1:48 pm)
Actually, Marisol, I don't see why WE can't state OUR opinions on Twilight but you can state yours ON ours. I'm inclined to side with Allison P. on this one- this is a place we can OPENLY DISCUSS our thoughts on literature and it's okay if anyone disagrees or we don't see eye-to-eye. We are just fine with pleasant, healthy, friendly disagreements- and forgive me if I misinterpret- but that's not what yours sounds like.
And once again, like Allison P. said- we aren't calling the books "stupid." I dislike the message they send, and Allison thinks they're too addictive for the wrong reasons. Immoral and addictive are not the same as "stupid." It's good writing, but I personally think it's geared the wrong way. "Stupid" entails we don't have our facts right and we're just looking for blind insults. But this isn't the case.
Lastly... "live a little"? Uh, how are we not "living"? We don't think it would be fun and romantic to date a vampire? Weeeeell, Marisol, truthfully, that just sounds like common sense to me. Or we don't like the same books all the other young people do? So we're skating against the crowd. Okay. Certainly not a bad thing- if you ask me, a sign of independence and individualistic thinking.
So maybe I'm overreacting, but I thought your post was a little rude and quick to judge. If you like the books or disagree with us, just go right out and say it. We haven't got a problem with that.
