Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Redwall
This book is...

This book is sooo good! It's the first book in the Redwall series, by Brian Jacques (say it: Jakes). It is about Redwall Abbey in Mossflower woods. All the mice and other woodland creatures who live there are peaceful. But soon their peace will be shattered, because Cluny is coming! Cluny is a huge, one-eyed rat with a tail as long as a whip with a poison barb on the end. He and his army attack Redwall. The mice are able to defend themselves, but if they had the sword of Martin the Warrior, the founder of Redwall, they would be sure to win. Enter Matthias, a clumsy young novice in the order of Redwall. With the help of some wonderful friends, he sets out to find the sword of Martin. Will the mice win? Will Matthias find Martin's sword? Read this book to find out.

Go dibbuns! My favorite of the books is Mossflower. I love making up my own tunes to the songs, too.

If you want to find out how the songs are, you should listen to the readings of the books by recorded books.  There is a different voice for each charactar and Brian Jaques narrates them!  The songs are really cool.

We read this book in English, and it was great. I think I've read Mossflower, too, but that's it. There are so many others, I don't know what to choose! Any recommendations?

Hannah, if you've read Mossflower, then I recommend reading Martin the Warrior. It's sad, but it's a great story. As the title suggests, it's about Martin, only he's younger. Unlike what Martin says in Mossflower, when he's is young, Martin and his grandmother are made slaves by Badrang, the villian in the story. Martin is helped to escape by a mousemaid named Rose and her friend Grumm, the mole. I won't tell you the rest of the story, but it's very adventurous and exciting.

After reading Mossflower read Mattimeo, which is about Martin's son.  And then Mariel of Redwall, I think.  Someone check me on this, but Mariel is the one about Martin's love right?

Actually, that's not correct. Mattimeo is about Matthias's son, not Martin; and Mariel isn't even in the same time! It's a completely different story, and Martin's love is called Rose, by the way!

Oh sorry.  I haven't read them in so long.  I guess it really doesn't matter how you read them anyway because they're all a complete story.  And sorry again.

You should read The Taggerung, too!!!!! It's great! It's about an otter that's got legendary fighting skills that gets captured by vermin when he's a baby. It's one of my favorites!

Oh, a celebrity! *Swoons dramatically*  I wonder if someone will write in as Winnie the Pooh. Oh, hey, maybe Link and Zelda should go to the post on video games...

I'm not laughing at you, I just thought it was really weird that two different people were calling themselves Link and Zelda. But that is apparently not the case. The post about video games is on down to earth by me. It's pretty easy to recognise, if you can find it. :) :) :)
