Twilight

by Stephenie Meyer

It's a really good story about loving somone no matter how different you are from each other. It's not just a love story, it's really good. It'ss up there with Romeo and Juliet for romance.

Nooo!!!!  I bet she was just saying that. Not everyone is in love with vampires and girls getting married before it's legal. >=( Okay, I admit it. I haven't read it.  My mom read the first one and she said it was good.  Not fantastic, not worthy of worship, just good.  The whole Twilight thing is just annoying.  I don't want to be seen reading it, or even holding it.  It just sounds... bad.  How It could be claimed to be the best book ever is beyond me.  It's like high school musical.  Everyone loved it, and I saw it, and I was like 'this is NOT worthy of all that fuss'.  I bet something similar will happen IF I ever read Twilight.  I just want to read it because I want to know what all this fuss is about and be able to give arguments about why it is bad.

Oh, yeah, and all of those Edward fangirls out there.... Edward is not 'hot' because he does not exist. End of question. Would you want a boyfriend who stalks you, abuses you, and sounds all-around creepy? Nooo-ooo.  I guess you could call me somewhat 'Antwi', if I say so myself.  (Antwi= anti Twilight)

I may read it, just to have something to make fun of. =)

And don't go all 'oh you'll LOVE it' on me.  I'll probably not.

I love these books, and I have read all 4. I don't know if I like them or Harry Potter more, though, so I have decided to like them equally.

My favorite characters are, in order  of preference; Alice, Renesmee, Emmett, Jasper, Carslisle, Esme.................

Okay, I don't know where Edward and Jacob go in my list. Please don't come and haunt me for the rest of my life!

(Oh and Leah is higher than Edward and Jacob.)Wink

I did not really like this book. It was pretty boring; the bad guys didn't come for, like 400 pages? The first 400 were basically:

*Bella and Edward meet*
*Bella and Edward fall in love; her because of his 'perfection', him because of her blood smell*
Edward: I am dangerous. We can't be friends.
*Both sulk*
Edward: Okay, I give up. We can be friends.
Bella: YAY!!! You are perfect, beautiful, and sparkly and I love you SOOO much...
Edward: You are stupid. And clumsy. And I am dangerous.
Bella: You are perfect anyway.
*repeat last three lines for most of the book*
*Bad guys come*
*Bad guys are defeated*
*Bad guys leave*
Also, Edward was not 'perfect' to me. My idea of perfect does not include someone who calls you stupid, stalks you, eavesdrops on your conversations and doesn't give you any privacy. Yeah, he's beautiful. But he's creepy and follows Bella everywhere. And what do they really talk about, other than Edward being a vampire? Nothing much.

I kinda like it.  But I only like the part that isn't romancy.  Romancy stuff is boring to me.  I like fantasy and adventure.

Yay, TNO (umlaut) and Lena! I utterly agree with everything you said! In Smeyer's books, the characters live in a world where there are no consequences, wise decisions, or grammar.

And yes, Bellatrix, the T-shirts are SO annoying. "The lion fell in love with the lamb." "I dream of being with you forever." "I don't want to be a monster." Acch! GR-OSS!

No stars (crickets?)!

'I dream of being with you forever?' No offense, but that's pretty funny!

I am not sure about the book but I plan to look at it soon. My dad asked if I wanted someone who works with my dad to give me those books. BTW,I got a peek at New Moon, which i found in the apartment of a friend with whom my family was staying in. It begins with Bella turning eighteen. I only peeked at the beginning. I plan to read it later on.Undecided

I would second Katie D's review and would like to add that it captured me so much that it took me just 3 days to read it, and it's a pretty fat book.  It's a good mix of romance and thriller.  And the romance isn't the cheesy stuff you can get in most romance/thrillers.

I disagree. Not only are these books full of plot holes and errors, they also have abysmal morals and weak characters. Bella lets herself be bossed around by Edward because he's "perfect, beautiful, awesome, and SPARKLY," of all things, and what does that tell girls? Especially socially insecure girls? Basically that dating a vampire will solve all of your problems, yippee. Not that there are actually any vampires TO date, which gives girls illusions of reality.

TOTALLY agree, Mary W. And also, what about the part in Twilight when Edward STALKS Bella to her house to watch her sleep? And I'm paranoid about Internet stalkers...

Haha, I know that, Lena. We've had this discussion before. ;)

For those who do not understand, do not feel excluded. You are simply more sane than we are. :)

Edward is a stalker, I know, right? One more ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, ULTRA-HOT thing about him. NOT.
