Quotes Thread!

Quotes Thread!

As you probably already know, quotes deliver a special message. The thing is, a quote is sometimes delivering a message in a different way, and you have to think about what the quote means in order to tell what message it is delivering.

I wanted to start a quotes thread where you can post your favorite quotes from books, movies, poems, songs- or even your own quote that you have made up. The quotes can be funny or meaningful.

My frie

My friend emailed me a link to this interview with Adam
Gidwitz on NPR. At one point during the interview they were accepting calls
from listeners. Most of the people who called in had nothing but praise for his
works. But then this one guy calls in, and he says, “I like to call in and
compliment authors when I feel sympathetic to their message. But with this, I
had the same reaction as I did to hearing the original Grimm stories and to
Quentin Tarantino movies: which is that this is child abuse, to teach them such

HETALIA RP!

HETALIA RP!

OK! This is a Hetalia rp! I am Canada. I don't think I need a description because Hetalia fans all know who Canada is. So! We are at a world meeting and SOMEONE (Prussia hint hint) decides to bring millions of giant pixie stix! Hehe! Wonder how this will go down! My part!

Canada: I walked down the familiar hallway to the conference room. All I hear is commotion. I enter the doorway.

Poem Thread!

Poem Thread!

I figured that I'd start a poem thread where you guys can write your own poems on a certain topic I choose.

You can post any type of poem that you've written on the topic that I've chosen. It can be a haiku, an acrostic poem, a rhyming poem, etc...

You can even write a short song! Songs are poems too.

Poems don't have to rhyme at all. Just be as creative as you want!

Short stories, anybody?

Short stories, anybody?

I personally like short stories because I can't really stay focused long enough to write an entire novel thing but poetry gets boring after a while, and it feels not long enough. So short stories.

I bring this up because in English class our teacher was making us write a short story . . . and explaining how boys tend to be more action-oriented than girls . . . he gave an example: "Boy tend to be more like, 'Zoltron blasted into the room and annihilated the Recordinators!'" (Laughter.)

Inolerable Acts is

Inolerable Acts is a poem I wrote when I was in fifth grade. I showed the poem to someone on Nano (yes, you know her, I'll let you guess who she is) and she recommended posting the poem here. I must warn you, it is a tad long, but read through it. If you want, you can give feedback.
