Quotes Thread!

As you probably already know, quotes deliver a special message. The thing is, a quote is sometimes delivering a message in a different way, and you have to think about what the quote means in order to tell what message it is delivering.

I wanted to start a quotes thread where you can post your favorite quotes from books, movies, poems, songs- or even your own quote that you have made up. The quotes can be funny or meaningful.

Then tell what the quote means to you. And it doesn't have to be right or wrong- everyone has his or her own opinion!

I'll post my favorite quotes on here later. For now, I want to leave it open for your quotes.

If you have some quotes that you would like to share, from books, movies, poems, songs, famous people, or from yourself, please post them on this thread! I can't wait to see what kind of quotes you post on here! Also, tell what the quotes mean to you, if you would like.

Post as many quotes as you would like! The more the better! :)

Here's a quote from my book:

"All the hardest things must be done alone. Or else it isn't an adventure." ~ Sage, Twists of Thread by Corina H

Corina, mental disorders are difficult and they make people feel alone and like no one cares about them and it is just about the farthest from an adventure that I've ever been. I'm sorry. I really don't mean to offend you. I am a very strange and volatile person, okay? (side note: my Southern was showing wasn't it?)

AND NOW THE QUOTES!

My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations.

@ Corina- I like that quote. And you're writing your own book, too? That's pretty cool. Did you make that quote up? Or is it your own version of a famous quote? But either way, the quote's impressive!

Here are some quotes that I would like to share.

"You must realize that fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me, danger is very real, but fear is a choice." -After Earth (movie)

"Wheresover you go, go with all your heart." -Confucius (Chinese philosopher)

"Try to be like a turtle- at ease in your own shell." -Bob Copeland

"The only time you should look back is to see how far you've come." -Unknown

"Reading gives us somewhere to go when we have to stay where we are." -Unknown

Those are my quotes! Hope you liked them- there are still more to come! :)

These are wonderful, Nina,! I especially like the one about fear and the one about reading. Thanks for sharing them with us. And I must admit that Dove Promises are one of my guilty pleasures--and I've unwrapped that same quote!

Some great quotes from today:

Jem Louise Margaret and I are creating a story over email. This conversation also happened over email:

Me: Shouldn't you write chapter 1?

JLM: Why?

Me: Because I already wrote the prologue.

JLM: You did? When?

Me: Yesterday. I sent it to you, remember?

JLM: Oh, I didn't know that was the prologue.

Me: JLM, it said "Prologue" on the top in size 36 Zapfino font. How is it possible to not know that was the prologue?

(Not from the above conversation) Agent Alpacachan: Hi, Ruby-chan-kun-kun-chan-sama-chan-kun-sama-chama-kun-chama-sama-chan-kun-kun-chan-kun!

Those are Japanese suffixes you add to names. You add one. One. Not 17.

'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am"

See Y'all!

This was one of the strangest things that has happened to me this year.

I am reading Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and minding my own business when Ruby suddenly comes in looking like he's just won the Nobel Prize.

Ruby: (euphorically) Red! I've figured out all the answers to my problems!

Me: (curiously) What?

R: (euphorically) I'll become an anarchist!

M: (flatly) What.

R: (dead serious) Come on. Pack your bags. We're off to anarchdom.

M: (incredulously) Why do I have come with you?

R: (still dead serious) Because I'll get bored without someone crazy to talk to. Now, come, come. We're going.

M: (incredulous) Oh, yeah, I'm the crazy one. Where did this even come from?

R: I was thinking about Maggie, and then NIMH, and then it hit me. Thank you very much, Maggie.

M: (being dragged out of my chair) Maggie, you broke Ruby!

R: (dragging forcefully) Now, let's go already!

M: What about dinner?

R: What are you, a hobbit? You'll do without!

M: But my book!

R: I have the whole series in a set, don't worry.

M: (excited) You do? Wait, that's not the point! Where are we even going?

R: (stops) Huh. You know, I have absolutely no idea. Well then. (drifts away) Carry on.

I have no idea what that was about. Maggie, what did you do?
