Pretty self-explanatory, for when you have a question for the Admins.
I was looking through the Ultimate Guide to the CB, and it says people ask the admins questions "frequently related to blue moon ice cream."
What does that mean?

@Admin, if you comment once on a thread which has never been commented on before, and immediately after that you top it, does it go to the back pages? Because my sister did that on a new thread, and now I can't find it anywhere.
The second comment *should* bring it to the front. I'm not sure, but I suspect that the immediate topping might not keep it on the front page if it's stil waiting for the "Top" comment to be approved…check again and see if it's appeared. --admin

@Admin, when did the CB start? Who thought it up?
I believe CB went live in June 2008, if I'm remembering right. Its creation was a collaboration of the editorial, art, production departments as well as other staff. I don't think it's ever been credited to just one person.

@admins is there a list of stuff we can't talk about on the CB? i.e. in other languages, inapropriate topics, etc?
No, there's not a complete list anywhere. Comments must be appropriate for our youngest readers and respectful of all. And comments are evaluated individiually, but we generally avoid very controversial topices such as politics.

Hi Admins, how are you guys? I was just today realizing the imminence of my 5th CBversary (it's in a week!!!) and was wondering how many of you have been around for a long long time, and if any have retired over the years? Or have the newer admins been working at Cricket for a lot longer than they have been admins and the (possible) "retired" admins still work at Cricket, just not as admins?
Well, one of us has been an Admin since the beginning of Chatterbox in 2008. One other has been an Admin for maybe 4 years, but worked at Cricket longer than that, and the newest one has been an Admin for maybe 2 years. No previous Admins have retired. Thye have left Chatterbox to move on to other jobs, either within Cricket Media or for other employers. One left to become a schoolteacher in New York City. Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary!

@Admin: One quick question: Once you subscribe to Cricket, how long does it take to begin receiving the issues? i think i heard somewhere that it was like several months, and I just wondered.
The last I heard from our subscription department it was 6 to 8 weeks. But we can't guarantee the speed of the US Mail.

I know, the mail is shocking these days... *sighs over the degeneracy of the times* Anyway, thanks for telling me!
The whole subscription fulfillment system takes time. The list of addresses to which each issue will be mailed has to be selected quite a few weeks ahead of the mailing date.

@admins, if you send a picture/poem/story into a Cricket competition and it gets a prize, do you recieve a complimentary issue of Cricket?
Winners can get two complimentary copies if they ask for them.

If you get an honorable mention in a Cricket contest, does it count as being a "winner" and can you ask for two complimentary copies? and what address do you write to when you ask for your complimentary copies?
Yes, it counts as being a winner. You can request two comp. copies via Cricket League, PO Box 300, Peru IL 61354 or cricket@cricketmedia.com. Be sure to put Cricket League in the subject line.

How come when you make a thread, it brings you away from the CB?
I don't know what you mean. Threre is a glitch we don't know how to fix that a first reply to a new thread sends the thread to a back page. Then a second reply/comment will bring it back to the front.

Hi Admins! Thanks for everything you do! How are you doing today?
Did you dress up as anything for Halloween?
I'm doing well. Thanks for asking. We had our first snowfall of the season, so I did a bit of shoveling, which I love. The grass is still covered. I didn't dress up this year for Halloween. (I think I was busy raking leaves and ran out of time.) Sometimes I do, though. This year we had a lot of trick-or-treaters, maybe 150, and I loved seeing all their costumes. There were some family groups with parents and children all costumed as a group. It was the first time we've participated in trick-or-treat for a few years, because of Covid. It was a beautiful evening, and eveyone was happy to be out.

Every February for about a week centered around Valentine's Day.
