A new warrior

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

A new warrior

A new warrior clan!!!!!

I have decided to start a new warrior clan, seeing as there is only one current one here for me to join. I would like to be a leader, but, as I haven't read any of the books yet, I am resorting to being a deputy. I am looking for a cat who is fit and healthy, has a good personality, and knows most (if not all) of the prophecies to lead my clan, protect my clan, and teach me how to be a leader. :)   I am also looking for kits, apprentices for medicine cats and warriors, mentors, warriors, medicine cats, elders, and queens. Please join! Our clan is called Midnightclan (if anyone has a better name, please tell me it! This is the best name I could think of for now…). Here is my bio:

Name: Hawkheart

Pelt: Black with a white star on forehead

Eyes: Black

Age: Thirteen moons

Personality: Very calm and smart. A born leader but lets other, wiser cats lead when needed. Is not afraid to admit he's wrong. Organized and courageous. Kind and likes to learn. Very loyal to his clan.

Position: Deputy

Skills: Great warrior and leader. Has amazing senses

Gender: Male

Here is Midnightclan's bio:

Hunting skills: Hunts best at night, can see well in the dark, can sneak quietly anywhere, and (please tell me if this is a good quality or not) can become invisible if needed.

Prey: ???? Any ideas?

Location: The Dark Forest

Please join! All comments (good or bad) appreciated!

This starts just a little while before your post, Thornpelt.

Silverrain—

I walked into the place where the two cats stood.

“Where do you come from and which clan do you belong to?”
Horsethunder, the leader, asked soberly.

“I must disappoint you for I go alone and belong to no clan.”

“Cats always have a clan!” Hawkheart blurted out.

“Quiet! But you must remember the clan you belonged to!”
Horsethunder seemed worried by my last simple answer.

“No, I do not. It is as if I just turned up here on the
earth. I know, somehow, that I have a duty to fulfill. That is my only reason
for being here,” I told them

“And what is your duty?” the black cat inquired.

“To defeat the beast.”

The two looked at each other, passing silent words.

“We have made a decision. We will make you a warrior in our
clan. You know more about this beast than we do.”

“I will join your clan but I must warn you. I will never be
a true part of this tribe. There will always be a part of me that does not
obey.”

Horsethunder soberly thought for a moment and then gave me a
nod.

“Come. We must announce our new warrior, Silverrain.”

We went onto a large rock and I was announced as the new
warrior. The crowd of cats went off and I was given a den to sleep in.

I curled up as sleep started to grasp me. It took me long to
actually close my eyes for a part of myself still yearned for the wilderness.

I listened as Horsethunder and Hawkheart accepted Silverrain into our clan.  I also listened when they said Kits will not leave the clan at all. I shook my head but thought of ways to break that rule without getting in too much trouble.

After the Clan meeting I went to my den all alone and slept for the first time in days. I'm not much of a sleeper, except when I do sleep it's for a while.

I awoke to a busy clan.  Everyone was bringing in brambles and sticks to patch the walls tighter.  I think it was something about a beast in the forest that they were worried about.  I'm not scared of a stupid beast I thought to myself. I'll claw it to pieces if it touches my clan!

All right. This is the same morning Moonkit wakes up to a busy clan.......

Thornpelt:

A rustle in the bushes brought me out of my thoughts. I crouched, preparing to attack whatever enemy jumped out. A blur of bluish grey emerged, and I drew back my paw right before it hit the creature.

"Moonkit!" I exclaimed, "What are you doing? Horsethhunder said not to leave camp! It's not safe out here."

"Then why are you out here?" she remarked petulantly. "If it's so dangerous, shouldn't you be in camp too? You are pretty old." I let a slight growl out of my throat at hearing this, then changed it into a purr. I swung my paw good-naturedly towards Moonkit.

"I'm not that old." I reminded her. "I can still defend myself. You haven't even learned how to fight yet! That's why you should be at home." I nudged her toward camp, watching as she disappeared into the undergrowth, and headed in the direction of camp.

Then I heard something that made my blood run cold. I heard Moonkit scream.

(That's all for now...i wanted to have a cliffhanger ending. i'll post more tonight.)

Silverrain—

I was carrying sticks and reeds in my mouth when I heard a blood curtling scream. As if someone had slapped me, I dropped the sticks and bolted.

The sound came from somebushes not far from the borders of the clan. My heart beat hard against mychest and I wanted to close my eyes and look away from the scene that was in front of me then.

Moonkit’s small body layin a pool of shining red blood. A creature that I still cannot explain in words was brooding over her still body.

I hissed at the creature and it looked at me with cruel yellow eyes. The beast.

I bent back on my hind legs and got ready to spring. I then noticed another cat emerge from the othe rside of the clearing. The medicine cat, Thornpelt, gave me a nod meaning: “Go.”And at the same time we both pounced, hissing and scratching.

The beast didn’t waitfor us to come tumbling down on him. Instead he turned and ran away. I was about to go after him but Thornpelt held me back.

“No.” The medicine cat’s intelligent black eyes gravely stared at me. I lowered my head and turned to the almost dead kit.

Thornpelt studied her. “This is bad,” she said under her breath. I knew it was bad. I helped Thornpelt heave the kit up off the ground and bring her back into the clan, leaving a trail of blood behind us.

All right: here is the follow-up to my first post. This is what happens after Thornpelt hears moonkit scream:

Thornepelt-

I'm so stupid! I hated myself for letting Moonkit go on alone. I ran after her, breaking through the undergrowth and finding myself in the clearing with Moonkit. Moonkit and another cat. A cat with sleek dark brown fur and a torn ear. The tom had Moonkit pinned down with one paw.

"Let go of her!" I hissed at the mysterious cat. Moonkit whimpered from where she was lying, and the tom-cat dug his claws deeper into her fur. Any farther and he would draw blood. Moonkit yowled in pain. I winced at the sound, and pounced on the stranger. He rolled easily out from under me, and landed a small blow to my shoulder. I hissed at him and prepared to try again, but then I realized that when he rolled away from me, he had let Moonkit up!

"Run, Moonkit! Run back to camp and get help!" I yelled to her. She took off like a lightning bolt. The strange cat tried to stop her, but I dug my claws into his back. He turned on me, and that's when I saw his eyes. They were pure white, like snow. He had no sight! And yet he pounced on me as if I was an insignificant mouse, easy to catch. I ran towards camp before he could scratch me too badly. I met Hawkheart and a frightened Moonkit at the entrance to camp.

"What is it?" Hawkheart asked worriedly. I tried to catch my breath.

"We found a cat from MountainClan,"I answered. "And he's blind." Hawkheart's eyes widened.

"Moonkit, go tell Horsethunder to call a gathering," she ordered. The kit did as told. "Are you sure he was blind?" she asked me solemnly. I nodded.

"Just like the prophecy vision I had three moons ago," I reminded her. I recalled the words:

One blind,

And born of stone.

One wise,

And born of night.

One young,

And born of fire,

The last,

Born of light.

Me and Silverrain both came up with different happenings. I don't know about this. :P I don't care who's we use. I just like writing it. :)

@Silverrain: sorry! i didn't realize you had come up with your own ending to that. I wouldn't have done mine differently if i had noticed. oops. :) maybe we could compromise; like we both rush into the clearing, find moonkit pinned down but not too hurt by the beast, then we pounce on it, it lets her go, she runs to camp, we fight it, it runs away, we go back to camp scratched up. Let me know if you want to do something like this and mix the two alternate endings. :) or if you want to keep yours it's also totally fine. I don't really care, as long as I get to write something later. :)

That's a great idea! Let's fo with the alternate endings!

@Silverrain: Do you want to write the mixture of the endings? Or should i? If you don't want to i will. :) Anyway, let me know! :)

Okay, Silverrain. :) I will write the mixture-ending.

@Everybody: Here is the combination of my ending and Elizabeth M's. Ignore the two we wrote, this is what REALLY happened. ;) All right, here it is:

Thornpelt:

I rushed after Moonkit, my heart pounding. I found myself in a large clearing, with Moonkit and the beast for company! On the opposite side of the glade, Silverrain jumped out of the bushes. She must have also heard the kit's scream.

The beast had Moonkit pinned down with one paw, and had scratched at her pretty badly already. It snarled at me and Silverrain. I looked at the other she-cat for help, and she motioned at the beast, then in the direction of the river, which was clearly audible from here. I nodded my understanding. She wanted to drive the creature towards the water! We moved closer to the animal, but it only growled at us. Silverrain hissed at it and prepared to pounce. I did the same. We lunged at the brutish animal, and in its hurry to move away it let go of Moonkit.

She breathed in deeply, her flank bleeding where the beast's claw had cut her. I ran and dragged her out of harm's way, into the bushes. The blood formed a small stream in our wake. Silverrain pounced on the beast again, and this time made contact. Her claws dug into its back, and she bit its neck. The creature howled, a horrible sound that caused me to shudder. Silverrain leaned to the left, driving the creature to the side of the river. I ran to them, but too late. The beast had gone over the edge of the small cliff. With Silverrain on its back.

I saw the beast come up for air, but it was too heavy, and started to sink. It floated away, its head barely above the waterline. I searched frantically for Silverrain, but saw no sign of her. Then I heard a voice directly below me:

"Mind helping me up?"

I looked down to find Silverrain hanging from an small ledge protruding from the rock face. I helped her up, then we went back to where I had left Moonkit. We started to drag the injured young cat back to camp.

I am bored and currently have nothing to do, so I decided to write a little more. This is once Silverrain and Thornpelt have dragged Moonkit back to camp, and they have just entered camp boundaries.

Thornpelt:

A crowd of cats gathered around us as we trudged wearily into camp. Starpaw was among them, and she helped us get Moonkit into the den I shared with her. Silverrain let Starpaw bandage her wounds while I tried to stop the bleeding from the large cut on Moonkit's side. Then Silverrain left to tell Horsethunder and Hawkheart what had happened. Moonkit's breathing was steady, and the flow of blood had stopped for the most part. She moaned in pain, and Starpaw and I both got up to comfort her. Just then, Silverrain came back into the den, the leader and deputy of the clan both behind her. Horsethunder looked at Moonkit sadly, then turned to Silverrain, who was standing next to me.

"Tell me everything." our leader told us. So we did.

Pleeease let me join?  |Pretty good fighter, patient [like Atalanta!] and also a fair hunter; has recieved some medicine cat training but has no talent for it.  Was a part of Flameclan, and was separated from it as it moved north to different grounds.  Likes: tall grass, strong winds, rabbits.  Dislikes: rain, untidy dirt places, thorns.|

A shrill yowl, as one of pain, streaked through the forest.  I ran towards the sound.  Could it be Flameclan?

As I neared the place it had come from, a huge dog hurtled past me, with a look of terror in his eyes.  I thought I had smelled dog!  There was no Twoloeg scent on him, either.  He was completely wild.

I reached the place where someone had screamed.  A tiny  kit lay on the ground, with blood pouring out of her.  Two cats tussled.  One ran away, other cats picked up the kit and carried it off.  I followed at a safe distance.  There was a small camp.  I walked into the clearing behind them and sat down, calmly licking my paws.  There was a lot of fuss over the kit.  The medicine cat tended to her and she was put in a nest in the medicine den.  Then I was noticed.

"Who are you?" yowled a large tom.

"I am Leopardpaw," I said.  "I was separated from my clan and would like to join yours."

"I doubt that," said the tom, circling me warily.  "What clan?"

"Flameclan."

"Why were you separated?"

"We were moving to different grounds because our lands were being covered with Thunderpaths.  There was a thunderstorm and we ran to hide in different places.  I haven't seen them since."

"How old are you?"

"Eight moons."

"Come and see the leader."

Thanks, Elizabeth M! :)

Thornpelt-

Moonkit had been unconscious for three nights now, and Starpaw and I were both starting to worry. Another new cat had come into the clan, claiming to be from FlameClan. Horsethunder and Hawkheart had not yet accepted Leopardpaw into the clan. But then again, they hadn't thrown the young cat out, either. I had a feeling there would be another gathering soon. Moonkit stirred slightly, and I went to make sure her fever wasn't too high. She felt warm, but not as warm as she had that morning. That was a good sign. I woke Starpaw, who had been sleeping in the back of the den. I told her to look after Moonkit while I was gone, then left the den. She slipped out after me.

"Where are you going?" she asked me.

"To speak with the elders. They may know of past dealings with the beast," I told her. I went over to the elders' den, slipping in silently. The moon's light gave way to the shadowy inside of the dwelling. I searched for Sunclaw, the old tom who I had once been apprenticed to before I was chosen to become medicine cat. He looked up at my approach.

"You want to know if I have heard of this beast before?" he asked after I had explained to him why I had come. I nodded. "Well," he continued, "MountainClan once claimed to have been attacked by a creature such as this one, but I had never believed them. No one did. Maybe we should have listened." He sighed mournfully.

"Maybe they could help us," I thought aloud. Sunclaw sighed again, shaking his head.

"They are too high in the mountains. After the fires hit the lower parts of the mountain range when I was an apprentice, they moved higher and higher into the hills. No cat could survive in that altitude and cold, unless they had gotten used to it many seasons ago, as MountainClan did," Sunclaw told me. "No one from our clan would be able to find them before freezing to death." Now it was my turn to sigh.

"Goodbye, Sunclaw. I'll come see you again soon," I said. He just nodded and lowered his head to his paws, as if to sleep. I left the elders' den and returned to my own. Wearily, I decided to rest a bit. I couldn't get much sleep with all the excitment, and Moonkit to take care of, but I decided to try and get a little. That was a mistake.

The night is cold, and snow falls. Red stains the snow coated ground around me. I hate to think whose blood it might be, but I know it isn't mine. I am not injured. The trail of blood goes under the bushes. I follow it, and see a young tom under the bushes. His light brown body is still. His breath is shallow. I go to him, and as I nudge his paw to see if he responds, a shadow falls over the snow, turning it a dismal grey. I turn, knowing who I will see there. Not the beast, but a cat. A fiery colored she-cat, her pelt no different from mine. She is a cat who I fear more than the beast. She is the one who set that creature on us in the first place. She is also the only enemy I will not fight, for she shares my blood.

"Hello, sister. Haven't seen you in a while."

I woke up scared, my heart pounding rapidly, my mouth dry. The dream encounter was a vision from StarClan. It was a vision I dreaded the meaning of.
