Has anyone seen Star Trek The Next Generation? I LOVE it!!! my mom is a Trekie and bought all the seasons, and I've been watching them nonstop every spare minute I have! My favorite characters are Lt. Commander Data, Commander First Officer William Riker, Counselor Deanna Troi, and, of course, Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Well, to be frank, I love everyone! What is your favorite species? I think my favorite is... I don't know, I'm fine with everyone, except the Borg.
Space, the unexplored, these are the adventures of the starship Enterprise, our mission? To explore new worlds. -Captain Picard

I think I watch the same one. I don't watch it everyday but when I see it, it's good!! I don't know what my favorite species is but here are my favorite characters: Data, the blind guy, the lady who can feel peoples feelings(she has puffy hair... LoL) and the brown haired guy is also pretty cool( i think that's Riker). Anyway, have you seen the movie?? I loved it!! Really well done!!

Dear Elizabeth M.
Yes! That's it! Data is an android, and one of my most favorite characters. The 'blind guy' is Lt. Geordi LeForge, chief engineer. The 'lady who can feel people's feelings, is Counselor Deanna Troi, a wonderful lady, very sweet. Riker, yes, he's the brown-haired guy. He is awesome!!!
I have only seen the movie - Generations, beside movies 1-6. It is the first movie with the Next Generation's crew, and Captain Kirk. It is a really good movie.
I hope to hear from you again Elizabeth!

I think the movie I saw came out in late 2009 or early 2010... It was good. I saw some episode where Data is being controlled by some guy named Ira... Data cracks me up(I don't know why) He's hilarious in his own way! Geordi is the guy from reading rainbow. Wow you know a lot!!

Dear Elizabeth,
Yes, you are talking about the new Star Trek movie. I haven't seen it yet, but it was suposed to be good.
The episode you are referring to is The Schizoid Man, season two episode six.
I am pretty sure that the reason Data cracks you up is because Bret Spiner, the actor who plays Data is a comedian. He is a naturally funny man, also, because Data is "Uncapable of any feeling" anything he does that is attempting to be more human, is funny, because he is unable to do it the proper way. For example, when he tries to sneeze, season one - "DataLore" He goes - a, a, choo. exactly like I spelled, he just makes the sounds. It is very humorous, but also rather sad, if you consider that Data is unable to get any jokes that Geordi, Riker, or even Captain Picard make, so when the rest of the crew is laughing, he's just sitting there with a slightly confused expression on his face, but that is why I think you find him funny. There are a few episodes such as "The Ourageous Okana" in season two in which Data attempts to tell jokes; the jokes, of course, are all very unfunny, but the way he tells them, imitating a computer program of a comedian from the 20th century, makes it hilarious:)
Thank you for your lovely compliment, I do enjoy Star Trek, so I like talking about it. I really enjoy talking with you, Elizabeth!

I'm glad you like talking to me!!
Do you know how the docter's kid got onto enterprise? He's the youngust there. Oh, I saw one Riker is at the Cling On ship. That was funny. I think the cling ons are slightly weird but that just me. What about you?
(February 13, 2011 - 1:23 am)
Dear Elizabeth,
Yes, I do know, and I was very happy for Welsey, Dr. Crusher's kid. He is so smart! Just so you know, 'cling on' is actually spelled Klingon, it's a common mistake:)
Yes, I have yet to see the episode, but I am avidly looking forward to it. The Klingons are a different race, and so, you might not be so comfortable with them, after a while, you get used to them:) Especially Worf, he is the Lt. on the Enterprise, he is a Klingon, but is more loyal to the Federation (United Federation of Planets) than his own race.
The Klingons are a warring race, very violent, everything they do is based on war and violence, so I can understand how you think that they are slightly weird.
Worf is an extreemly lovable character, extreemly loyal and honest, he does have his moments, though. In his own words, "I am not easy to get along with." Yes, he actually does say that.
(February 13, 2011 - 9:08 pm)
Oops, sorry. Klingon. I'll remember that. I like Worf. He is truly different than any of his species. They smile kind of weirdly... Anyway, which races are there in Star Trek? And are you new here or am is it just that I'm new and don't know you? :)
(February 14, 2011 - 5:28 am)
Dear Elizabeth,
Don't worry about mispelling Klingon:) Which races, hm, there are many many races, the most famous are - Klingon, Romulin, Borg, and Vulcan. Do you know about these or do you want me to give you some info about some of them?
I am new here, but I've been getting Cricket for years, I just decided to try out their website. Question for you, do you really live in Germany? If you do, that is so cool! What is it like there?
My favorite Star trek Character is Captain Jean-Luc Picard. He is absolutely brilliant! My second favorite character is Lt. Commander Data. He's just so lovable!
(February 14, 2011 - 4:44 pm)
I don't actually know what the species are though Borg sounds familiar... :) So, if you want I'd be happy with a little info! Well, WELCOME TO CHATTERBOX! I hope you're having fun here! :D
Yes, I really live in Germany. I think the climate may be a little colder than some places in the US of A. But that's because of the mountain climate. Where I am it's pretty nice and quiet. A great neighborhood. I think all of Germany is probably really beautiful. If you take a walk/drive/bike ride etc on a clear day you can get an amazing view of the mountains. It's really pretty.
Anyway, my first favorite character is Commander Data! I don't know why but I don't think I'm a huge Picard fan. *Shields self from flying tomatoes* Who is your least favorite character? (If you can even have one)
(February 15, 2011 - 6:58 am)
Dear Elizabeth,
I would never throw tomatoes at you:) No offence taken, not everyone likes Picard, but Data is wonderful.
Germany sounds like a beautiful place. I hope I get to visit there one day. Thank you for telling me about it.
All right, about the species, well, most of them are hostile, so, humanity is the best one:) Of course!
Borg - A mixture of human or alien, and machine. They have the ability to connect minds with each other and do amazing and horrible things. When they take over something, they don't conquer it, they consume it. Landing on a planet, they can change and transform the entire population into Borg. These Borgs have extrordinary power, learning from their mistakes, and being able to repair any damage to their ship by mind connection and brain power.
Vulcan - An extrordinarily smart species, who can remember vast knowledge. They strive to be logical, to the point of being ridiculous. (I didn't say that!:) They have green blood and pointed ears. They, most of them, consider themselves to be superior to humans. As do most of the species.
Romulin - Once Vulcans, they turned on the logic 'thing.' They are a smaller people, living in The Neutral Zone. They are so proud and stuck up, they killed Worf's family. He says that "They are a waste of skin." I have nothing to say about that except that he is a Klingon and Klingons are vicious.
Klingon - well, you pretty much know all you need to know about them, there's not much. They are a vicious violent race, who kill and are excellent warriors. They are also dangerous, because their ships have cloaking devices.
Sorry if this was too much info. There are hundreds of other races, but these are the main races. Have you ever heard of a person, if you can call him a person, named Q?
I think my least favorite Star Trek character, and this is a very difficult question, this is also just in Next Generation, I think is... I don't think I have one, now that I think about it, there is something wonderful in all of the Star Trek TNG characters, that help you to love them. I used to not like Worf anymore, but he grows on you, now he is awesome! Who is your least favorite character? Don't worry, I won't be offended by anything that you say:)
(February 15, 2011 - 9:29 pm)
*Wipes brow* Few no tomatoes!! XD! That wasn't to much info. Thanks a lot. Is it the Vulcan or Romulins who have the high eyebrows? Cause I must've seen one of the 2 yesterday(On TV not in real life) I think my least favorite character(I don't know a lot of them) is Worf. That doesn't mean I don't like him it's just he isn't as... (I don't know) as the other charaters. Anyway, who in the world is Q? Is it a robot? I'm learning more about Star Trek wirh every post! :)
(February 16, 2011 - 7:40 am)
Dear Elizabeth,
Whoops, I misspelled Romulan, sorry, my fault:) They both have pointed eyebrows, because they are essentially the same species, but diffrent cultures. I didn't explain that very well, sorry. They live on their two main homeworlds, Romulus and Remus, named after the founders of Rome.
Q is a being. He is a quite fantastical being, so fantastic that he can do anything he wants to. He plagues the crew of the Enterprise on several occations throughout the show. He 'tests' humans by throwing the Bridge crew into rediculous and impossible senarios, all invented by himself. He is incredibly theatrical, wearing clothes ranging from an Admiral's uniform to a French General (from the 1700's I think!) He is also the person who introduces humanity to the Borg. Not good.
I understand what you mean about Worf, he has to grow on you. Just his presance used to disturb me, but after a while, you understand more about him, and how diffrent he is from the rest of his species, and his personality, his fears, and he becomes more... human.
The thing about Klingons, they are not liked at all. In one of the earlier movies, movie three I think it is, with the original Star Trek cast, Captain Kirk, that's the original captain, jerk, his son is killed by Klingons. That leads to some interesting battle scenes later:)
In movie six, however, Kirk assists the Klingons to move to another planet because theirs is about to be destroyed or something, and after that, during The Next generation, anyway, they don't really bother the Federation that much.

So, Romulans are less peaceful than Vulcans or the other way around? This Q person/thing sounds interesting. Is he a machine??
I like Worf. It's just that from all my favorite characters he's not on the top... Actually I don't know many of the Characters except Deanna, Captain Picard, Riker, Data, Geordi and the Doctor.... Oh and the doctors son...
1) Data
2 ) Riker
3) Deana
4) Picard
5) Geordi
6) Worf
That's my list! So what's your list like?
(February 18, 2011 - 10:47 am)
Dear Elizabeth,
Yes, you are correct, the Romulans are less peaceful than the Vulcans, also more prideful.
Q is more of a person than a thing. A rare kind of omnepotient spiecies with undescribable and unfathomable powers.
I understand about Worf. I like your list! My list looks like this -
1) Cpt. Picard (I always call him captain:)
2)Data
3)Riker
4)Deanna
5)Dr. Crusher (I call her Beverly, but she insists that other people call her Dr.) (*smilie face*)
6) Geordi, Worf, and Wesley. not neccisarily in that order.
Oh! and Guinan! You can't forget Guinan. She is the bar tender:) she's hundreds of years old. It think she's up there with Beverly and Deanna.
