Star Wars thread!!

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Star Wars thread!!

Star Wars thread!! particularly the animated series (Clone Wars, Bad Batch, Rebels, etc.) but you can talk about the movies too :)

to start, I'll give the ultimate question: opinions on episodes 7, 8, 9. unpopular opinion but I personally think they're... eugh. idk. I don't hate people for liking them, but to me they just have a very weak plot and the characters hardly have any development. but I'm open to hear others' views on them.

oh, and also, WOOT WOOT, where are my Bad Batch fans?? I finished it a few weeks ago and I loved it so much that I started it AGAIN. I'm already in season 3 D: my dad asked me what I'm going to do when I finish it again and I said, "...cry. then start it again :)". shh who says I'm obsessed?

ANYWAYS, enough about me, let the nerding commence.

Yes! Crosshair's story arc is pretty darn good. When the series first started I didn't like him at all. But toward the end of s2and into s3 with the interactions between him and Omega and the Batch ,I learned to like him. Also was anyone else hoping that Tech would have a winter soldier arc? I believe if they brought back Echo and Boba Fett, they can bring back Tech. Am I delusional? Yes. But who cares? ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯  (And I hope what I said wasn't to spoiling.)

(SPOILERS for anyone not past season 2 yet 0_0)

so... I have a theory about Tech. wanna hear it? you're gonna.

SO. lots of folks are like "omg Clone X must be Tech!!!" but I don't personally think that... they didn't have that reveal in the finale, but it could've been a very feasibly theory if that wasn't the case.

but my personal theory is that he didn't die instantaneously upon his fall.

hear me out:

Hemlock found his goggles. and you'd think that'd be because he was looking in that area for the rest of the Batch, but wait a sec-- Tech didn't fall near that area, he was kind of far away. that means that Hemlock was looking for him, implying that Tech was of great value to his research.

so, as we know, Hemlock had the full funding of the Empire at his disposal. he could buy anything he wanted, and we could elaborate on that, but for now, let's see this: he could easily have extremely advanced medical technology.

Hemlock was looking for Tech, meaning he was valuable to him. that's the first piece in our little puzzle we have here.

our second piece is small, but it's this: the fall that Tech experienced was of a similar height to one in an earlier episode. Hunter fell from that height, and guess what--he survived. you might say "but he had trees to break his fall", but we obviously saw that there were trees on Eriadu, so that's not a valid argument. so all this to say that Tech could have survived the fall, although with some major injury, of course.

now let's put these two pieces together--we have a believable story. Hemlock was looking for Tech. he found him and took him to Tantiss while preserving his life, if not temporarily.

but why would he want Tech? in comes the third piece.

we all saw it in the finale--that trooper of Hemlock's that had an awfully Tech-like helmet.

now, I'm definitely not saying that that trooper could have been Tech--it was never revealed as such--but it could have easily been a normal clone, with some Tech-DNA mixed in there. Tech had, as far as we know, a vision impediment, which probably copied over in the genetics, requiring that special clone to have goggles like his.

so now, here's my full story: Hemlock went looking for Tech, wanting his extraordinary intelligence. he found him. preserved his life until they got back to Tantiss. copied his genetic code, and pasted it onto one of his special troopers.

but what did he do with Tech?

my first most simple idea is that he simply disposed of him.

but what if he did keep Tech alive? obviously he wouldn't be able to use him as a special trooper due to his permanent injuries, but what if he simply turned him into one of his brainwashed clones?

in comes something interesting. in season 3, when we see Clone X's heat signature, something funny is going on with his legs... like they're prosthetics, almost.

I won't jump to any conclusions, but I just think that's interesting.

well, sorry for the rant and looooooooong post, but I hope you found this interesting :3

EXACTLY! I honestly hope he's going to show up in live action and we'll all be like "OMG!!! I KNEW IT!!!" And then scream for the next 5 hours.

Loving The Acolyte so far! It's a really interesting mystery. I also have no desire to spoil anything for those who haven't watched it, though, so I won't say much else :D

Hi! This thread was dying like Tech, so I'm going to ressurect it like Tech! :)

 Warning Spoilers ahead.

1. Like Ellesmere said Tech fell from a similar hight as Hunter did in a earler episode, BUT the rest of the batch did the same thing on the same episode.(of course they were IN the rail car and came out with sustainable injuries, but very similar.)

2. Tech is smart, obviously. So what's to say he didn't get in the rail car as it was falling? What's to say he didn't get away from the rail car ,without his goggles, before the Empire came searching for him? What's to say Hemlock lied about finding Tech? OR maybe he lied about Tech's death altogether?

3. Also if Tech is alive something is preventing him from going home and seeing the batch. Perhaps he is being used as a imperial test subject. Maybe he's frozen in carbonite or stranded on a planet. Or MAYBE there was a SARLACC PIT at the bottom of the chasm and he is being slowly DIGESTED but will come back, Boba Fett style. (Idk I'm delusional. lol.) ( ̄ω ̄;)

4. As Star Wars has shown us not every death has to be the end of a character. Characters have come back even though they died years ago. Examples include Boba Fett, Echo, and Emperor Palpatine. So they could do the same thing with Tech.( ¬‿¬)

So yeah that is my rant about Tech. I might have something more interesting and creative to say later. Also my siblings and I have made it to s3 of Clone Wars. Does anyone remember clone 99? He was the best. (ಥ﹏ಥ)

yesss thank you so much for resurrecting this!!

aaa 99 ;-; there's actually a strongly canon-supported theory out there that Clone Force 99 named themselves after him. and there's another one that 99 was CT-9900 and was intended to be the commander of the Bad Batch (Hunter is CT-9901 for reference), but he was a little too defective to be really useful so they cast him off and made Hunter the commander instead.

all of your reasons are also really believable. be delusional my friend! delulu is the solulu!

Whoa! That is great! I have heard that plan 99 was named after clone 99 and that clone force 99 could be named after him but all that other stuff makes everything so canon! Also can you imagine what horrible things Hemlock could have done if he survived, and the Empire's funds went to his experiments instead of the Death Star? I mean the Rebels might have had to fire torpedos at Hemlock's base on Eriadu or something. Crazy right?
