Exquisite Corpse: Poetry

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Exquisite Corpse: Poetry

Exquisite Corpse: Poetry Edition

Welcome one and all budding poets! For those of you who don't know what an exquisite corpse is, it's basically a Round Robin :) Anyways, I thought it'd be cool to start one of these here after seeing it on the Slam; the rules are pretty simple:

1) Each person posts one line of a poem (and one line only!). At the end, I'll put all of the lines together and post it here.

2) Please wait for the person before you's post to show up; it makes things a lot less confusing

3) Round robins generally last (almost) forever, but I think that it'd be nice to cut a poem off at some point, so this 'round' will run from December 1- 31.

4) Have fun!

Whomever posts first can start the poem :)

I love this game! Have fun :)

yours,

the way it thawed me, kept me alive but now

I'm frozen solid -- am I dead again?

Or simply not

breathing?

AGH sorry for it being so long XD

I lay back my head

leave it hanging off my neck

as I watch white spirals in the wind

a wistful smile spreads across my face

if I close my eyes

I can almost see your smile

the one that was for me

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry, if you don't want to accept my -cough- line -cough- that's fine. I naturally make stuff longer than it should be.
Or so I
thought, but then again you
took all the thoughts in my head and
rearranged them, so I really
can't be sure of
anything anymore
I almost can't decide
whether it was just a dream
or something so bluntly real
yet so wonderful
that it was
something out of
a story book
entered into my life
We were only
snowflakes
in the wind
(Sorry about that, Sept. But this counts as one line, right? I would have written it straight, but I liked the line breaks. Is that okay? If not, I won't do it anymore. I'm really sorry I didn't follow the rule.)
No, I get it if you write one line and then break it up. I'm just reiterating because there are a couple of people who are writing entire verses. Thanks for checking though, Leeli!
In which September hopes you actually read her directions. . .
Hi y'all! I'm glad you're having fun with this, and I do know it's easy to get carried away with poetry, but I do feel the need to remind you that you are supposed to post one line and ONE LINE ONLY. I really appreciate that y'all are super enthusiastic about this, but please do keep in mind that the point of an exquisite corpse is to piece it together piece by piece; line by line. While I will not cut your line (s) from the final, I would really really really like for y'all to heed the one line rule. Thank you!
