Six Word Stories!

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Six Word Stories!

Six Word Stories!

~~~
Hemingway once came up with a challenge to tell a story in six words. I think it's a great creativity exercise, so let's see what you come up with!
His example is, "For sale: Baby shoes, never worn."
Read it again.
Doesn't it give you chills?
We did these in my class! A bunch of people did stuff like 'Please tell me it's recess.' I did this:
Time to go polish the stars.
And there was this one kid that was like: "That's stupid. What does it mean?" and I really wanted to scream at him that it was about my life. But I just shrugged.
*sigh*
Why do classmates have to ruin everything fun?
Oh, I love these! Here are some:
I keep looking out of windows.
The day dies young, you know.
Look up: the sky is infinite.
These are depressing, but:
They married. He cheated. She cried.
Young Harry never knew his parents.
And on a lighter note:
Assigned Monday, due Friday, done Thursday night.
"I promise." She trusted. Broken. Repeat.
"One more page," said the bookworm.
I'll post more tomorrow!
Ooh! I like these!
Loss, struggle, sucess: Wash, rinse, repeat.
Sharing is caring; some don't care.
Fantasy is just reality with imagination.
Why are monkeys in this sandwich?
Earth is blue, why aren't we?
A snake bites; the antidote after.
I do like cheese a lot.
If I'm weird, what is normal?
The boat sails, but I row.
I will post some more soon!
Hehe.
I love writing these!!
A few of these go to seven...
"She turned seventeen, the day he died."
"She never saw her death come."
"Fairytales aren't all lies, but dreams."
"'No matter what.' Were his words."
"Luck always seemed against them these days."
"She created worlds with her hands."
"The wolve left, to die in peace."
Falling down a dark bottomless well.
The stupid landline phone doesn't work.
Those are my two. And really, our phone doesn't work at all.
Wow, Mei, I just created the exact same thread yesterday without seeing yours, I'm sorry! I guess people can post on both then, if they wish. I just didn't expect to see this thread elsewhere, so my bad.
What a coincidence! Although yours is three words and mine is six.
They dated. She kissed someone else.
Guess what happens next? XD
The Chatterbox is totally awesome.
(Sad one) The last memory faded to dust.
Her train of thought derailed quickely.
(Magician one) Please pick a card, any card.
The spark that ignited the flame.
They dance, with much foot-crushing.
(Undertale Reference) Not simply 'kill or be killed'.
These are fun!
These are so much fun think up! But it's much harder than I thought it would be. Anyway these are my two: "Hand in hand they followed destiny" and "sobbing, she ran, never looking back."
Okay. So, I tried, but since I am a longwinded and rambly person, I kind of wrote a... saga? Each line has 6 words though so I hope it's kind of okay. :P
~~~

A tower stands and never falls.

Built stone by stone by stone.

She can't see past the blindfold.

Her bound wrists, chafed by rope.

She knows. She isn't a monster.

She just wants to fly. (Please!)

They say it anyway. Again, again.

Try to rip her wings off.

They won't go, everything burns.

Tug, pull, harsh words, hard tongues.

Her skin writhes. Flame, fire, pain.

She can't move. Stone, stone, stone.

Her mouth tastes of blood. Cement.

It hurts. She sobs wet tears.

They laugh. They leave. Finally, silence.

Her skull pounds a sharp drumbeat.

Meanwhile, another world outside the minaret.

Green hills spread like a quilt.

They go on. Fade into sky.

A girl flies on gold wings.

Nobody calls her "demon", nobody attacks.

Lips taste of honey, of freedom.

The wind rushes through her hair.

Gold locks swirl in the breeze.

She sings something. Doesn't know what.

The words feel sweet on her tongue.
