Poetry Contest
Well, we haven't had one of these in a while, have we? Time for a new one, I say! Welcome, resident poets!
The rules are pretty simple. I am the first judge. I will give you a theme, and you must write a poem relating to the theme. Be creative with your interpretations! I will then judge the entries by a set date, and the winner will then be the next judge, and set the next theme. And so on, and so forth.
The first theme will be... *dramatic drumroll*
Stars! Whether you chose to write about the kind of stars you wish on, or the kind that take the stage, I will be eagerly awaiting your sparkly, shiny, beautiful poems. Have them in by... Saturday, March 18. Two weeks. Sound fair?
I hope to see your poems soon!

Yes that's right, she's visiting her Grandma in New York. So yeah, let's wait for her to get back before the next round.

Owlgirl here. I really want to participate in the next round....when does it start? Who will give the prompt and judging? Thanks.

September here. I'm not really in charge, but Leafpool and I tied for the last contest, so since I've already judged, she'll give the prompt and judging. Unfortunately, Leafpool's on a trip right now (you may have seen her I'm Leaving thread) so we're waiting for her to get back. So just sit tight, and there's a regular poetry thread if you want to write anything!

Good job Treble Clef, September, and Leafpool!
Since we're waiting a bit for Leafpool to get back, let's keep this thread topped!

Omigosh SERIOUSLY???
Thanks so much, Epic Fangirl!
Alright, the theme for this round is Beauty. Whether it's beauty in a person or beauty in nature, make sure your poems include it! The judging date is Friday, July 7th.

Yay, a new topic!!
(June 22, 2017 - 2:33 pm)
Wait am I allowed to join or is it just people who have been doing it since this thread started?
(June 23, 2017 - 1:42 am)
@Lucy B., you can join at any time. I myself joined for the second round.
Here is my poem (I have a habit of writing it on the spot and hoping it turns out alright).
I am blind
They say I do not know how beautiful I am
They say I do not know how ugly my friends are
I know all I need to know
My friends are kind, that is what I care about
To me, they are beautiful
I cannot be tricked by false looks
I cannot be tricked by disguises
I know people as they truly are

I hope you like it!

Is a reference to self-harm not appropriate for the Chatterbox? I have a mention of it in my poem, but it doesn't have details or anything.
Likely not appropriate, though I'd have to see the poem to make a decision.

Travels
This road will take us
Away from
The ugliness of the world
But remember the
Small beauties
That dotted the
Dark twisted realms
Of yesterday.

Beauty
Her name is Blake
One of my best friends
She is free
To tell her wishes
Though people
May despise her
She wasn't so
For most her life
He was her name
I admire that
She doesn't care
What people think she is
I admire
That she knows
That what only she thinks
Is right.
A lot of people
Say she's a
Him.
But she doesn't.
