ART POSTING
(Subject not going through....Third time's the charm...??)
Art stuff thread starting...NOW! If you draw stuff, you can post it here! I draw in a sort of anime/manga/toon style, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from posting your stuff! I would love to see other people's art so post away! They can be OCs, fan art, or just random stuff. You can use any media, including digital, like I do! Just to let you chatterboxers know, I started this thread so we can share our tricks of the trade with each other. Feel free to: ask questions about how to draw certain things, post techniques, share art, and mostly HAVE FUN! If you draw your OCs, feel free to share information about them such as their names and that sort of thing. Same goes for fan art since not all of us know where these characters are from. You don't have to be polished with your art. I myself am just a beginner at anime/manga/toon. I'm not good at hands so if any of my hands looks particularly cruddy, you know why. I also struggle sometimes with feet so same goes for that. If any of you know how to draw a particularly good hand or foot, feel free to share your trick for it.
Going to post a picture of my OC, Tuxedo, if this post goes through okay.

I kinda only draw animals. I can do a decent tree, and stick figures, but animals are where I excel. This is partly from a book, but mostly imagination.

That's amazing!! I'm so jealous that you can draw such a good horse... mine is AWFUL.

I was going through my old sketchbook yesterday and found this little thing. Kinda simple, but I really like it for some reason. I sketched it from a picture I took at Yosemite National Park. I swear, those ravens are always posing for the camera!

I'm taking an online at class this summer, and this is the project for this week.
I don't like it that much, but it's not awful. I'll post the one for last week later; I like it a lot better.

Aand... Here's the other one!

*kicks down door* I'M BACK!
@Sybill That's really cool! I like how the eyes are simple but have so much personality, and I also really love the hair. Nice job!
@DoodleGirl Ooh, those are both amazing! I really like your painting, and how you put your own spin on the post-impressionism style. I also really love the photo, and like Aqua mentioned, it actually looks pretty cool upside down!
@HeroesOfOlympus Oh, I like that style of eyes! I think it fits your style really well.
@Aqua First of all, thanks for the tip! I had noticed something was off, but I hadn't been able to figure out what. I'm very bad at drawing people the same size as each other XD Second of all, I really love both of the sketches you posted! The eyes on the first one are so cool, they remind me of retro anime and I love them! The house-person is also pretty cool, it's just such a creative idea and I love how you did it! Hmmm, for tips... Well, if you want tips on drawing bodies, I would recommend breaking it down into simple shapes first. You might have seen me mentioning this in other places, but I'm saying it again because it really helps create accurate anatomy, at least for me.
@Alex Those are all really awesome! I really love the Perry concept sheet, not only because Perry is adorable, but also because you actually took the time to figure out his different facial expressions, which is very useful if you're planning on making an animation or a graphic novel. And all of your OC drawings are so cool! Is Gilda the one I drew on the Ultimate Picturings Thread, or is this a different Gilda? And the Animal Crossing art is also really cool, I really love the red button nose on the blue-haired girl! Keep drawing!
@SeaWolfWhite SQUEE Those are both so cute!! I love the fox (is that HM?) in the donut, and the li'l wolf boy is ADORABLE AAAAAH *ahem* I really love the colors on both, the clean aesthetic on the first, and the eyes on the second. For naming suggestions, you might think about the wolf people's culture, and the aesthetic you're going for with his world.
@DoodleGirl Wow, that's awesome! I love the pose and the outfit and the hair and the expression and the background and aaaah you're so good! Awesome job!
@SparkleMoon I really like that! I especially like the way you can clearly see the distance between the characters, and the foreground character is so cute!
@Jaybells DUDE THAT'S SO GOOD!! The hair and crown are so amazing, and the DRESS! AAH! HOW do you draw fabric folds so well?! I've never been good at that kind of thing... of course, maybe that's because I have no patience XD Anyway, you're amazing at art, and I love seeing your work on CB!
@SandCat WOW! That is amazing! All the characters are so incredibly cute, and I love the sort of relaxed painted coloring style you use! You could easily be a professional artist, you're that good. I was wondering, if you ever have the time, would you ever be interested in posting the steps of your digital art process? I've seen other people do it here before, and I'm really curious how you make your art so good. You don't have to, but it would be really cool! You're so good at art!
@MoonKitten WOW. That is impressive. I've never been able to draw even a mediocre horse, but you totally nailed it. Like, the proportions are spot-on, and the eyes are stylized but also look perfect, and aaaah that's so cool! Good work!
@Luminescense That's nice! I really like the eyes and the hair. The lips might be a little big/out of proportion, but the rest is great. I love seeing your art!
@Indigo Feather Ohhh I love it! I really like how you used a very simple aesthetic but you managed to convey so much with it. I love how the dandelion puffs add to the composition without distracting from the raven, as well. I also really like ravens, so. Nice job!
@Starchaser Those are both so cool! I especially love the second one (the graffiti-style lettering). The colors and the style are amazing on that. The first one is cool as well! If you're looking for tips, I might recommend drawing the head before the hat-- the head looks a little flat, and the hat is smaller than the head. You might also outline the eyes with marker like you outlined the rest of the drawing, just to call attention to them since they show most of the face's emotion. It's really cool, though! Keep up the good work!
So much cool art has been posted since I was last on this thread, so sorry if I missed anyone! I love checking out this thread, it's really fun and I love seeing y'all's art.
I'm not sure if I've posted this before, sorry if I have. It's a redraw of my KotOr (a Star Wars game that I used to be mildly obsessed with) OC, Liata. The first one is from 2018-ish, I think? It might even be from 2017. Anyway, there are still some things I'd change about the redraw, but I certainly think I've improved XD

Poor door...
Eeep, thank you! Yes, Glida is the one you drew XD (Since all my OC's are penguins I like seeing how they would look as humans. [Since everytime I tried to draw them as humans it failed])
Redraws are so cool! (I was going to say I would have to dig though my notebooks to find something to redraw but I just thought of something XD)
(And I agree, Perry is adorable. XD)

@AW, Thank you! They're actually soft pine branches, not dandelions. I wanted to post the original photo to compare, but it was too far down in my camera to easily retrieve. I was able to get one of the other angles though. The one attached isn't the one I drew it from. It's the same place, just from a different spot. I hope it doesn't turn out upside down.

@AgentWinter: Thanks, I'd be happy to share my digital art procress. I usually do my art on procreate pocket with a stylus. First I either upload a picture of a sketch I did on paper, or I sketch something in the app Then on another layer, I do a second, cleaner sketch. After sketching,I color on a layer underneath the sketch and then take away the sketches. To shade my art, I usally take a color and lower the opacity. Then I pick a backround color and I'm done! Heres a list of some of brushes I use: HB pencil(for sketching) Studio Pen and Monoline(For inking although I don't usually ink my art) Charcoal Block(for coloring and shading)
